Killer with a secret offering = me vaulting and attempting to run you for 5 gens. Fite me but not irl but in game.

Which is why I think secret offerings are pointless. Often times I'll get people clearly angry at my secret offering (and sometimes even DCing) thinking it's a Mori... but it isn't, it's a Shroud. I have literally never used a Mori. I have tons of the things hoarded in my inventory because I plan to use them on KYF eventually since that mode is for fun only, but I don't even feel comfortable bringing Shrouds anymore because Survivors will understandably think I'm bringing in something to get an easy win. I think they should make secret offerings not even show up at the start of the match, or just get rid of that concept entirely and make all offerings visible.

  • I would like to know also. I give kudos very often to both Survivors and Killers while playing as either side, do they know that they got kudos at some point? I think it would be nice to get a little notification that you got kudos at the corner of the screen. Maybe show how many kudos a player's gotten next to their username at the end of a match?

Oh I hear you, I wasn't putting you on front street or nothing, I was just saying it is possible if you want to learn, most things aren't out of most people's reach

That's not how I took it, don't worry about it :) I'll probably try these Killers at some point again, but I do have my favorites.

It's not even that deep..if you can learn to play the game as Billy, you can still learn to play as Hag whose on the opposite side of the spectrum in playstyle. People just need to invest the time into learning a character and what they can do instead of assuming after a play session that a killer is useless.

We live in a hot take culture, everybody wants to be the quickest to an opinion right or wrong, researched or not. Good luck getting better, but I suggest taking on the challenge of a new character, seeing how they tick, and deciding whether you can have fun playing that way or not, but hag is probably one of the most big brain play characters in the game.

*The forum seems to have deleted my comment, so if this is a double post, please ignore.

I mean, sure, but there's also personal preference. I don't have fun playing as Billy, Hag or Nurse, and I don't like how they play. I could technically spend hours training to get better as a meta Killer, and I'm sure I would, but that would come at the cost of enjoyment of the game, and that's not what I'm here for. I don't take this game seriously enough or care about ranks to the point of sacrificing fun. Like I said, I'm a low rank and a casual player, and everything I said should be taken with a grain of salt.

I mean, sure, but there's also personal preference. Personally, I don't find Hag or Billy fun to play at all, neither do I find Nurse fun. Sure, I could train and get better at them, but that would come at the cost of enjoyment, and honestly, I don't take this game seriously enough or care about ranks to the point of spending hours trying to learn a meta killer I don't enjoy playing as. This thread is so much circlejerking with the devs lol that I'm bewildered why you guys even defend them. The main reason why I can't even drop pallets is the godtier "dedicated servers" connection and the amount of killers playing from the moon on the server I'm on that I've had better connection 32 floors below level ground. How are you guys going to defend the connection now?

Nobody's defending the connection. There's a real problem with the servers. But crippling Killers isn't the way to fix this. Feels like some Survivors just want an easy game at this point.

  • I play on PS4 too. The way I see it, Killers like Nurse and Huntress were actually crippled by controller and are just working as intended on PC. Furthermore, KB+M doesn't make that big a difference when it comes to Survivors, so really console Survivors are facing the exact thing PC Survivors are when it comes to Nurse. There's a reason so many people hate her, she's not exactly easy to go up against on PC either and I think that's fine because her skill ceiling is extremely high.

The only thing I can agree on when it comes to this complaint is frame rate, as that is a real disadvantage to consoles. But that's not a Nurse problem.

Just to add to that: Exploits - if anything but - is an example of people not trying, as they're after an easy win.

I'm yet to watch any rugby, handball or other sporting event where the losing team accuse the winning team of being a "try-hard". If anything, their manager ought to wonder - were that the case - why that team did not try harder themselves! When put in that context, it's easy to see how ridiculous those claims are.

Exactly. I thought we were supposed to try our best to win and take a fair loss graciously. I don't think I've ever seen anyone get called a tryhard in another online game either.

  • I like the concept of Moris, and sometimes they can be the only way to get even one kill against a heavily-coordinated 4-man SWF, but I do agree they are a bit too easy to get, at least the Ebony ones. I have like 11 of them because I keep getting them left and right in Bloodwebs and never used them.

I think any killer can get called a "try-hard" when they win. The objective of the game for a Killer is to aim for the 4k, and for that to happen a Killer will need to work for it, especially against more skilled opponents.

