Rift pass feels impossible to complete
There is a major problem with rift rewards and how much time you have to spend on the Dead by daylight rift pass. The rift closes in 70 days and there are 70 tiers, realistically to keep up you would need a level a day to do the bare bones amount of work right? To get one level a day without challenges you would have to play 10 games and make them all last 10 minutes at least. Simple enough right? Except getting a game and loading into it can take anywhere from 10 minutes to even an hour. This drastically increases the amount of time you have to grind out the rift pass and makes it unrealistic for those who have busy lives. Finally there are the rift challenges, I have spent over 3 days before trying to get a challenge done and because it was so specific I walked away with low point games and barely any rift pass, its frustrating, grindy, and the survivor challenges seem a lot more harder than the killer challenges. Doing challenges like escape once without being hooked is hard to do without being a crouching potato in the corner, which encourages unproductivity. However killers are asked to do what they've done all along, hooking killing, injuries, etc. I could excuse this if the challenges gave you a reason to throw so many games and get tons of hate mail, but then come to find out the rift challenges all together dont even add up to half the rift pass. You get 33 levels in all for completing all the challenges on the rift, so that means for 37 levels you have to play 370 10 minute games to get the rewards the rift pass doesn't give you. Maybe if all challenge rewards were 10 rift shard and 5 it might help this problem a lot,it would make the endless grinding worth it instead of working 3 days to see 3 rift shards towards the rift pass.

You always have to take into account that you have to play matches in order to complete the challenges. So you get the rift fragments for completing the challenges and also by playing the games that are required to get those challenges. Since the challenges have been made easier (and less grindy) you have to play more matches on your own without the challenges.
But I have been, I used to set aside time for this game every day. But then I would get stuck on a challenge that I spent at least 3 to 4 hours a day trying to get through, getting tunneled, camped, my objectives taken from me seconds before completion, there's only so much of that you can do before you have to step away and say it takes too much of my life to complete these "less grindy" challenges. And no one wants to work on the same challenge for days on end anyway, that's why most battle passes do multiple easier to moderate challenges.
There are several threads on rift progress I'll sum up the result:
You need 60 minutes of pure gameplay per day to get the rift done. Regarding spending bloodpoints, queue times (while you could spend bloodpoints as well) and everything else, it would be more realistic to say 2 hours per day to get everything done. Assumption: within these 2 hours you play at least once survivor and once killer, to get the bonus XP. And that this time is sufficient to get the challenges done.
Thats it. 2 hours a day. If the challenges are not done then, maybe a bit more.
Side note: This is actually the average BHVR said to be played among all players. So it is fair to take this as base. Making it less grind and less or easier challenges would make the above-average players play for some days and then sitting there "when do we get new challenges?" And that not every below-average player gets the whole rift done... it is about cosmetics. So not a neck breaker.
And regarding your challenges. Yes, some are hard, but some are just finished by playing the game. Actually level 4 is even easier than level 3 after the changes. For level 1 and 2 you had less than 1 day per challenge to complete, but they were easy enough to finish multiple per day. For level 3 you had 1 day, level 4 1.5 days per challenge. On level 4 I had several challenges finished within one match, like the 2 grabs (scratched mirror), 4 gen kicks (Surveillance + Pop) kick 8 gens/pallets or 2 matches like escape with Claudette, 25 weapon hits (with Legion) or 5 heal states (Medkit + Botany Knowledge). These give you plenty additional time for the harder ones.
The spinechill escape unhooked challenge? If you wanna be useless, the challenge makes you useless. It is about trying builds, like I gave examples on the above ones. Run it with Sprintburst and Lightweight for example. When Spinechill shows you the killer approaches: vanish. You can still sit on gens and escape. Other idea: run Empathy / Alert, so you see where the killer is and if your gen is safe to work on. It is not an insta success but raises your chances. Just think a bit about your possibilities, the challenges are all doable. And one challenge per day is, on average, definitely possible.
EDIT: I play above average, since the rift came out, I raised from 2 hours per day to 4 hours per day. I needed one week for every level to finish. So 28 days in total instead of 70. With average 'expected' time I would have needed 56 days to finish the challenges (sidenote: I have the 6 traps challenge still open, not tried yet)
If you complete all the challenges, you will reach tier 41 at a minimum. This is factoring in the Rift progress you get from the Tome itself, as well as the XP you would receive if you completed all challenges in the minimum number of games required. Realistically, since it's likely to take you more than 1-2 games to complete most of the challenges, you'll probably get to tier 50- or even 60-something.
Beyond that, yes, you may need to grind XP to reach the end. The Rift is nowhere near impossible to complete, but it does reward dedication. It was never designed to be completable by all players - it was designed to be completable by the average player, which means around half the playerbase won't be able to complete it, either because they're not good enough at the game or just because they don't spend enough time on it. If you can't complete the Rift in the allotted time, you may just need to content yourself with the knowledge that you're in that lower half, and that's okay.
