I hope we don't get another chapter, but rather a health update/patch for the game soon
Even with these things added, the game is still in need of a lot of work. I am also somewhat disappointed in what we got from the PTB. Don't get me wrong, the map changes to "The Game" and "Crotus Peen Asylum" were pretty good. But this PTB just felt underwhelming because Clown's changes were not that great, trapper's little buff still allows survivors to escape off the first attempt of escaping, and Wraith didn't get enough love.
I know they meant this update to be mainly for Clown but was it really that hard to give Wraith, trapper, and huntress all a bit of tune-up? Wraith has true invisibility now which is great, but he at least could have gotten the purple windstorm addon base kit as well. Trapper's new changes sound pretty good and it looks like it will make his traps more consistent, but survivors can still escape on the first try. For huntress? She could have gotten her addon pass this PTB, the devs already said they would give her one months ago already.
Things that should have come from this PTB (feel free to add more):
- Wraith getting windstorm (purple) base kit. This along with his change would suddenly make him so much better.
- Clown getting a proper rework. His rework was very underwhelming which doesn't make sense because the devs have had ample time to work on them.
- Trapper getting a proper little tune-up. The problem of survivors still having the chance to get off the trap on the first attempt still persists.
- Huntress' addon pass. It would have been nice, like whip cream on pumpkin pie.
- A good UI layout. The new info the layout has is great, but it is just a little poorly implemented. Change it back to how it was, but just add the new info in. Also, I don't see the point in having a hook counter. It would be better for the killer to see the little marks/chevrons the survivors see for their team when they have been hooked. This is just a nice little change.
- The sound bug where survivors make zero noise. This has been in the game for months and has not been fixed yet, please do fix this. It is actually quite common in games and is frustrating to deal with as killer.
I really do think that this game would benefit so much from just one really good health patch with no corners being cut. Another thing that would help is more perk changes. These changes don't even have to bring perks to meta tier, only just enough to make them somewhat useful. Just look at the open-handed change. There are so many weak perks that could benefit from just one number change or even a bonus effect such as distortion or ace in the hole. Perk nerfs, buffs, changes would be a huge and great change to the game. Yes, I am talking about DS being nerfed or changed to the point where it is strong but not abusable.
A health "chapter" would be great. During this patch, we could see some killer buffs or even nerfs, perk buffs, QoL changes, graphical optimization, and more. It would be so good for this game. Dead by daylight is like a room with a really good gaming PC and chair, but it is just littered with dirty laundry, trash, maybe a pizza crust on the table, but you get the point. Map tweaks or even full-on reworks would also be amazing, especially for the farm maps and Haddonfield.
Another thing that a health patch could bring is reworking totems. I feel like totems themselves are a huge missed opportunity for a secondary survivor objective (ignoring undying). If there was an incentive to cleanse all totems, then survivors could spend some of their time doing bones instead of gens.
There are only benefits for bringing a health patch to Dead by daylight.
PS: Buff Wraith's torso, he got dem fiddlesticks for legs.

They have stated multiple times that they will not do a health Chapter a la "Operation Health" from R6S because they have more than enough resources to make such changes during regular content patches.
Apparently that last bit is going swimingly.
I would 100% be willing to buy skins more if they set aside a chapter for health. That would show me they actually care about it. But simply put, they won't. The higher ups are totally okay with shoveling out content every few months, no matter how buggy it is.
I think besides bug fixes, a lot of health changes to the game were very minimal if they existed at all. The last time I remember a good change that was great health-wise was when they fixed window vaults for survivors.
Also, they sure seem to be adding plenty of health changes during normal patches. /s
It will come to a point where they HAVE to fix the game because of loads of spaghetti coding conflicting with other spaghetti coding and bugs being all over the place. It is better to do it now and just delay the content releases.
I have had a theory about all of this, which is mostly boiled down to "We'd have to rewrite the game". I don't think the core of the game is designed in a way that is stable for the amount of modular mechanics they currently use, which leads to so many bugs popping up these days. It might also explain hit registration issues on dedicated servers.
The problem with the game is with every chapter that has came out there have been bugs, like with all games they have bugs every update, but with every game they are minimal and get fixed very quickly (all of them). This is not the same situation compared to DBD, with DBD there are many bugs with each chapter (i mean look at the ones with the twins, their power didn't even work) and because nothing has been done about it apart from a few fixes here and there which don't fix the whole problem or creates new ones, its just adding on and on to the point that the devs have dugged themselves a hole with just so many fixes they need to do. I don't see the point of PTB's anymore, they are to find bugs and bugs and things the community don't like are posted here but nothing is done about them, the twins again is a prime example, it should've been delayed and posted an apology but everyone would of understood apart from maybe 1% of players. I don't see how the devs can release a chapter and do fixes, they haven't been able to so far and there are just too many bugs at this point and things the players want changed.
The devs should put polls and let people post feedback on different things like; HUD layout, how to improve certain killers, colourblind option, etc and see what the players want and what their thoughts are with how they would want it changed / why they don't like it. Then, they should have a PTB (a proper one where they actually improve it) to see if it made the problems better or go away.
But if they get it done now, then they will have less to worry about in the future. It is like waiting until the last day to start working on a project for school.
I entirely agree. Several of their big wigs, however, don't.
