New game mechanic idea

What If the survivors had a limited time to escape from the beginning of the Match like 10 minutes? this would make sense seeing how the entity wants them and it would prevent things like the last two survivors hiding and waiting for hatch for 12 hours.

I dont know just an idea!

  • So you want people to gen rush even faster.... It would be better if they had to scrounge parts or tools to finish repairing the generator. It would at least give a second objective.

I understand where you're coming from, but I feel like there should be a different situation to handle this โ€” secondary objective that allows you to do generators without much detection.

The main problem is if you touch a generator, that's a dead giveaway to the survivor's location. ๐Ÿ˜•

Therefore, we could have a secondary objective that allows you to reduce the amount of charges a generator needs to be completed, but this would need a lot of tweaking for balance.

In the meantime, as a band-aid fix, if all generators have 0% on them for 2 minutes when there's only two survivors left โ€” the EGC initiates. They can get rid of the EGC by completing a generator.

  • We need a solution for the scenario where only 2 survivors are left and stop attempting to get the gens done.

This could be a mechanic to reveal or hint at the survivors' location after x amount of time. Alternatively, the game could just end with the survivors getting sacrificed when no gen gets finished within x amount of time after the previous one got finished.

  • Maybe 25 minutes or smth like that.

Identity V has idle crows spawn when survivors arent doing any gens / healing / interactions afzer a certain time.

Unlike with dbd these crows seem like an actual nuisance than just a afk-indicator.

And best part is this mechanic already exidting in dbd

  • I like the idea of having to search certain locations for gen parts. Each part repairs the gen by a fixed percentage. Can only hold a limited number of parts. Killer can't see search locations, but can regress gens still. More of an alternate game mode than something to add to the game. Something to spice things up without removing current game play.

  • This wouldn't be a problem for high ranking survivors but would be a nightmare to newer players vs heavy stall builds i fear
