We're Gonna Live Forever changes suggestion
To make it less of a wasted perk slot, the usual suggestion to make it do more than just points for unhooks/protection hits stands.
But let's say it does nothing more and is just a "farming" perk..
Here's my suggestion:
- Each time you perform a Safe Hook Rescue, take a Protection Hit for a Survivor, heal a Survivor for the equivalent of a health state, complete the equivalent of a generator, open a gate, cleanse a totem or stun the killer, gain a stack-able 12.5 % Bonus to all Bloodpoint gains up to a maximum of 50/75/100 %.
- The Bonus Bloodpoints are only awarded post-Trial
So basically, gain a token for every action towards achieving your goal of surviving. But since more actions would give tokens, the maximum tokens would be raised to 4/6/8 and each token would give less % than they used to, to balance things out.
Unhooks and protection hits
But it would also work on generators, healing others, doing totems, opening gates and stunning the killer
Heck, if you get chased the entire game and can't do anything else, maybe throw in a token for every chase won, or every 30 seconds of chase time.
Or make the bonus points base kit on both sides and completely change what We're Gonna Live Forever does. I honestly don't know what it could do to remain in the theme of a brawling David though.
Maybe give the unhooked survivor Haste for a few seconds so they can get away from the hook faster while you're slower and able to take a hit for them?
But anyway.. yeah, long story short, if the perk remains the way it is now, there needs to be more ways to gain stacks, but also change the percentage (from 25% to 12.5%) and total stacks (from 2/3/4 to 4/6/8)

The idea of obtaining stacks easier for a bloodpoint perk seems like a good idea in my eyes. As it stands now, We’re gonna live forever requires way too much time to build up.
It does. The thing with it, too, is that you're not the only one going for unhooks, wether to get points, or, you know, just to unhook the other survivors. So there's games where you'll get 6 unhooks because you happen to always be the closest or no one goes for them, or you get none at all because either others get there first, or you get chased away from the hook and someone goes while you're keeping the killer busy.
A lot of people don't run the perk because it's too situational when/how you get the stacks/points, as opposed to Barbecue that gives you stacks fairly easily, and has the aura reading on top of the bonus points.
I honestly would prefer if they gave more ways to get stacks than leaving it the way it is and slapping a secondary use to it. It's hard enough to get decent bloodpoint score on survivor without having to make it harder to get the bonus points. To score well you need to work on generators, unhooks, totems, and get chased, all before other people finish the generators and open the doors. On killer, you can do half bad and still score higher than the best survivor you played against.
I definitely think the BP-boosting perk for suvivors needs changing somehow. I find myself never wanting to play survivor solely because i earn about half as many BPs as i do on killer, even when i use We're Gonna Live Forever.
As a Killer, all you have to do to get the BPs from BBQ is Hook people. Literally 'play killer, get more BPs'. Your MAIN objective gets you bonus BPs.
But as a survivor, you have to unhook people. Sometimes you are not using an unhooking build. Sometimes you are too far away to attempt to unhook. Unhooking isnt your MAIN objective, gens are. They could do something as simple as just taking the bonus BPs off of We're Gonna Live Forever, and put it onto Dark Sense instead. This way its literally an opposite perk of the killers.
When the killer hooks someone with BBQ, he gets bonus BPs, and sees the aura of survivors.
Dark sense could say, when you finish a gen, get bonus BPs, and see the aura of the killer.
This way, both killer and survivor's BP bonus perk would apply when they further their MAIN objective.
The biggest problem is that if they do this change, a lot of players will simply ignore hooked players completely because they aren't rewarded enough for it. Especially lower/mid ranked players. The purpose of the WGLF perk is to give incentive to players to help each other rather than play selfishly. Unfortunately, unhooking 4 players in one match to get the 100% BP bonus is difficult. Often other players are also attempting to unhook, and there arent enough 'unhooking events' in one game for all players to max out their WGLF perk.
You probably could make it give 50% bonus BPs and only require two SAFE unhooks per game instead of 4 to max to 100%.
Or still give 25% for unhooking, but then another 25% if you heal an injured survivor.
Just bumping this up a bit, since I posted it on a week day.
Agreed with most of the suggestions. I'd like to see we're gonna live forever no longer be a wasted perk slot, just like barbecue isn't. It doesn't even have to be powerful, as long as it does Something
Yeah.. that's why I'm suggesting to either make it do something more, or to have more ways to get tokens out of it.
Or they could do both. You get more ways to get tokens, but also, on safe unhooks, something else happens. No idea what, but something!
Friend said something along the lines of "I can't wait to play survivor with more than three perks", since we're gonna live forever literally is an unperk.
