Lock symbols?

Just downloaded the game from PS+ and I played through both tutorials and got ready to play the actual game. But all the modes have lock symbols on them? I tried deleting and reinstalling and its still the same. I noticed a lot of people saying they can’t get connection to server but no one saying anything about lock symbols

    Screenshots would be helpful if u can. I don't remember ever having locked symbols. U have ps plus right?

    Ok so if u could do a screen shot. Or ever a pic of ur tv screen just so I can see the menu would be helpful but even when the servers were down I didn't have locked icons. Just a pop up error when trying to log into the menu

    And here’s the ps+ symbol by my name, I renewed it like 2 weeks ago for another 3 months

    I've got a few ideas that may help -

    Have you checked to make sure there are no updates pending? That is often the cause.

    Might try rebooting the Ps4.

    If you've done both of those, you might renew licences on your profile. Those things always need renewing on the Ps4.

    Oh I had another thought. Maybe u need to go to the terms of services or whatever and accept somthing before playing. Some games do that.

    Well I’ve officially done everything. I rebooted my PS4, updated everything I can update (system is already recent update and so is game), I accepted terms and services at start of game when first installed and no option to check anything else, I have ps+ sub, my WiFi is perfect connection, and I’ve reinstalled the game twice now. 
    Still lock symbols over everything but the tutorial option. Looks like this game is not getting played by me. It’s not something on my end

    You might have to re-do the tutorial again, for Both Killer & Survivor.

    @BoxingRouge i went straight into a real match without doing any tutorials when i downloaded it and this was like 2 days ago.

    @BoxingRouge I did twice fully, both killer and survivor when I first downloaded just to get the layout and #########, and again when I reinstalled. 
    Its all good tho, I’ll probs just go buy it at GameStop for $9.99. One here where I live has it used

    Did you try restoring your licences in your profile? 

    It's a long shot but it could be the issue.

    @RWoodrow yeah I did once the other guy said something about it. Took like 40 seconds but it still didn’t help

    @shotcaller8379 I tried pretty much everything I could think of and even what they suggested and nothing worked, I just bought the game for $11.21 at GameStop. I like physical copies anyways. Works fine now, just not the ps+ download for some reason

    I have not, but it may be related to the recent outages.

    Thank u @Peanits. Hey @Troyyoung2014 status update? Is it still showing locked icons? If so I was gonna tag @not_Queen (she has been very active today) and see if she has any ideas on how to troubleshoot the issue. I've seen several people who said the same thing about having locked icons and already completing the tutorial or other various common sense troubleshoot (license renewal, updates, ect..)

    Is the game fully downloaded on your Playstation?
    Many times you can enter your downloaded games while they're downloading because they're ready start but they still have to install data

    They can enter the game even if it's not fully downloaded yet.
    Because Sony gave the option to many games that you can enter after a specific amount of gb downloaded, then the game is "ready to start" but not ready to play.

    It makes sense but I thought the OP said everything was done and updated to 2.1.1 or whatever it is now lol

    I've seen that before. In my case it was xbox but should be the same. It's pretty much what FoggyWeather said. The game downloads so much then it lets you open and play the tutorials. Everything else remains locked until the full game download finishes.

    @Doomspooge and @FoggyWeather_ are right! The game downloads in ''chunks'' and allows you to play the tutorial while it downloads the rest. You finished your tutorial before the download so you are locked out. If you wait a little, the issue should be fixing itself. Please contact support.deadbydaylight.com if the issue doesn't resolve!
