Do players immediately accelerate to their maximum speed when moving?
When killers move back and forth, I noticed that there's a little period of time in which they decelerate movement in one direction and then start moving in the new direction. I thought that acceleration was instant; is this not the case, or is this just specific to the killer side?
Comments
It applies to both sides, I feel like the first person camera might make it more noticeable though.
Survivors and killers accelerate at the same rate. However, because survivors have a lower top speed, they reach it before killers do. This is partly why looping works - killers will slow down "considerably" when turning corners, etc., relative to survivors.
Do you know if you decelerate when making sharp turns?
Both sides take a little time to reach their actual speed, some very good survivors don't stop moving in a loop and instead make circles so they can start moving immediately when the killer does so. That's why spinning is a thing, otherwise survivors could easily switch directions without the need to "360".
Also lunge distance is based off of current movement speed too, so if you want the highest lung distance don't attack before or immediately after starting to move.
Yes, you do.
