no league one is not a cash grab, hell nasus skin was out before dbd even release and is still better than oni skin

Yeah I own Infernal Nasus and it's trash just like 95% of League skins, you listen to the new voice lines for like 5 games and then turn off voices again so you can actually play the game. I guess if you want to pay 15$ for a tiny fire FX on your weapon then more power to you but imma have to pass

Dude, survivor ques used to take 15 mins on PS4, a survivor being toxic cost you at times, at minimum a de-pip and a 15 min wait.

and btw voice comms exist there, people can send you hate mail much easier on console, and I've been threatened and bullshitted in this game. If you actually ready post you might know it has gone farther than just a text in end game chat, which isn't even on console so your whole argument is a strawmen. But keep being condescending and wrong, you literally are flexing about what community is more toxic. I'm sure that energy gets you alot of positive attention.

Also good for CSGO and League of Legends, I guess?

I don't understand what you are trying to say, my point is that I would 100% of the time take the antics that go on in DBD over nearly any other competitive game hands down, like I said being held hostage in a game for 30+ minutes and then losing cause a teammate had a tantrum is far worse than someone telling me to kill myself over the internet. Also as a survivour you are the main factor in your score, if someone is trolling or AFK then it is still within your power to earn a black pip and not de-rank. Also with my original post I had no intention of being rude or condescending

Dude, almost nothing you mentioned here was anymore toxic than what happens in DBD, especially on console. You will get the same words, the same #########, the same TorreNted harrasment (in fact probably more because steam and the like are better able to handle bans) and the same outside and inside behavior.

Sexual harrasment, racial slurs, threats if violence- I'm pretty sure someone even has gotten doxxed

The worst of it is those games you have actually have a functional competitive component. No one takes a DBD tourney that serious, its a niche, fairly casual game.. and in spite of that it rivals the games you mentioned with a much smaller community and a divide that basically creates derisiveness from the nature of the "roles" and your preference for either. At least in those communities, most folks can agree on certain things that need nerfing and what should receive balance changes. Good luck achieving that here.

I don't think someone calling me a bad word or insulting me based on a skin color is NEARLY as bad as someone on League INTENTIONALLY trying to make me and the entire team lose as well as giving the enemy team a free win is the same, if someone on DBD "upsets" you can literally get up from your PC and go do something else with no repurcusions, not on League though guy says he's going to break into your house **** your dog and then kill your family all while walking into the enemy team but if you leave the game or AFK then EZ ban for you nice 20+ minutes wasted on nothing but free rank loss and frustration just play better next time right? I guess words on a screen that ultimately have no impact on the game is somehow worse than someone actually ruining your game and wasting your time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Stop

    It's not, It's just not.

I swear to God if anybody ever even mentions the fact that the number "4" is shaped like Pyramid Head I'm going to lose it. OF COURSE IT IS It's the FOURTH anniversary aka the number Four. The devs can't change how the f*ck numbers or time works I could have told you that the number 4 looks kind of like Pyramid head four years ago and it would be utterly meaningless. That is purely coincidental, that's not actual evidence.

I mean seriously "The number four has a triangle in it... Pyramids are made of triangles... OHMYGODIT'SPYRAMIDHEAD"

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/957/image.png

That sh*t is conspiracy on the level of drawing triangles everywhere and saying "illuminati confirmed"

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/366/image.png

It is stylized in the form appropriate for a horror game / thematic. There is nothing more to read into that image, because if the 4 had significance than that means the whole image would require significance, what does the color pallete mean, why did they choose black and gold? Where is the connection of Gold to the Silent Hill franchise? What does the Skull mean? Why is there a black liquid oozing from the skull? How is that connected to Silent Hill? and so on and so on.

By this logic you'd also have to contend with Candyman as a potential candidate, based off the image alone. You don't have to change the number 4 that much if at all to draw comparisons to Pyramid Head, in fact I'd say it'd be basically impossible to draw the number 4 without looking like a side profile of pyramid head that's why I say it's completely coincidental. However, the decision to drag out the last line of the number 4 all the way down to the bottom of the image slowly getting thinner and thinner is a deliberate art choice made by whoever on the team was responsible for creating the art.

It almost looks like it's dripping, and what is gold and drips slowly like that? Honey. What killer is connected to Honey? How about The Candyman who was coated in the stuff and burned alive. That and considering the repeated use of the gold color spattered and speckled across the entire image I'd say you would have a stronger case for Candyman than Pyramid Head.

