Dbd : pay to win or rng to win?
This discussion is gonna be mainly talking about perks as 1) the shrine of secrets can give perks if you don't wanna buy the killer and 2) tbh a killer is all about having fun with their power
To explain the title you know how the killer "meta" perks consist of some dlc perks like ruin or pop, well how do you see the best way to get these perks?
Do you just fork over money to get the killer to level them with so you can guarantee that you'll get them or do you just wait for the shrine?
Because while the first method makes it easier to go for the completionist route as your getting concitency in what perks you unlock
However
Its a huge time saver to just buy the perk off the shrine, let's say you wanna get I'm all ears from the ghostface, you have 2,000 shards. You could spend way over 150,000bp on leveling that ghostface Or you could just fork over the shards and unlock IAE for your nurse faster thanks to the shrine
But the shrine is very rng dependant and it could very well be quicker to just level the killer for certain perks "spirit fury" comes to mind
So what's your opinion. Pay to win or rng to win? Or neither.
Comments
A good portion of the meta perks are on killers you can buy with shards, so I wouldn't necessarily call it pay to win. Grind to win?
Bbq is technically pay to win. Or at least, pay to grind. I think that more killers should be given in the base game but I'm sure that they make decent money from people who don't feel like waiting.
It depends. They have the Shrine, so they're not as bad at pay to win, but a lot of the top meta perks for both sides are still locked behind a pay wall.
RNG is another factor all together though.
This is why I always kind of balk at ''DbD is a skillful game." Perks play too much factor, RNG plays too much factor on how your match will go, etc.
