A Question About Gunslinger
Why does his reel work so much faster when he backpedals? Is that not an intended mechanic? The reason I ask is it's impossible to break his chain if you're not near something but if he's not backpedaling, you have a chance of getting free.

@ulquiorra_cifer I never really noticed it in the PTB. I guess you learn new stuff every day. Just really annoying that you get triple the reeling speed when you backpedal, giving no time to break the chain or attempt to help another person break the chain.
Well, if you move back and pull at the same time you technically will cancel each other out and never reach the survivor.

Probably has to do with physics or the engine it's running on.
The reel itself isn't faster. It's just you are also connected to the Deathslinger by a chain so when he moves backwards you also move that distance with him.
This, also fun fact, while he's reeling Deathslinger walks backwards significantly faster than forwards.
It's actually the same speed/total time, because the survivor moves the same as the Deathslinger when he moves back.
The only change is that it makes it more difficult for the survivor to strafe and get caught on obstacles, the speed is the same regardless of the killer moving while reeling.
Its used to make it much harder for survivor to resist the chain and move around. Especially if you get those long range shots
It seems you guys are correct. Tested it multiple times. It takes 8-10 seconds either way. I guess it just feels faster when backpedaling. Thank you for the help!
