This isn't an us VS them. Doing challenges so I am forced to play blight. Had to break 8 Pallets or doors with a lethal rush. I'm on console and really am not that good.

Survivors brought me to artists map. I went in thinking OK, prioritize the challenge and if I can do anything as far as hitting survivors I will.

Low and behold I think they were actually around my skill level. They wasted some time booning which I was fine with. Had a clicky nea. OK no biggie. Had a Jake make a nice Sabo play. I was spreading pressure. Not slugging. Not tunneling. No add ons as I try to get decent with a power before modifying it.

My perks were discordance, I'm all ears, call of brine and dragons grip. Not very oppressive I don't think.

Anyway, down to 1 Gen left, they kind of 3 gen'd themselves. I hooked one for the 2nd time and she dc'd. OK. Whatever. Next I left the gens to chase clicky girl and commited to her and hooked her for the kill. Chased the Jake a bit and downed him. He was on death hook. I hooked him and he dc'd.

It was the end of the game. He brought a cake, someone brought a flan. He got a Sabo play. At least a Gen or 2. Unhook and heals. Not to mention protection hits. He would have gotten a decent amount of points. Instead he got zero.

My question is why? He wasted the whole game. I can almost understand maybe a lot of blights and DC first down. Or suicide on hook. But he played the entire game.

Why? Can someone explain it in terms that don't make it us VS them?

I asked afterwards as they were console also but he never replied.

    I really am curious.

So I’m a survivor main, and proud to say no matter how toxic I never dc. But, at this point the game feels extremely slow and unfair as a survivor, I’m not saying it is unfair, but it feels that way. If any of your teammates isn’t the absolute goat, you’re screwed, one mistake and the killers recent speed boosts will punish you, and forget repairing gens by yourself, that extra ten seconds might not sound long, but I’ve played over 10 matches today and maybe managed two gems by myself without the killer just naturally ending up on me. When you compound this with the perk overhaul causing survivor strategies to be less reliable and requiring new plans, playing survivor just isn’t fun right now.

SoloQ is sure as hell extremely weak and needs help

but survivor is far from weak, if survivor was weak as everyone says

wouldn't bully squads and clicky clickies poof away?, i still meet a lot of them, i mean most of them tend to turn off their brains so basically a free game if u play any killer that isn't M1 and play with certain perks

SWF would also feel weak if survivor was week, yet they still give so much pressure, not as much but still almost the same

some perks didn't need to get butchered or even touched like MoM

but again the devs are keeping their eyes on every perk that is being overused or being a bit broken and literally killing them

-here lies Thana and Ruin, may they rest in peace and never be used again thanks to EVERY DAMN LEGION

and survivors could help the devs understand the game better if stopped dc or afking after getting hooked once

So survivor is weak unless you have 3 friends who only play dbd, got it.

  • So this is coming from someone who can’t play the ptb I’m on ps4, but I’ve tried to see as much gameplay of nemesis as possible because I’m really excited for this chapter, and I’m loving his power, but the zombies are an issue. I love the zombies in theory but they have the ability to reveal survivor auras, infect survivors, down/injure survivors, and camp, this is ridiculous in my opinion, nemesis is not underpowered as a killer on his own, so having these AI teammates is imo very overkill. I have an idea that would balance the zombies more I think, it wouldn’t need to change their function at all, but what if survivors had the ability to sneak up on them and kill them, the zombies would still respawn, but this would eliminate the ridiculous problems they pose, while keeping them as an interesting gameplay mechanic for survivors and killers.

  • So I know there’s a lotta hostility between survivors and killers, but I’m one of the very few who honestly plays both a lot, not like addictively, but I’m pretty much always rank 8 or below. I said that just so you know where I’m coming from.

Pre animation change the survivors were justifiably at a disadvantage, a normal person is being chased by a paranormal killer, so it’s fair that they would be slower and have limited options to defend themselves. One method that players developed was using the oddities in the animations to their advantage, this method for many including me became one of the primary ways to survive. Simply put, these animation changes completely removed the ability to use movement to escape a killer, the killer has every single advantage in every situation, a survivor is incapable of readjusting their direction fast enough to dodge a hit from the killer that clearly should not have hit if the animations were satisfactory. I know that it was claimed that these animation changes would not affect actual gameplay, but this is proven completely untrue with one match as killer or survivor. This complete inability to outsmart killers with movement leaves the survivor with the exclusive option to be lucky enough to have either a flashlight and/or nearby pallets, to try to escape a chase.

I know these changes are highly subjective, and actually I love the new animations visually but they have completely broken the game for me personally. Perhaps the changes were intended to limit survivors options even more, which would be strange given how few they already had, but that’s possible, I’d hope if such an important tool was removed another would take its place. I am not going to be playing survivor with these animations, perhaps the fault is mine, but I find it very unbalanced and I unenjoyable. I hope whatever changes are needed are made, if not I understand.
