Why doesn't mending have skillchecks?

Snapping out of it does, Jigsaw boxes, cleansing Demo's portals, Pyramid Head's cages, actual healing, etc.

So... why not mending? Why is it literally holding m1 for 12 seconds with no interaction? Was there a design philosophy I don't understand or something?

  • Cleanse totems doesn't either.

  • Seeing as deep wounds was designed for Legion, and on release getting a hit with Legion was extremely easy, they probably didn't want skillchecks as it would have done one or both of these things:

    - Given Legion more map awareness, something that he already had through killer instinct

    - Made it possible for a survivor to go down while mending, seeing as the deep wound timer originally went down while doing so (so the survivor may as well have not even been mending in the first place)

    Or opening chests.

I guess "mending" yourself doesn't take skill!

  • Idk but does this game really need more skill checks?? It's not some amazing mechanic that takes a lot of skill or makes the game more fun