If I was a betting man I would be putting my money on Candyman considering all of those were deliberate art choices the team had to go out of their way to create making them much more likely to be hints. Whereas almost any 4 you could draw would at least look similar to the image of a side profile of pyramid head.

However, I don't put stock into either theory because it's just a teaser image for the 4th year anniversary, there are likely no "clues" or secret "hints" to find there, that would be far too predictable and easy to puzzle out. It's not like the third year anniversary teaser with the blood spatters making a three had any connection to the nearest chapter that was going to be released then at the time (Which I believe was Ghostface if I remember correctly)

And to put a serious dent in your it is "iconic in the world of horror since it's release" and "classic" argument, (which was partly based on Wikipedia of all things, really? Wikipedia is 50% of your sources? The one source that every english class ever tells you not to cite??) it is frankly not. "The world of horror" as a whole is far older than video games, and to be quite frank the video game industry is still very, VERY much new and pales in comparison to the much older and established industry of Film and TV who reach audiences at a far more expansive level and far wider range beyond even the most popular video games.

The characters that are most well recognized in terms of horror but just generally in all things are the ones that are shown on the big screen, people who aren't gamers are not going to know who Pyramid Head is. Hell, I'm a gamer and I'm not interested in Konami or the Silent Hill franchise though I've heard about it. Making such an announcement would only be interesting to a select audiences ears and nobody else, but those same people would on the other hand recognize the bad-ass Xenomorph, or super creepy Pennywise the dancing clown, or the Predator, or Pinhead, Candyman, literally anybody else.

Can Pyramid Head ever make it into the game? Absolutely, and he'd probably be super dope and creepy too. But for this chapter? The one that has been hyped up as the singlehandedly most important and emotional chapter in the history of Dead By Daylight TO DATE? Hell no. If that were actually true I and I assume very, very, very many other people would be incredibly disappointed.

Dunno why you would lose it over the number 4, seeing as how the 4 was intentionally drawn to have a descending front sharp point and not the typical middle connecting flat line across, I guess the artist could of also had a stroke and trailed off in the middle of drawing it but I don't think that would be very likely.

Look it up, dude. Konami literally locked him in their offices and did not let him even go home. Konmi held Kojima hostage. It was not a money thing. It was a long standing feud between Konami and Kojima and they, literally, held him hostage in the offices.

You sound like you have no idea what happened, so just stop trying to talk about it.

How would you like it if BHVR stopped making DBD and just made plinko games? The Trapper Jackpot Machine! The Nurse Pachinko! Would not not feel upset that they ditched the actual fans that made them a company to make some BS not even related to the IP?

It's that they hold many beloved VIDEO GAME IPs and stopped making VIDEO GAMES. So fans are, rightly, upset. Stop with this 'Well, it's just not games YOU want' tripe. The stopped making VIDEO GAMES with their VIDEO GAME IPs. And fans hate them for it. Fans want them to sell the IPs they're not using so we can have a new Silent Hill, or a new Castlevania, etc.

Instead of freaking Castlevania: The Slot Machine.

I would be sad but it's still the company right to do what they want with their property, just like I would be sad if you were renting me a pool in your backyard to use and then you decided you didn't want me to use it anymore, would you rather I respect the decison that you made with YOUR property and that's that or for me to whinge and cry about it like you feel inclined to when a company doesn't do what you want them to? Also you saying he was locked away doesn't make it true, I'll wait until he says it himself and not a moment before cause until then it's all heresay.

    You're still missing my point.

If Konami does not care about video games, Konami will not licence Pyramid Head to BHVR. It has nothing to do with Team Silent; Konami has the final say, and Konami does not do video games anymore. Team Silent can want or not want to make Silent Hill; it's Konami's choice.

And how is it overblown? Konami cancelled Silent Hills, then tried to scour the tech demo off the internet.

If Konami does not give any craps, it's won't be Pyramid Head. Team Silent has 0 say in that. THAT is my point; Konami does not do video games anymore. Team Silent does not matter.

And yes, Konami can do what they want, I did not say they can't. I DID say that they should sell their damn IPs if all they're making is stupid gambling machines with them, because fans want actual video games. Not Silent Hill: The Slot Machine!

It's clear, and has been for years, that Konami does not want to be in video games; they held Kojima HOSTAGE in his office to prevent him from going to a VGA, and they spat out that stupid Metal Gear Survive, and then they've gone radio silent for two years.

So, in short, since Koanmi does not give a crap, it probably won't be Pyramid Head. Team Silent does not factor into it.

