  • But whos to say we dont already have lgbt characters? We have so many characters, why do any of them need to broadcast their sexuality for it to count?

Keep in mind Heterosexuality isnt expressly represented in the game either. It is just the assumption that unless someone broadcasts that they are different, they must be more of the same.

But they can just as easily subvert that expectation and whos to say they wouldnt? Its because it just wouldnt matter what their sexualities are whatever their sexualities happen to actually be.

He doesn't fit in with the theme of the game. His sounds, animations, design, power, and music don't fit well with dbd. But that's my opinion, I'm allowed to have my opinion and you're allowed to have yours. Don't tell me that "my arguements don't make sense" because we're not trying to argue anything. We're giving opinions.

What is the "fit" for dbd tho? It is very well within the established lore of the universe. The entity captures people who have an affinity or potential for murder and violence. Thats it.

That is the long version and short version of the entity's criteria for its killers. Anyone can be a killer.

With that in mind its not a contest of apprearance. Just results. In that regard it allows the universe to expand beyond the narrow scope of what the average person expects horror to look like on a superficial value.

Keep in mind Ghostface is just a scrawny guy wearing a halloween costume he bought at the store.

And we just discovered that, within the lore of course, survivors are killers in alternate realities such as killer Yui but does killer Yui fit with the rest of the cast just on her appearance (as cool as it is?)

Ji-woon is a psychpath that covets bright flashy showmanship with a deadly sadistic twist. That is shock horror.

Its totally fine to not like him for your personal reasons. But how does it not fit within a lore that says it does?

  • Before DBD i was a L4D and League player. I spent 3000+ hours in l4d versus prior to spending 3000+ in dbd. You can imagine how excited i was when the l4d cross over happened in dbd.

  • My queues have been inconsistent but personally they haven't been that bad. I think you might be a little unlucky .

Yeah, let's be honest... Old Legion was one of the worst things to have ever been in the game. They were "balanced" in that they couldn't kill you very fast (without Frank's), so 2 survivors would likely have a chance of making it out. But, in the 1v1, they had no counterplay, which was just absurd.

Legion in their current state as a killer who can spread injury but has to finish you off as a normal killer is alright. The only issue is that he needs to be better at the spreading damage and slowing down the game parts, and have a smoother transition from Frenzy to Normal M1 killer (especially if the Legion plays well). They'll likely never be top-tier but they're relatively balanced in that they're not an instant win or loss either.

Yea for sure. What frenzy does could just use a smoother transition for sure.

The quality of life improvements could come from rewarding frenzy chains. For each successful hit you get to keep a chain going could reduce the fatigue, or recover small portions of your meter, or frenzy gets faster each chain hit (ok maybe not that one lol but you get the idea lol). I would like to see that sort of thing to reward getting effective chainsgoing

I have often read this myth about that the Legion had killed the playerbase, but:

-As a Legion main to that time, I had not even a handfull of negative comments in my endgame-chats and not a single one on my steam profile.

-Instead I had either silence, or nice chats with the survivors. Going from "wp" and so on, to even a half hour about the Legion, Survivors, DBD in general and that all in a friendly atmosphere, without a single one mentioning that the Legion needed to be changed or was op. Instead they enjoyed the matches.

-Besides my personal experience to that time: The only huge hit that DBD had taken to the time of the rework was not before the rework (as people like you say), it was ->after<- the rework* and what does that mean? It does mean that enough people were fed up with dbd and how the devs treated the Legion playerbase to that time and that is totally acceptable.

Nor was it enough that we had to face, to that time, the toxic part of the community in the forums, also the devs were banning some Legionplayers and scamming every Legionplayer to that time.

To this day, is this unique in the entire history of this game!

What do you say to that? But let me bet... We are still the evil ones, right? Just because 1-2 streamers and their audiences were crybabies -_-.

*I had see it in the Steamstats.

What? No. I love Legion! I absolutely love the idea and aesthetic they have. Legion is the only killer that i truly love playing and can conform to the idea of "maining"

It was definitely not a myth that legion was so unfun to play against it stagnated the community (no not ALL their fault lol but they were icing on the cake lol). And any game i got to actually play them was like christmas for me, whether i won or lost.

I was personally happy with the nerfs they recieved because if it meant i could play with people dcing on me lol but i do think they all they needed to do was address the main reason they were broken which was moonwalk tunneling and death marking. I would love for them to bring back the on-hit interaction frenzy had thats what allowed them to have more fun options with a power that isnt meant to be lethal itself and i think ot was fine for them to have it.

As someone mentioned they are technically mid tier which is TECHNICALLY balanced even if they just dont feel like it. theyre unsatisfyingly "balanced" but they could just use... SOMETHING ya know?

Also if youre a Legion main, HUG ME, BROTHER! โ™ฅ

If you would revert all his changes, Legion would still be a bad Killer. They were always a weak Killer, at any time. They are not super-bad IMO, but far from good.

You simply cannot have a Power which allows to vault windows and pallets and expect that the Kit of that Killer will also be strong.

Are you sure youre talking about the same game everyone else here is talking about?

Pre nerf Legion is the reason the devs are so scared and cautious with killers now because they were the most broken and unbalanced thing to ever be created and it killed their playerbase more than anything, even more than the Drought of 2017 did (the content gap between Hag and Doctor.)

