If i dc

Can i still report players who held the game hostage?

Especially since they sent a voice messege saying they are playing hide and seek because they knew they were going to lose?

  • You can report for holding the game hostage if you have video evidence that they were not touching gens or doing anything but locker hopping etc it is reportable.

  • I have messeges of them saying they will only play if i farm with them

You can try your luck and see if it will work out https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

  • Never had this happen to me lol

  • yes you can.

in order to report them you need to:

    1) record parts of the gameplay that show them holding the game hostage

    2) end the trial (eigther by waiting it out or by DCing, thats up to you)

    3) report them in the result screen

    4) open their steam profiles (and keep them open, you'll need them for step 5)

    5) go to the official support page ( https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us ) and file a complaint ticket with "additional player report info", where you provide them with all the requested data from their profiles and the video of them performing the act

be aware that you will not get any further information from the Support regarding your ticket. whether they got banned or not is something you will not be told.

  • One farmed until i killed her and the other escaped. Reported the the one who escaped

  • It's so weird that they require you to record footage. That tells me they have some pretty weak and basic telemetry. If they had a basic replay system, it'd simply be a list of what map/characters/items, etc were used as well as what amounts to a text file containing all the inputs for the match. Then we'd get to have a proper replay system (which would TREMENDOUSLY help players learning what went wrong in a match, and what they nailed) we could also have a little post-match top-down 2D map with icons representing each character, showing where they went and what they did, along with a time code. You could scrub through it and everything!

Well, obviously all this takes work, you don't just magically flip a switch, but it would help in multiple ways, from quality of life, to player investment, to easily being able to send a report!

Evolve had the best damn post-game map.
