I also experienced this bug! The steps are accurate. Glad to see it wasn’t just me!
I’d like to add that the killer is able to hit/ down you while trapped. However, they cannot pick you up and teammates cannot revive you.
Platform: PS4
Played as Nancy
Perks: Iron Will, Dead Hard, Borrowed Time, Spine Chill
I was holding a Fourth Year Med-Kit.
Map: Mother’s Dwelling
A Meg cleansed totem and I was free!

Your blaming your team for you not escaping but you dont have to escape to rank up.
If you do 2 gens get 2 saves and escape 2 good chases you'll rank up
Oh I know I don’t need to escape to rank up. I have no problem ranking up because I’m carrying. My issue is that my teammates are consistently being useless, which makes me have to work harder to have a decent game. I would love to have better teams more often. I actually just played a game with a decent team, but we did go against The Twins so that could be why it went so fast...

I played against a Deathslinger today and it seemed like one of his shots went right through me. He still ended up getting me, but I did feel bad that the chase was longer than it should’ve been.

Man I wish I could have been killer in all those games. Sounds like a great time
The killer was having a blast in those games! Easy wins. A lot of them pity me tbh. They can tell that I’ve just given up so they just stare at me and let me go. They’ll still kill everyone else though.

Every killer can apply pressure. Some more than others but all are able to do at least something to pressure the survivors.
If killers cannot pressure survivors even with high mobility killers (e.g. Hilbilly) then that is a result of a lack of skill.
I agree with you 100%. I play killer and survivor and honestly, I have seen CLOWNS AND BUBBAS apply pressure without tunneling, slugging, camping, and noed (as survivor obviously).
It is hard to apply good and equal pressure in a 1v4 but it isn’t impossible. Yes, it is even harder with certain killers, maps, and even combos.
Playing killer is going to suck early game after the Ruin rework but in my experience as killer (Demogorgon, Hag, GF, main btw :) ), its better mid-late game than early. Why? Because if you can pressure the map properly, you can push for a triple gen. Less map to cover, more likely you’ll beat the survivors.
What I do as killer is I use a 15-second rule. If I start a chase with a survivor, I try my best to land a hit. If I cannot land a hit in 15 seconds (the most I’ll go is 20 but I need to be confident that I can get them), then I move on. Why? Because I’m wasting time on ONE survivor when there’s three more making progress. If I get stunned by a pallet, I destroy it and move on (I try to waste all the good pallets so later in game, I have a better chance of catching a survivor). If you can down/ hook another survivor, then guess what? You’re applying pressure to the survivor (and all other survivors) you couldn’t catch earlier because they either have to stop working on gens to go for the save OR let their teammate die, which makes it harder to work on all gens that need to be done.
If you’re a killer main struggling to get consistent 3-4K games, then I strongly SUGGEST you play survivor for a bit AND LEARN THE SURVIVOR MENTALITY (there’s more to it than DS, DH, Adrenaline, teabagging, and gen rushing). Observe how YOU beat/ avoid killers and use that knowledge to come up with counterplays for when you play killer.
Gen speeds are unfair for killer, I will admit that. ( I feel like killers should have a universal passive that slows down gen progress by 10% for each survivor on the gen WHILE in the killer’s terror radius). There’s other ways to slow the game down though. Run Sloppy Butcher to slow down healing. Run Thrilling Tremors to stop progress on some gens for a short while. Run PGTW to slow down progress on a gen survivors are working on. HECK WHEN IN DOUBT, RUN NOED LOL. Survivors can’t get salty if they die to NOED because they had all game to cleanse totems but they decided to only work on gens.
TLDR: While it is hard, it isn’t impossible to apply pressure as any killer. Best of luck to everyone out there. You can all do it! :)

I was running DH yesterday against a really laggy clown. He injured me and I was going for a window vault and saw the red stain on my back. I used DH and as I got the “Exhausted” effect, he swung at the same time that I dashed and I still went down. Then I was unhooked and he chased me again so I used it again and same exact thing happened. I know I didn’t use it too late because it happened at the same exact time but it was because of his lag

As the survivor “main” who is always the last guy in a match because everyone D/C’d due to slugging, I can say this:
It is NOT the killer’s fault that 3 people went down in one minute. It is the survivors for playing like potatoes and dying so quickly. That’s not all though. The survivors had the audacity to screw over the last survivor by D/C-ing.
Sure it sucks being abandoned like that butI run Bond and I see the survivors running loops wrong or not being able to juke the killer’s attacks :/ When I get found, I let the killer kill me because there’s a 100% chance that I was going to die anyways BUT I can always get my survivor level back easily. Killers can’t.

Survivor: I can’t hit DS to save myself. Every time I hit the skill check, it goes right past it as if I did not press the button but I treat it as if it were a Ruin skill check and I’m decent at hitting those. Also, I’m very inconsistent with looping. Sometimes I can loop a killer for a few gens and others I play like a rank 20 :( Also I can never hit my flashlight saves! Whenever I get a flashlight, it just stays in my inventory
Killer: Early game pressure. I main Demogorgon and I cannot apply early game pressure. 2-3 gens pop before I actually start slowing survivors down and then I get my kills. I don’t have good perks on him though, so that’s probably why

Hi, so the forums are on ######### fire at the moment because of this Ruin change.
I honestly don't think it's that bad, especially if it applies Surveillance (which I honestly think would be a good idea, if it's staying as a hex perk).
There's just one thing I think should be changed: I do not believe this new Ruin should be a hex perk anymore.
I get that all of Hag's perks are meant to be hexes to fit her theme, but let's be real here. The new Ruin is less powerful than the old Ruin, and frankly its effect is not impactful enough to be a hex perk. BHVR, you should always prioritize fun and balance over consistency and lore, in my respectful opinion.
ʷʰᶦˡᵉ ʷᵉ'ʳᵉ ᵃᵗ ᶦᵗ ᶜᵃⁿ ʷᵉ ᵐᵃᵏᵉ ʰᵘⁿᵗʳᵉˢˢ ˡᵘˡˡᵃᵇʸ ᵃ ⁿᵒⁿ⁻ʰᵉˣ ᵖᵉʳᵏ ᵖˡᵉᵃˢᵉ
I 100% agree with what you said about it not being a hex perk anymore. If survivors cleanse it, then its useless and it is not even that overpowered.
I get why other killer mains are complaining and upset but honestly, if you can apply pressure as killer, you can still do good without Ruin. I run Demogorgon at green rank (I get matched with purple and red ranks) without Ruin and I still get 3-4Ks. To please killer mains, BHVR should increase the regression % or increase the gen repair time

Ok this rework isnt that bad but it isnt too great either. I play both killer and survivor so hopefully Im not too biased.
I feel like the concept if this rework is great. Don’t punish new survivors who cant hit those skill checks BUT this rework is making it too easy to get gens done. It is encouraging killers to apply more pressure which will in turn help them learn how to shut down chases quickly.
The devs did not specify if this perk affects all gens not being worked on or just those that the killer damages. I feel like they should keep the current regression increase (whatever % they listed in the notes) for gens they did not damage and are not being worked on. HOWEVER, they should reward the killer by increasing this percentage for gens that they did damage (I’m thinking to 3/4/5%) That way there is more pressure on the survivors to get gens done and it would discourage them from hook bombing or leaving a gen they are working on (if they’re all on a gen, they’re going to be easier to find!)
Sorry if none of this makes sense, it’s my first posted comment ;0
