I can’t find any clarification on Built To Last.

Does Built To Last restore 50% of the base charges of an item?

Or does it include 50% of the charges of any add ons that provide more charges to a item?

Comments

  • 50% total charges including any add-ons.

  • It counts the addons

So a yellow medkit with bandages, with built to last you will get 16 charges back. (24 + 8 / 2)

    Can confirm.

Which makes Built To Last extremely dependent in its value on the charges on your item. Which in turn makes me prefer Streetwise, at least for a full on scavenger build. (Plunderer's, Ace-in-the-hole, Appraisal)

Built To Last outshines Streetwise though (except in coop scenarios).

Take a brown med kit for example, no add ons.

Streetwise extends those 16 charges to 20. Built To Last extends it to 24 charges (albeit a brief 10 second wait to get those 8 additional charges)

True, but if there's more than one item in use, Streetwise starts to overtake Built to Last.

  • Just to throw in yet another bit of testimony, Built To Last absolutely takes into account charges gained from add-ons. I think there was a glitch when it first came out in which it sometimes just didn't for reasons I don't understand, but that hasn't happened to me in months and only happened with toolboxes on the rare occasion where it did.
