False taking the game hostage accusations

Guys can we please stop trying to define taking the game hostage as whatever the hell you wanted it to be.

Literally had a match where Steve crawled into a Dead Zone where I couldn't hook him to which I just left him to bleed out but apparently that didn't stop people from trying to lump me with the accusation of taking a game hostage.

Can we please stop making our own definitions of what bannable offences should be.

No if Bubba is nodding to you after tunneling you on first hook then moris you is not griefing neither is Claudette looping you around the same loop endlessly

Do you want to have 20 different definitions of tunneling or camping fine whatever no one's going to stop you. You might get some odd looks when you you try to hurl them out out.

When it comes to something that is going to get someone banned I'm sorry to be the one that's says this but you don't get to make your own definition of bannable offences

  • Same for me, someday we will get wrongly banned, that's why I record every single match, likewise car drivers do to deal with their insurance lol

  • the entire “taking the game in hostage” definition needs to be change. Because even if i bodyblock a survivor for the entire game, the other survivors can repair all generators, trigger egc, then the game ends.

  • @YaiPa

There is still defined as taking the game hostage because in that current moment there is nothing that survivor could do besides disconnect to escape. Simply because if the other survivors just decided not to do gens that game will not end for that person.

Take this scenario and imagine this person has an active reverse bear trap on their head instead they're at least bound by the ticking of the timer. Is it a scummy move for a pig player to do definitely could you make an argument for griefing definitely but in that case considering they have a way out of the game besides disconnecting it wouldn't be taking him hostage.

The first scenario is completely based on whether the other people decide to complete the gen or open an exit gate. Until those two what comes happened there is no way that player can get out of the game without disconnecting there's no timer no nothing.

In the second scenario even though it's still just as toxic the survivor question can at least just leave whilst the reverse bear trap time it ticks down and come back. Which by the way depending on how many gens would be quicker than waiting for everybody to complete gen.

Or an easy way to explain it scenario two the game will eventually end for that person or the killer will have to free them in scenario 1 there is a possibility that the game will never end for that person that is what makes it taking the game hostage.

  • @Volfawott but there is a chance. The definition of taking the game in hostages doesn't revolve around something being hard and dependent on someone else actions. If there is a chance besides disconnecting to end the match, then it's not hostage. It's sure an outdated and ambiguous term, which is why should be addressed.

  • This just makes me wonder how many invalid tickets the team has to sift through everyday. They probably get hundreds of tickets because of camping and tunneling even though they state it’s not reportable.

I had someone at least claim they would report me for body blocking with Bubba when I caught them working a totem and blocked them there just long enough to saw them

  • @YaiPa

The problem with open up is you really have no idea who's the person taking the game hostage for example in a situation like mine.

If there's a Dead Zone where the killer hook the survivor the survivor and the survivor keeps running to that area who's taking the game hostage then if the killer chooses to slug and leave the survivor down are they taking the game hostage or is it the person who keeps running to a place where they can't be hooked.
