Even if they didn't get the notification, they would still be able to see your aura whilst you are in the trap, unless you also have distortion (which is imo a waste of a slot for such a situational use)
Killer still gets a notification that someone stepped into his trap.

I think it simply works like hag traps where the killer gets a notification no matter what.
Confirmed, I stepped into a bear trap Irl, I infact did scream. It was painful.
Have you tried meditation instead?
But had you Calm Spirit equipped?
Calm spirit and distorsion doesn't counters bear traps in any way, which is very lame and bad.
My Spirit was most definitely not calm.
He said he did it IRL, like, in real life. Lol
