Franklin's demise

just a question. with the new system that allows you keep the item when you escape even if it's fully depleted, does franklin's demise counter it? like, when you hit a survivor at the gates with franklin's, and then he escapes, does he lose the item or keep it?

i think franklin's is pretty unfair if that's the case, because you can basically just rob survivors of their items they spent bloodpoints on or got from chests. also with ace in the hole, if you still lose the item and add ons with it that's just stupid. imagine if you do a loot build with blunderers and ace in the hole, and then boom killer has franklin's and you just lose it. pretty unfair when you spent 1 or 2 perk slots to loot chests and then the killer just robs you.

  • The survivor loses it as they are not holding the item.

Ok bro, seriously, that is just teh game, if you die you lose it as well.

Its your choice to do a build like that, you run the risk, you think its more fair that you are just guarantheed an item? because that is fun right?

And how fair is it for a killer that slugs you to have you just get up using No Mither or Unbreakable, you just robbed the killer of a hook.

Oh wait no, no, thats the game, the killer took a risk slugging you.

But to answer your question, Franklins works like it does now, if you get hit with a base attack, you drop your item, if you get hit and then leave then yes you dropped your item and left it behind.

This no longer being able to use up an item however is a massive buff for survivors because right now, if you 99nd your toolbox and a kill hits your with Franklins, that toolbox is just gone.

  • Who cares? First off not many killers use Franklin's and if they did its prolly cuz the lobby was full of keys and annoying items. Second, lets say you lost a green toolbox with a couple decent addons to Franklin's one game. No big deal it's so easy to replace and this is the risk of bringing items. You are not guaranteed to escape and keep said item

  • Depends what you mean by "lose". If a survivor leaves their item behind, either because they died, because they placed it on the ground or gave it to another survivor and left, or because it gets knocked out of their hand with Franklin's Demise, they won't escape with it and therefore won't keep it. This is currently the case, and will still be the case after the update. Everything you just described regarding the killer "robbing" the survivors of their items is already a thing.

The only thing that will change is that if an item's charges run out, it won't disappear anymore. So Franklin's Demise can make a survivor drop their item, but it can't deplete the item to the point where the item vanishes altogether. If the survivor picks the item back up before they leave, they'll still get to keep it, even if it has no charges left at that point.
