Do killers retain memories of their former lives?

For example would the Legion know eachother as friends or are they just made mindless pets by ne-ah I mean the entity

  • Yes most their add-ons reference their past lives and enhance their abilities. The entity also punishes them and they can rebel against it like the trapper hates the entity and is tortures by it.

Where does it say the trapper hates it rift?

  • Various cosmetics and other flavour text.

Apparently, the metal shrapnel and spikes in his body were torture from the Entity to make him obey it. Initially, at least.

Now it fuels his rage and determination to kill survivors.

  • I presume that both Killers and Survivors must, else they wouldn't have any hope of escape. If the Fog was all they've ever known they have no reference point as a safer and better place to go back to. It feeds on them until they've lost all hope and then discards them into a void of nothing. The Killers, on the other hand, have to be kept in a perpetual state that makes them dangerous. They also cling to environments like the ones they were around in life. None of these would have meaning if they forgot who they were before.

So essentially saminations version of the trapper is quite lore friendly in a way
