OP killer build?
Dying Light, Ruin, NOED, Rancor.
The obsession is caught in a conundrum. Being DL means they want to gen rush and not get caught. Being Rancor means that they do not want to gen rush and not get caught. If you ever find this person they are dead. If you find them soon enough you can tunnel them to death and if the others don't gen rush then the game just stops and they all die. And if they do gen rush then you get NOED and Rancor.
Also while you might laugh, on Freddy this build is even better because he's immune to Rancor's aura reveal if the obsession is awake.

Dying Light + Rancor is kinda pointless if you're banking on using Rancor to execute them after the generators are repaired. The whole purpose of Dying Light is to get it as soon as possible, and why it's campier than Insidious.
You'd likely make better usage somewhere if you ran Remember Me for a late game setup, so you can get maximum benefit for stalling on the gates, (or Blood Warden if you prefer).
They'll just Gen rush you cleanse your totems
So no NOED or Ruin.
anyone you find the obsession somebody else will take the hit and chase.
if you tunnel they'll just take you to the other side of the map away from everyone and keep you there.
Gens done no NOED but you get to mori your obsession soo a 1k game
I thought that but I found when some survivors see Rancor AND you have them on a hook they just kill themselves. Like I've had it happen like 5 times to me with Rancor if I caught the obsession first. If that happens, then the entire game just sucks for everyone else. Rancor basically tells the obsession "you will die this game no matter what", and then DL takes advantage of that if/when they kill themselves. Of course you can just tunnel them to death, or if you are sporting leave them to the end to Rancor them. They won't do gens because they don't want to get Rancor'd, and if the team rushes gens when you chase the obsession then they proc NOED and you get a Rancor. It's like, obsession is dying no matter what unless they are just that amazing at hiding from the killer all game. Everyone else dies if they try to rush gens because NOED.
This is far from overpowered. It is honestly a nonbo. You know... like a combo, but the opposite. NOED and Rancor don't play well together. You should pick one or the other. Rancor and Dying light don't play well together. You should pick one or the other. Basically, you are choosing to have one less perk than normal since it is impossible for both perks to be useful in the same game. The execute on Rancor is the least important part about it IMHO.
When you reach the stage of the game where the gens are all powered and you manage to knock a survivor down, you don't want to immediately kill that player. You want to use that player as bait to hopefully get more kills. If they are dead then the other survivors have no reason to stick around.
If you have NOED though then it just saves you time especially if it was a DS user. That's like the last thing the Rancor guy wants is to be killed at the end of the game so they play slow and you can't take that away. Ruin they can take away, which is why you have Dying Light because if you catch and hook this person they may just kill themselves on the hook because Rancor. If they do, that locks down the game for everyone else. And if you choose to tunnel this person to proc DL, then they others rush gens and proc NOED, so you kill the guy and they only have 3 places to go, your totem or a door and there is definitely 1 less of them.
It's like a catch 22. Either you catch and kill the obs before the gates power and lock down the game, or you pressure them and catch them after forcing your NOED to proc. Ruin is there to allow you to find the obsession and pressure them because if they die before the gates power everyone else loses.
I agree. It is like a catch 22, only you are the one caught in it. Either one of your perks is useless or another one is. Take out Rancor and put in BBQ and the build is 5 times better.
