Honestly, this whole stream was nothing more than the same “we’ll be making changes soon™“ meme that has been ongoing for years. It’s incredibly easy to keep telling your audience “just wait for the awesome stuff we have coming!” and not actually follow through on any of it. Maybe I’m being unreasonable, but I’m getting pretty impatient. A lot of what they announced are basic changes that 1) shouldn’t take much time or effort to implement and 2) things that a lot of players have been asking for for years.

If you all of a sudden got excited about the game because of yet more empty promises, you’re going to be sorely disappointed. I hope BHVR proves me wrong this time.

Yeah the whole thing reeks of desperation to me personally. They have ignored all this stuff and now that other similar games are out/coming out, they choose this time to fix stuff that we've been asking for for a long time? Seems off to me. Maybe I'm wrong but when they've put fixes off or say they are "too much work" , doesn't make me believe that these changes are anything but forced and not them caring about the game or what their player base wants.

    1. It's subjective about whether or not taking time away from producing DLC's would work - a lot of games rely heavily on new content to keep the game fresh so I am sure there's reasons as to why this isn't viable in the present time

That was one of the mods responses to someone asking why don't they fix the game before they do more dlc so you can see where their priorities are.

As long as people keep giving them money, then this is how it's going to be. When 5 out of 6 perks just released don't work, (not to mention the 100 plus new bugs that came with this patch alone,) and have the audacity to ask us to vote for the "labor of love" award it's shows what they think of us.

They keep giving us a broken product and we keep giving them money so why would they change anything?

  • If this was a first time thing then I'd be more inclined to forgive. Every patch they break a bunch of things, fix 25-50 percent of the things they break, then release a new patch that breaks a bunch of other things. Granted it's never happened on this big of a scale before but it's looks like they threw out a bunch of stuff to get money and left testing and bug reporting up to us.

If they choose to actually spend time and right their wrongs, then it's possible for me. Unfortunately I have a feeling not even 25 percent of it will be fixed before they decide to release another broken killer/survivor/cosmetic cash grab.

What good does putting out more dlc if the base game is broken? I'm sure you're aware of the list of over 100 bugs and issues that this patch alone has caused making even swinging weapons with some killers doesn't even work right. I don't know if you're apart of the dev team or just a mod here but the only way this even makes a little sense is if you're just trying to rope new people to buy the game or into in game purchases. If the base game stays or keeps getting broken over and over, the diehard players are going to stop playing then new dlc means nothing cause you have no one to buy it.

After the sorry excuse for a Halloween event and everything this patch has brought, it literally just seems like the devs don't care and are just putting out broken content for a cash grab.

I think the devs have lost all their goodwill and benefit of doubt with this last patch. What happens in the next couple weeks or month might actually kill this game if they keep showing they don't care and just in it for the money.

  • Yup as one streamer who shall named be named said, the next couple months are going to show if the devs actually give a ######### about us or if they're just still here for the money. I only started playing maybe 3 months ago and initially had fun, then started a couple bugs here and there. I looked into things and honestly I don't know why this player base has put up with their crap for so long.

I think the last couple months is evidence of what they think of us and their game. Their sad excuse for a Halloween "event" and now releasing a dlc that broke/bugged over 100 things in game and people still paid money for it and B.S. skins. It's why they're gonna keep releasing broken content and not fix core issues that have been around for years.

I hope the outrage from the patch gets them on the right path but as long as people keep throwing money at them, I don't see it happening.

We need an actual petition from players across all platforms. Maybe on another website with assistance from a fog whisperer or fog whisperer(s). I guarantee you that everyone is dissatisfied with this chapter and a real petition for a health chapter by at most players of the game would have some sort of impact. The only problem with that is it might not even get the attention (although it is worth a shot) and you need to gather people to sign it.

An organized player strike would get their attention real fast. I doubt it could happen but if they see the player count dip a lot I bet we would see some of the fixes and changes come real quick.

Ehh, say what you will about BHVR I've never had a censorship problem really. They've been pretty good about that much.

I've had a comments deleted from my history and from the thread they were in without any reason from the mods and completely gone from my comment thread history. One was a thread from today that's now gone, the other is still up but my comment is just gone without even getting notified why or even the reason it was removed....

I do, yes, seeing as how I bought it on release. My point is that saying "there's no point, DbD is bad forever" is not productive, unless your goal is to get the devs to stop working on the game altogether.

Do you see a problem with that though? You paid full price for a game that wasn't even half of what they promised upon release. Then on top of that had to wait a year and dlc, (not sure if it was free or paid dlc but still) for the game to be what it was supposed to be from the start. Developers now don't even have to finish or test new game releases nowadays since they still get their money and we get to be glorified alpha/beta testers. It shouldn't take a community up in arms to get game developers to actually deliver what was promised from the get go.

  • I feel your pain. 2 weeks ago I had 3 games in a single day that 3 different sets of 3 survivors three gened themselves, all left via the hatch with keys they found in chests. Booted the game up today and the same thing happened first match again except I got the baby dwight that was busy teabagging while I closed it right in front of him. Turned the game right off after and done until stuff starts getting fixed like keys and match making.

Key rework is so simple too, just let the key holder escape and no one else or don't let the hatch spawn in til gens are done. Right now it's a get outta jail free card for when the survivors screw up.

  • If you're looking for a good killer streamer Pro Vengeance is really good. Hes lesser known but he rotates killers every game and you can pick up a lot from watching him. Plus he has a win streak going of over 300 in a row, ( going by at least 3k per match since the hatch is rng). Not really too talkative but solid killer gameplay.

    Streams on youtube not twitch.

I will say that regardless of your beliefs though, hatch is poorly designed. It encourages the last 2 survivors to hide, instead of do their objective so that the other one can get caught and they can get the hatch.

It also encourages the killer to slug 1 player and leave them on the ground, giving you 4 minutes to hunt the second survivor. This leads to extremely boring gameplay for everyone involved. The fun of DBD is interaction between the killer and survivor. Not everyone hiding for several minutes. Sure, hiding can be an aspect of the game, but generally only is in short bursts., but this isn't a "hide and seek" game at it's core.

Had a match on swamp that the last 2 survivors hid for 15 minutes not doing gen not moving or anything. Having the potential to escape via the hatch without completing the gens promotes this kind of play and it's counter productive.

I personally don't have any problems with the hatch after the gens are done cause that can actually be a fun/tense little bit of gameplay but having it spawn or activate before then especially when they can open it early with keys is just dumb. I lost 3 survivors 3 times today alone, swf group 3 gened themselves twice and I guess the 3rd group just had enough of the big bad clown and just bounced. Sad part is they didn't bring keys with them they found them in game.

How is that fair to the killer? It's like if you playing cod or some other competitive game and the other side just decides leaves before the game is complete and counts as loss to you even though they were the ones left early.

There's nothing wrong with the hatch. Keys are the problem.

Yup keys need to go. I've had 3 games today alone where the survivors 3 gen themselves and left via the hatch instead of finishing. Sad part is that the keys were found in match too. I either avoid lobbies where someone is bringing a key in or I absolutely tunnel anyone that brings a key so it doesn't get used. Either they should go or maybe only let the person with the key through the hatch. Theres already enough second and third chance perks for survivors to be another that's a free escape after they keep messing up

  • Are they still working on it or is it going to stay this way? 4 outta 5 games tonight had at least 3 purple or red rank survivors and 1 random other rank that could be higher or lower. I just got the game and at rank 16. This has been a pretty consistent thing throughout playing killer but never with survivor. I would think it would be a waiting time issue but I can find a game in under a minute most of the time.
