No - it’s not because of backfilling. I can tell when I get put in a backfill lobby and it doesn’t happen often. The terrible matchmaking occurs on a regular basis even when it’s not a lobby backfill situation.
Just out of curiosity, how can you tell when you're put into a backfilled lobby? It'd be good to be able to see the signs for my games

Personally, wouldn't really be something I'd be interested in.
I think, to avoid the issues others have already mentioned such as same killers vs same survivors, you'd have to limit it to characters that you haven't yet earned the adept achievement / trophy on. Maybe then it becomes a viable alternative to those who are struggling to get the achievements /trophies, but even then, it'd be a queue available to only a limited proportion of the player base and I don't think that is something they'd want to do

I fully agree. I run guide because I know most of the time, I'll be the only one in a lobby that knows what a gen is for. And every single time when I'm on the only gen that is being moved, I'm greeted with a survivor giving the killer a guided tour

queue times for killer in 2v8 in this iteration are the worst to date . It used to be 12 to 15 min in the past for me . Not it is 28 to 30min for one killer game. How does adding play while you wait double to queue time !?
not to mention the massive influx of cheaters . Playing this game is becoming a chore.Probably because people like myself who wouldn't touch killer previously because I didn't want to be sitting around doing nothing are now joining the killer queues and using the play while you wait feature