There was even PTB 2.5 where they BUFFED frenzy into a two-tap on injured survivors with franks tape and for just that brief moment they were Nurse tier. If they found you, you were down. At least 1 person at a time was garunteed to not be able to play the game if they were playing against Legion. The most you could do was waste their time for as long as possible but always going down. Its because they COULD go over and through survivor defenses and have that exploitable lethality (with mixtape and moonwalking) Obviously that never made it out of ptb lolol

They were strong but for completely all the wrong reasons.

You're right. In this game where a dismembered woman can phase through reality, a interdimensional monster tears through dimensions, and a cowboy that made a speargun that sometimes somehow doesn't injure people despite going straight through their sternum a fat clown man drinking his own poison to power up in this living dimension doesn't make sense. What was I thinking.

Yes exactly because thats not how poison works or or wouldnt be poison. Yes it is a fantasy world with weird magical ghosts but anesthesia is not one of those magical things because its already been written realistically. Whether its science fiction, or just a limitation with the game itself it still needs to be consistent as thats what good writing is.

I mean im not talkin [BAD WORD] on you it was just silly to think lol like "hah you dumb bro pass them chips"

Im sure you could think of something much better and more practical than that. That was like just the first thing that came to your mind but it was so dumb lol

I mean how does it make sense for the Clown to breath it all in and not pass out

I mean no he would be affected by it like everyone else but its just that interaction doesnt need to exist because of how killer needs to be played lol

  • @NomiNomad said:

The biggest things I want for Clown is a passive reload to his bottles, and something to give him a bit of map pressure. Maybe drink one of his bottles to let him zoom around the map for a short amount of time. Then again, I'm not a Clown main. I'm sure @TheClownIsKing can put some ideas forth. Also, remove the noise he makes when vaulting. Why does he have that? No other killer has that.

How does it make sense for someone to drink Anasthesia and move faster???

Stealth is a viable and important part of DbD survivor play. You are under no obligation to make a killers job easier by letting them get into chase. You can be productive and while being stealthy. The one point I will agree with is sometimes you need to take the heat to keep someone else in the game. I hate the solo Q mentality of, the games not going well, let me hide andl just wait on hatch. To me that is not stealth, that's just garbage, takes no skill and shows no teamwork. The game would be better without you in it.

Stealth sometimes can be viable but it is always going to be circumstantial and often a detriment when being too stubborn to realize when to play stealthy and when not to.

Killers like doctor and legion exist, perks like infectious bbq stridor whispers exist, addons like all seeing snd sratched mirror and amandas letter exist, boldness is a category for a reason and i remember when the Evader emblem was broken it would actually punish you FOR being stealthy and you couldnt pip because you hid too well all game.

Stealth is not a superior way to play the game becauase of how the way the game is designed in the first place. It is a circumstantial option. There are simply games where the circumstance is that you cant hide. And in disregard of that circumstance and trying to play stealthy anyway is what might actually get you found and hinder your team.

....I love that as a killer so please... keep doing that ๐Ÿ˜

  • I love how some people really cant be bothered to read, but can type so much expecting others to.

Honestly with the way the game is currently balanced it is a needed mechanic.

A decent amount of loops are safe, and those that aren't can be used to string multiple strong loops together.

Plus with how quickly games can go, something is needed to make chases end sooner.

If loops, game time, and perks were balanced. It could be safely removed.

( this is without mentioning the slow moving killers )

This is why its a friggin test bro. Calm down. Its a test. The numbers will decide the truth.

The question: Do we really still need bloodlust?

This test will provide an answer. If youre a killer main this would be even more in your interest to play to either prove that the game still needs bloodlust OR realize that maybe you can do alright without it.

Binding of Kin is the first dlc I'm not gonna buy. I learned my lesson from buying blight. Until the game is in an acceptable stage I'm done wasting money.

...but Blight is a good killer???

  • The thing is that the ptb is for testing. Contrary to people that just want to get their hands on the shiny new content early so they dont need to feel left out in the twitch chat of their choice and call it a day, its meant to be tested. You cant properly test something without knowing its limits, you cant find its limits until you stress it.

The Siblings wont become better for live servers if they arent stressed with a challenge in their beta test.

You dont need to care but at least understand what it means for Players to Test the Build.

A little too much doom and gloom in this thread.

1.) The Killer concept is just amazing and wonderfully unique.

2.) The Killer is super fun to play against.

That's 2 out of 3 of the most important things. They just need to iron out the killers design and insure the killer's fun level to play is a little closer to the level it is to play against. A few well-placed buffs are all you need: first one I'd do - the same animation on Victor when he's being controlled or when he's just standing still. Let that be a mind game killers can play.

Survivors can dive into lockers all they want for temporary safety... but then they have to decide whether Big Sis is coming for them, or if Victor is just waiting patiently.

Yea i think this idea was a fantastic concept and i dont feel dissapointed with the concept, only the execution needed more work.

I could be wrong and thats totally fine but i think her power can turn out to be a dark horse once (and if) it recoves the neccesary tweaks.

  • To this day laurie sits at level 1. When the original DS first released in 2016 i refused to use it past a couple times because it was associated with so much toxicity, it was such a game breaking chapter. The only reason i have any of Lauries teachables is through the shrine.

  • I think its too early to say one way or the other. People need more time to learn and adapt to their playstyle. People thought spirit was originally weak and underwhelming until people learned how strong her power was when used correctly.

Personally i feel a sense of that with the siblings; when people learn to micromanage them and what the best way and tactic they need theyll be huge threats.

I think the time it takes to regain control of charlotte is disgustingly long and vics hitbox is way too inconsistent. I think they can be tweaked for the better.

I dont think we should decide this early.
