i agree, but without an actual working penalty system that stops people doing it this will never end. im not sure how they can do an actual working system to prevent people DCing when there are issues like cheaters running rampant. People would complain about getting punished when DCing v a cheating holding the match hostage.

As for the game being team based…you are correct to a certain point but it is not strictly a team game. Survivors are not scored as a team, the win/loss criteria is not team based, people have individual goals such as challenges to stun the killer 3 times or cleanse 5 totems or escape via hatch so they dont always have a team goal. Thats actually why the game is a mess. If we make it so team play isnt needed to win for soloq where there are 4 individuals with little team play then when SWF play with team play and unite with 1 common goal then it tips the scales.

Likewise if we treat the game as team game and buff killers so they can stand against the teams with good team work and comms then the solo players get steamrolled because they lack the team work needed to stand against the killers.

The core of the survivor gameplay is team.

You must do things with the team. Healing, unhooking, picking up.

So to determain what survivors supose to do we must take what they need to do for each other and main objectiwe.

And other things are side objectiwes that can be beneficial or detremental for the team.

So we must focuse to make what survivors supose to do not abuseable.

The same applays to the killer.

Protect the generators and sacrofice the survivors.

We cannot give reconpensations for bad plays for bouth sides.

I bet he plays killer with his low mmr and wins and them comes here complain, another "comp player since 2016" it looks like.

I have a friend that played on the killer side after hearing me complaining.

He: "The killer side is eazy. I don't know what you mean?"

    Me: "Wait."

    After a month he understood.

There are so many reasons people DC.

    1. Because they can, very small penalty system making it easier for people to DC on a whim.
    2. killer they dont like. can be any killer, name 1 killer and someone has DC at the start because they find the killer boring… Myers, wraith, trapper.
    3. map they dont like. they used to DC in loading screen when they saw someone bringing an offering they didnt like. They see hawkins map offering….DC in loading screen. since offerings have been nerfed this has been less but people still DC when they get a random map they dont like.
    4. Tunneling. Some people cant counter tunneling so instead of practicing they just give up and DC.
    5. team mate they are in swf with has died so they DC to join the friend and look for another match together.
    6. genuine connection issues
    7. pure rage. someone could have had a run of bad games then the instant they are downed the rage boils over and they DC.
    8. going for challenges, stuns, blinds. if the killer has lightborn and a team has gone full flashlight build, i have seen them DC over this because they cant do what they intended to do in the match so they look for another one.
    9. the strangest reason i have seen and had confirmed by the player was they dont like the players skin/clothes and they would have left the lobby before the match started but they didnt know because they were on the toilet.

    Ok

Most of them are not valid reasons to DC and should be punishable by denying character progress on next game or lock the player from starting.

The "because I" reason is one of the bigest problem in dbd. The game is team based and you can't change it without breaking it. So meaking it "I wanna to leave and i can" leaves your team on disadwantage and makes other expirience wors. Meaking it one survivor can do anything and don't need others to progress the game makes him a powerhouse.

Part of what I think is happening is there is an issue of we have been given all the "tools" but no matter what each side counters the other. If we are constantly just countering killer and killer is constantly countering us, its defeating to see that sometimes no matter what perk you equipped its not enough to actually save you. Because in the end a killer has a huge lunge, can down through pallet stuns, and has more base kit speed. Unless you are really good at the juicing and looping, youre dying. But if youre good at juicing and looping youre the problem and killers hate you so they complain about you until now they can just teleport across the maps or fly in 4 seconds or less from 1 end or the other and hinder you at 12%. The truth of all the perks that DBD has created has only angered each side and caused an outcry for a way to counter. But 1 killer perk usually counters about 4 or 5 survivor perks. The structure of the game is so deep, they need to make a whole new setup.

    True

I think that the worst thing for this game is MMR

This game is like Mario party with MMR

You come for fun and use all the perks. Sometimes you slap the enemy sometimes they slap you.

But adding MMR makes most of the games very close so the playstyle and killers and perks going to be eliminated until there is only few reasonable options.

No, they don’t. They suddenly appeared all over the place here conveniently while mods are on holiday break to intentionally antagonize “killer mains.”

    That can be true.

The part with generator was odd.

I as a killer in this situation prefere the unhook to be first because It expose that on this area are two survivors and 90% gen so i have 9 secunds if the unhooked one is escaping from the area and if not 7 secunds and even when gen gets done i have a injured survivor to tunel.

My play completed the generator and give max 2 seconds for the killer to react and if the killer was coming anyway the hooked one still have 60 seconds left.

sounds like a low mmr you're in as this stuff is the minority for me. all of those things happen in my matches, but usually the abandons occur when the killer is stomping and there's little hope of comeback.

also…don't do gens beside a hooked teammate if killer is not camping. take them off hook and finish gen or you're just wasting time for killer to come back and guard hook.

    You play killer?

  • @jedimaster505 said:

yeah they sometimes quit for petty reasons. most of the time though, it's because the killer is OP and exploiting cheese tactics.

    I don't think so.

I see people DC when something unplesant for them happens.

I was starting to repair the gen with abowe 90% progres next to fresh hooked survivor and DC. I finished the gen and safe the bot. The killer got two notifications in two seconds. And then i get messaged how bad was my play and lern to play

The survivor stun the killer and wanted to do two vaults but the killer had enduring and grabbed him. DC

The survivor droped shack palet in front of winded up Huntres and gets downed. DC

The wraith bell starts playing. DC

see the survivors meaking bad plays / decisions, hiting DC, complayning and saying it's killer fault. I don't have problems with kilkers in this game i even think that the survivor site is eazy now, when you know what you doing.

I play this game for a long time and lately the developers childproofing everything and survivors complain even more.
