The art of nerfing/ buffing things without making everything worse.

The secret? baby steps. Don't completely gut something, and don't make it stupidly OP on the first go.

A lot of things in dbd can be fixed by just slightly changing how it works, and following through with it according to feedback. Right now, the anti-hemorrhage syringe (pink instaheal) is worse than the styptic agent (purple instaheal). Instead of slapping a whole 16 seconds delay, AND reducing it to a single health state, you could have just kept the 2 health state heal after a short delay (not 16 seconds - what you thinking with that one?)

Ironically, because of this change, the purple insteaheal is now better than the pink.

  • i would be rather behing swaping the rarities of those addons than bringing old syringe back. it was too strong against basic M1 killers like wraith or clown

  • but the syringe doesn't even do anything now. 6 seconds was a little short, but changing it to 16 seconds PLUS whatever slow healing effects the killer has AND it consumes you medkit. Neither of the instaheals should consume your med kit anymore.

  • WIth new syringe - You can heal yourself atleast once with a yellow medkit (and twice with add-ons) and if you want you can make this faster with speed affecting add-ons.

  • This is the case with a lot of things in the game. I can think of at least a couple of killers whose very rare (purple) addons are better than their ultra rares (pink/red).