Held HOSTAGE and being under a contract (That he agreed to) for a Japanese company that probably doesn't want to waste time and money sending one of their devs overseas are two different things don't you think? And it's funny that you think because Konami doesn't make games that suit you (Gambling games in this case) that they need to sell the IPs when i'm pretty sure the gambling games are made for the vast majority of the Japanese gaming market where gambling and mobile games are quite popular and enjoyed. Doesn't really make sense to whine when you aren't the targeted demographic or even in the same country as the intended consumer IMO.

It's like no one actually played the game.

    Remember how fast he is?

You act like they wouldn't adjust it for DbD gameplay, If they didn't adjust killers for the game then Demogorgon should technically be immune to all stuns ingame considering that he is a near immortal other-dimension being, but he's not, soooooo...

  • Seems very plausible, i'm quite excited :D

Sure, but I don't know how you think it's relevant. Sure, I see more survivors than I do killers, but I'm talking specifically about circumstances where I've played with survivors, either as survivor or killer. Then, later saw some of those same survivors playing as killer, which was a lower rank than their survivor was, playing in a toxic fashion, the kind of toxic they would likely complain about here. Ultimately suggesting that toxic killers are made up of survivors who probably complain about killers being toxic, but are toxic when they play as killer themselves. I guess I'm taking it a step further and suggesting that, survivor mains playing as killer are more likely to be toxic than killer mains playing as killer. So, the quantity of survivors I encounter isn't relevant because I'm not trying to prove a point about the quantity of toxic survivors vs toxic killers. It's survivors that I see playing as killer; is there a disparity there I didn't consider that you can see?

Also, personally, I know when someone is trying to bait me, and I don't pursue them for clicking or tbagging unless I'm in a bad mood. I know they're trying to get me to throw the match. But, I don't hit players multiple times after hooking them, like the survivor mains I've seen do while playing as killer. That's not all they do, I see them tunnel and face camp, too. Then they probably trot onto the message boards and complain about how toxic the killers are, when I bet a large portion of the toxic killers people run into are some of the same survivors on here complaining!

Good write up, at the end of the day I just want both sides to have a good match and everyone to feel like they actually participated instead of it be such a crapshoot where you get some paperskin killer who tunnels [Insert player name here] until they are out of the match because they looked at them wrong.

Yes, please keep equating BP generation to "playing the real game". It's a great conversation starter, I guess.

    Have fun!

You gain rank based on your score, I don't know what else the game needs to give/tell you how to play the game properly but I guess sometimes it's never enough for some people.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1259488#Comment_1259488

Yes, and unhooking someone with the killer right on your back gives you +1000 points, so it must be what you're supposed to do, right?

One has nothing to do with the other, don't be obtuse. You should be embarrassed to have publicly displayed such a failure of logic.

You fail to mention the 500 bonus points you receive for doing the correct play (safe unhook), also gotta love that edgy big brain insult at the end, at least no one talks like that IRL.

Rank 1 as both roles, and ever since the archives launched, I see more survivor mains play in a toxic way as killer than I do killer mains. I'm determining who mains what by their rank as both, because I've seen people play as both. People who are higher ranked as killer are less toxic as killer than the people who are higher ranked as survivor. That doesn't mean that there aren't toxic killers; I can be toxic as a killer main. But, I think it's worth noting, that more often than not, the most toxic players are people who main survivor.

Did you take into account that you see 4x (3x if you are a survivour aswell) as many survivours per game? Also calling survivour behaviour "toxic" is kinda a joke never have I seen it OFFENSIVE when some goober crouch spams and points at me lmao, I thought people got over this teabagging stuff in the Xbox days.

  • @Bovinity said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1259460#Comment_1259460

There's nothing about "the real game" that says the killer has to go after different people.

Don't want to get tunneled? Don't be easy to catch.

Ahh yes the penalties that you receive to your score for camping someone on the hook doesn't indicate one bit that maybe the killer is supposed to be going after other people, I guess you just know better than the devs. 😉

  • @Bovinity said:

Daily reminder if that you think you're being "tunneled", the solution is to play better.

Daily reminder that you being the ONLY survivior that the killer goes after for the enitre game until you die is not something you can play around LMAO, I'm a killer main and do you really think someone can just "pLaY bEtTeR!" to live? No if I was toxic trash I would follow them around and on their first hook get out the smores and tent and that would be the end of the game for them, not only does this behaviour ruin the game for the hooked survivour it ruins it for the other survivours who are now playing the "Hold left click game" instead of the ACTUAL game ya'know the one where the killer goes after different people?
