Option To Disable Aim Assist
Many people can agree that aim assist is more of a detriment than a helper, with it constantly causing you to hit walls or the game having you swipe instead of lunge because the mechanic is broken. If you happen to be playing The Legion and have this happen when in Feral Frenzy, you will be losing a lot of time. You will be forced to eat the stun and you might lose some injures.
I highly doubt anyone would oppose having an option to turn off aim assist.

You got that wrong.
It's called "Aim Dressing".
Auto-aim is actually called Aim Dressing. It makes a hit that you shouldn't get look more convincing and vice versa. ๐
I believe the developers are planning to keep auto-aim, but change a few things that makes it so frustrating. Peanits mentioned in a different thread that they are planning to iron out some kinks in auto-aim, but that's really it, we're stuck with it. ๐
I meant aim assist.
I meant to say aim assist, but they all mean generally the same thing. It's just more of a thing to help survivors rather than killers, with it denying several hits that would've otherwise landed.
It also changes the direction of your hits sometimes. Leading to situations where attacks you should have got, particularly at corners, are taken away because the game makes you hit a wall.
There is no aim assist. Killer attack cone is simply made that big that even a disabled person without 2 arms should get the hit and the camera snaps there nicely like a smooth aim bot
Unfortunately, as someone else said, there is no "aim assist": it's "aim dressing." It's there to make the animation look better. If I remember correctly, the events go like this: 1. killer swings, 2. game checks to see if the survivor is in range, 3. animation is adjusted, 4. game checks again to see if the survivor is in range.
Due to that order of events, this is how the following happens: 1. killer swings at survivor going around corner, 2. game sees that survivor is within range, 3. game adjusts the animation so it'll look like the weapon is connecting with the survivor and now the killer is swinging at an angle, 4. the killer hits the wall.
Devs have made a clear distinction between "aim assist" and "aim dressing." "Aim assist" helps you get hits you shouldn't have; "aim dressing" never helps you get a hit you shouldn't have, but it can cause you to miss a hit you otherwise would've gotten. Neat, huh?
The problems come from the fact that the attack box is a cone. You hit the first thing in that box. Whatever it may be or how large/small it may be. That's why windows are now borderline safe with a fast vault unless the killer was breathing down your neck - if the killer has to go around an angle, the cone will likely detect the window frame before the survivors hitbox and hit that instead.
