Devs please answer this.

Why do you guys NEVER answer major major questions the community asks? Someone will ask "Well what perks are you wishing to buff/nerf? Do you plan ANY nerfs to survivors? Do you plan any buffs towards killers etc etc." And you guys always just refuse to answer them except for once in a blue moon. Instead you go into the forum post and actually answer various comments that don't regard the post at all which is so annoying. Its like you guys are a ghost and the community doesn't have a oujia board. You're always there doing something but we can never talk to you guys and ask why. I understand you can spoil things but that doesn't mean you cant just comment on the forum posts while blatantly ignoring the forum post. Can you guys please be somewhat more translucent? You guys did good with developer updates we should get those more frequently even if they have little information because we know you guys are making changes 24/7 and it sucks having to wait 3 months just to see what minor changes will be made.

  • Pretty sure they do. It's answering the same question over and over and over again. They SHOULD pin their FAQ answers in general though.

Anyway, Almo has a thread somewhere where he/she dives into the topic a bit and elaborates quite nicely. I accept this answer and explanation to a certain degree, but acceptable nonetheless.

I used the Ruin topic as an example.

They try their best to answer as many people as possible.

But how many people do we often see on the forums from the team answering questions?

2-3 against thousands of players with the same questions?

  • Because the mustn't spoil anything!!!!! Imagine. They will nerf exhaustion ok? How would anyone react to the forums for that? They must be careful

Okay but shouldnt they want community feedback?

  • They do get feedback, but they don't share it with anyone for good reasons

  • Then why don't they respond its still not answering my question...showing us your listening by just saying you do doesn't show anything.

True, but they answer forums. They don't have 3k devs to answer all of them and it's time consuming. When the ruin rework was announced, every dev tried to calm people down. If I were them,I would just see all the forums, not answer all of them.

BTW when you put the word "Dev"in your title you have less chance of answering so... :/

This isnt just about the ruin rework idk if you're deliberately not reading my messages or what

EXACTLY idk if you intended it but that GIF describes it perfectly because they ARE there they're just answering questions not at all related to anything important. Example.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

Post: Hey Thana is in a really bad spot do you think it'll ever be buffed or have plans to look at it?

Commentator: I liked PTB Thana better :(

Devs in response to Commentator and not OP: PTB Thana was too powerful and needed a change!

    -------------------------------------------------------------

They always answer comments with answers that had nothing to do with the OP instead of just answering the OP.

  • I do agree that more communication from the devs would be ideal. But it isn't just about spoiling things, it's mostly about security and non-disclosure. Even if the CMs would like to be able to answer questions about future plans or the reasoning behind certain changes, they may contractually be barred from doing so. It's entirely likely that they can't even say why they can't communicate about certain things.

Even if they are able to talk about something, they have to be very careful doing so. People already hold the devs to promises they never made (one example being the Summer event that never happened last year - there was never one announced, people just assumed there would be one and responded as though the devs had promised an event when they never did). I'm sure you can imagine what might happen if they said "we're planning this" and then changed their minds later on and didn't implement said feature after all. There would be a lot of reactions along the lines of "but you promised" and it would be very bad for PR.

  • They sometimes will, but when they do you’ll just get hit with “we’ll look into it” so there isn’t much of a point unless all the planets a-line with a green moon.

It would be better than the idea that they blatantly ignore everyone. Currently a huge chunk of people agree the devs dont listen or care about the killer playerbase and I feel as if the reason is not only due to the changes but to the lack of communication and feedback that is able to be provided.

They probably do,but choose not to answer it. Maybe they find them rude,or that they answered these questions before
