Would DBD be in a better state if it was released F2P?
The title pretty much sums it up.

What do you mean by "From the beginning"? That seems to indicate that its F2P now or is going to be, neither of which is the case.
Also, no, it wouldn't have been better I don't think. The developers needed the initial income to get to where we are now.
You're right, I did think about that, do you have an idea to reformulate the title?
The exact same title, just remove "From the beginning" :)
Thank you, man! You might have saved the thread topic lol.
If it were f2p, I don't know how I would describe it, maybe it would be full of hackers or the matchmaking would still be broken due to the number of users. but if it were. We should have some kind of reward for buying the game or putting cells.
i dont think it should have been / should ever be a F2P game.
F2P games have a tendency of attracting hackers and bots, as there is no punishment for them being banned (they can just rejoin on an alt account).
seeing how this is a very prominent theme in Team Fortress 2 (a F2P game im playing that has been suffering from tons of bot attacks lately, reaching from aimbots over DDos bots to bots just being as racist and insulting as possible) im honestly very happy DbD is a pay2play, as that makes it a lot less attractive to cheaters and there wont be any masses of bots flooding the community (unless someone has way too much money and free time on their hand, which i highly doubt).
DbD has enough problems already, we really dont need to be vulnerable to such cheaters any more than we are now.
They already use family share to completely negate bans anyways. Since EAC doesn't vac ban.
They eventually issue HWID bans but they use spoofers anyways so I mean, the game going free to play wouldn't really change much in that regard.
