The reason you are red rank without the matching skill set is because they favor the killers in this game. Just have to show up, hit a survivor or two, camp your first hook or tunnel until disconnect or dead and you'll max out on points.
The toxic survivors are a product of the tormenting killers and barring witness to all the hard work you put in during the match to only see a fraction of the killers reward.

I'm writing this post with a heavy heart due to the wave of dc's that have been plaguing our beloved game. From what I've gathered from in-game experience and reading this message board, the culprit seems to be a portion of the console base that are convinced that it is unfair that they are required to play against "superior" pc players. I'm here to tell you that you severely misunderstand the situation and your "protest disconnects" are only ruining the health of the game.
How can I say this you may ask? It's because I've been playing DBD on pc for 15 months now and . . . I've only ever used a CONTROLLER!!! Yes, I know this is sacrilege but frankly I don't care. I switched to pc gaming from consoles several years back because controller support had become so widely adopted. I'm sure I'm not the only one. It's the best of both worlds really. You get the granular control over fps and such but you can sit back and relax with a controller in hand. I sit in a computer chair all day for work. I don't want to have to when playing games at home and that's why we live in a world with options.
Because of this I can tell you that, aside from framerates, pc players do not have an overall advantage over console players. I've only ever used a controller and I've managed to be able to learn how to loop killers well and escape as survivor. I've also managed to hold my own as a controller killer and secured many 4k's over pc survivors. I think too many console players have heard the phrase "pc master race" too many times and have taken it to heart when it was really a phrase born of a time when pc's and consoles were completely different beasts with very few overlapping titles.
I know this is a long post but my point is this recent wave of disconnects is not proving any point and only damaging the health of the game. You're just going to have to learn to adapt to some new playstyles. It's no different than having to learn to adapt when a new killer comes out or a killer is reworked which is something we all have to deal with every few months or so.
TL;DR: The playing field is more fair than you think, you just have adjust to different play styles. I can say this with confidence because I've only played on pc and never used m/k, only a controller. Please stop dc'ing. You're ruining the game experience for everyone.
I believe there is truth to this being a reason some of the mass disconnects are happening but it definitely isn't the main reason. Survivors are sick of the game being changed to only favor the killers. Killer mains flood and troll this forum and bombard it with complaints about the survivors skills and tactics we have learned over the years to survive. Instead of killers trying to learn and get better they take the easy route and come online to throw a tantrum until the developers believe it's an issue and make a change that negatively affects survivors. Even a killer main left on a comment on your thread stating he "constantly gets 4k" that right there shows something is wrong and I'm sure he isn't the only one. The disconnects are happening because survivor mains concerns get ignored or steamrolled here in the forums so it's our only way of protesting the unfairness. I hope it continues and gets worse because something needs to change. Add penalty times, even derank us it won't make a difference it's a small price to pay to be heard over the toxic people here on the forums.

IIrc, Unnverving doesn't work on DS? Also, it's a mild counter even if it works. Most survivors will hit it anyways.
SG/Unbreakable/Tenacity no skilled killer leaves a survivor on the ground that long and if so theres Nurses calling, Bloodlust, Whispers etc. You're just plain wrong.
s for the the Lunge attack and I have plenty of recordings that show proof the Lunge attack can close an ridiculous amount of distance and yes almost all killers start it on one side of the wall to wrap around to the other side to avoid a pallet stun.Hello Latency, i would like to introduce you to this man.
maps have gotten smaller, less pallets and windows are available, jungle gyms have been removed or modified and the fact our exit doors are right next to each other on most maps with shorter maps makes no sense and given the fact how fast most killers can travel. You know why that was done... right? Or are you just implying they are just "nerfing" survivors just because.
It still something against it and after we are free you have plenty of ways of catching up and or finding us. Or are you saying that survivors get free and disappear just because of DS? It’s a perk that gives us a small chance and makes you work a little harder so killers just complain about it nonstop.
If you play afraid of DS and leave us on the ground then that’s your fault and means killers need to play with more skill.
So I guess with all the videos out there showing all the long lunges done by killers is latency on survivors ends too? Well that’s awesome all killers get the “killer” connection.
yeah because killers would let their anger issues get the best of them and they would tunnel a survivor that could run them for 3-4 gens and then there was an uproar of cries from killers so they had to change it.

