Why xyz can overperform

If a certain perk or killer is strong they'll get used a hell of alot more, so let's take a nice and balanced hag. Hag is a fun killer to play who's decently strong after her buffs. But let's say Billy spirit nurse and all the other top tiers got nerfed into the ground (the nightmare on que times) hag would then be overperforming as a majority of killers would be playing her. Not because of her strengths, but due to the high number of recent hag mains.

Its similar scenario with survivors. If ds was brought back in li- I mean nerfed, dead hard just caused the survivor to dance and adrenaline caused a cardiac arrest then perks like self care and sprint burst would start to over perform due to them being the strongest of perks in that scenario.

So if your not happy with something overperforming, ask for buffs to the weaker perks and killers, ask for the massive strength of one killer to be spread out among the rest of its power (e. G some of doctors power in tracking could be transfered to chase potential), don't ask for nerfs, because then all it does it bring in a new over performer.

Tldr : please don't touch hag and focus on buffing as that has more of an impact than the nerfing

  • "Overperforming" it's not the same as "strong". In your example if everyone started playing Hag but the average was still a 2k she wouldn't be overperforming, only overplayed.

  • Don't worry, the hag changes will only bump her down three tiers or so. 🤔

  • Hag is ridiculously strong in the right hands. Most just don't want to take the time to learn her power and are put off by her 110% speed.

  • The term overperforming is a bad excuse to nerf killers either without a reason or because many people in the community dislike them. The nurse basekit nerf was trash. No idea why some people now start to claim, that Oni, GF, Hag and even infinite T3 myers are op. Back in the dark era of 2k16-2k17 i guess.

It's simple. They want every killer to be like legion, i.e easy to beat, loopable for 5 gens and able to get bullied without consequences.

I dont think its based on other killers performance's im pretty sure it's based on what behavior considers to be a good power level not on other killers but im guessing other killer performances does have a small amount of input

  • What a ridiculous stupid conclusion. So if all killer players were only playing trapper right now you would say hes overperforming? You should understand why thats a stupid conclusion, cause there is no logic behind it. Youre gonna equate overperforming with playing as majority.

  • The thing with balancing the Killers though is determining which Killer/s are the best to use as the Standard, the ideal Killer in terms of balance and game-play.

    • Is Nightmare the ideal goal? Do we need to buff the vast majority of Killers?
    • Is Ghostface the ideal goal? Where a few Killers are over-performing but a lot more are under-performing.
    • Is Huntress the ideal goal? Where the amount of Killers performing better and worse than her is roughly equal.
    • Is Doctor the ideal goal? Do we need to nerf the vast majority of Killers?

We don't yet know what's the best Killer to use for this standard, and we don't know whether BHVR has a Killer they like to use as reference for doing changes or if they do something completely different.