The game‘s balance has been improved so much over the past years. Killers aren‘t so underpowered anymore, not even close. Survivor isn‘t that easy anymore, playing survivor well against good killers definitely takes much more skill now. The game is in a pretty good state balance wise.
I agree with you, it did start to improve but then it went to far. Seeing a fair share of deaths and escapes turning into matches ending a couple minutes in because killers one way or another are able to slug every survivor has shown the scale has been tilted. I never said nor do I want easy matches there’s absolutely no fun in that but I definitely don’t want multiple impossible matches either. Survivors don’t have a way to escape in the first few minutes of the game. Gen rushing still takes time and a very organized and well executed plan with very little interruptions from the killer most likely with SWF and how likely is that when majority of games is with randos? Also the comment that everyone makes about it’s a matter of being a skilled survivor can easily be said about killers so it’s pointless to say anymore. Back when the game “favored survivors” killers should have been fine with how the game was just use more skill and don’t complain...

DS, Soul Guard, unbreakable, tenacity, etc. Now name good killer perks. As for Mori, yeah its good, but that has been since it came out. Dodge lunges since they really aren't that long and difinatly can't go around walls so you have probably got some really bad killers.
DS can easily be hindered with Unnerving presence, as for SG/Unbreakable/Tenacity no skilled killer leaves a survivor on the ground that long and if so theres Nurses calling, Bloodlust, Whispers etc. As for the the Lunge attack and I have plenty of recordings that show proof the Lunge attack can close an ridiculous amount of distance and yes almost all killers start it on one side of the wall to wrap around to the other side to avoid a pallet stun. Both sides have their own strengths and weaknesses it’s supposed to be balanced that’s how it works but small changes can cause a shift and I’m just saying there have been some recent changes that only effect the survivors so now it’s definitely Killer favored. Maps have gotten smaller, less pallets and windows are available, jungle gyms have been removed or modified and the fact our exit doors are right next to each other on most maps with shorter maps makes no sense and given the fact how fast most killers can travel. It was just so much fun playing this game because the chases were fair, I died as much as I escaped and that’s just not the case anymore even with our amazing new perks. This area is for feedback to the developers and they hear you killers ALL the time so I wanted to give them some feedback from survivors perspective not discuss it with forum dwellers.

Cater to Killers!!??? Are you kidding me. The majority of the past survivor perks were way better and more interesting then our past killer perks, not to mention the ridiculous amount of pallets there are in each map. If you are burned out/don't like the game, that's fine and you can leave, but you don't need to cry about it here.
So you mean the perks that buy survivors a few extra seconds before a killer passively gets faster, catches up then can perform a lunge of great lengths that can even wrap around walls and mori the survivor after only one hook. I guess you are right we have it very easy, I forgot about our game changing perks.

In Low Ranks, Killers immediately tunneling Survivors off hook is a legitimate issue that Decisive can help fix. At high ranks though, Borrowed Time is common and very few Killers hard camp.
At Rank 10, Decisive punishes campers and protects against bad teammates going for unsafe saves. It usually gets picked up by the Killer in the first maybe 15-20 seconds of the timer.
At Rank 1, Decisive prevents Killers from gaining momentum and forces them to slug. If they get stunned, it's usually at the 50-59 second marker or because the Survivor forces a pickup with the locker exploit (no, its not a tech).
Rework the perk.... again. Or just decrease the timer to from 60 seconds to 30-40 seconds. Then it will still punish hard tunneling, but it will be very hard to accidentally pickup Decisive if you're legitimately not tunneling and its just a fast paced game. Or if the Survivors are doing endgame mechanic abuse and getting everyone's Decisive activated so the Killer can't pickup
Sorry but the sickness of camping and tunneling runs rampant through all ranks. The survivors are given these perks to combat this issue and with the many perks and abilities killers have to find survivors coupled with the greater possibility to down an injured survivor, 60 seconds is a fair amount of time. Perk selection is given to both survivor and killer so maybe try selecting those that may assist you with the possibility of encountering a survivor with Decisive Strike. Also if the timer was lowered to make it easier for high rank killers it will only make matters worse for those lower ranked survivors. We would most likely see a higher amount of killers deranking than we already have just to take advantage of this. I agree there are many changes needed in this game and either side will always suggest the other so in the mean time just play both sides an equal amount of time to see how your feelings towards certain perks would be fair if you relied on them in game.

Then don't. Come be a survivor and see how fun it is to play against completely op killers. Stop complaining about the little perks us survivors do have. Thanks.