Survivors also need to escape, and will also need to work for it against skilled Killers.

For me, the concept of a "try-hard" is laughable as it basically defines any competitive stance in anything that requires competition. It's just a phrase used against people to make the one who said it feel better about losing.

Pretty much this. Calling people "tryhards" is so ridiculous to me. So what, the opponent should let you win and go easy on you every time? Yeah, exploiting the game and using questionable strategies to win is obviously a scummy thing to do, but most of the people I've seen using this insult are just mad that they were killed.

  • Eh, honestly, it really depends. I've seen people calling Killers "tryhards" just for playing the game and trying to win, just as I've seen Killers calling Survivors who try to do gens as fast as possible (a valid strategy, since, you know, that is their only objective) "tryhards" as well. I would take these things with a grain of salt, it's normally said by salty people.

  • If I stand in place and nod at you, it means I won't hit you if you come close (for example, if I want to let you escape.) Can't speak for other people, though.

  • I honestly don't blame you for feeling that way. Killers will often get a lot of #########, to the point most Killer mains on PS4 set our messages to friends-only.

I play both Killer and Survivor even though I'm a Killer main and I have fun with both, but I just have more fun playing as Killer. Even though it feels much more stressful most of the time because of the constant taunting, I still have a lot of fun playing the bad guy for once.

  • No problem :) I really do feel like a lot of the time it will depend on a person's playstyle. Pretty much any game is like this. Of course, there are meta characters and characters who are more and less viable in general, but I've often seen people make a character seen as useless/highly situational by the majority of the community work in most video games.

  • Drop them earlier.

  • Didn't the devs say that slugging is a valid strategy as long as it's not holding the game hostage?

  • I think this is actually bad when it comes to people who DC on purpose, but, like... I've been getting random DCs when my internet's completely fine and nothing else is affected but DbD, so it's kinda nice to know I won't be punished if the game simply decides to die on me over and over until they fix whatever's been going on with the servers.

Yeah, jus happened to me today.

Completed a daily with Myers and all 15 of the “kick 15 gens” challenge in one match, and got booted... none of it counted :(

That sucks so hard, I'm sorry to hear that. I lost all of my progress on a Compendium challenge I had been doing, too. I hope BHVR fix this soon :(

It is so hard to give accurate information of traps to each other.

People really under estimate how important communication skills are which most people just don’t have.

Hence the vast majority of relationship problems.

Yeah, I agree. I've played against several SWF groups who clearly could not communicate (when they can, which is often noticeable, I normally end up losing miserably as I'm a decent enough Killer at best.) Still, there's a disadvantage to a Hag who goes up against a SWF group who CAN communicate.

(Honestly, I still think the best way to play this game is with friends. As in, all of you, including the Killer, know each other and are communicating. It's so much more fun that way. But I digress.)

  • I honestly recommend just muting post-game chat. I understand that toxicity is awful, and some things people say should absolutely not be condoned and should be reported immediately, but a lot of the times the trash talking comes from people who are just tilted and don't really mean it. I've had a guy angrily message me before (I play on PS4) after a match I played as a Killer, and he ended up apologizing for his behavior after he saw I was being chill about it.

What I'm trying to say is, don't let it get to you. This game will create anger because of its very nature (one person whose sole objective is hunting down and killing four other people) and people will often lash out at each other because of it. If it does bother you, which is completely understandable, I think muting the chat is the best option.

  • I honestly never do that. I have like 11 Ebony Moris on my main because I never used one. I even let the last Survivor escape occasionally if I think they played well and weren't toxic.

I really never understood why she is underrated, but if I have to guess it's because of how she is supposed to be played.

Many hate campers, she is a really good one.

But again, I believe spirit was also underused for a long time until people realized that she was strong, don't quote me on that one though.

Honestly, I think it heavily depends on the player. Like, sure, Hag has the potential to be one of the best Killers in the game, but only if you know how to play her (and as others here said, Survivors aren't giving each other the locations of your traps.) I honestly suck at Hag and never got a single kill as her. Same for Nurse and Billy. On the other hand, I consistently do pretty well with Trapper, Wraith and Legion, Killers I've seen a lot of people call complete trash on every rank. While I do think some Killers need to be adjusted or buffed, I also think once in a while a player will click with a Killer and manage to make them work well enough.

Of course, I'm a rank 17 and a casual player at best, so feel free to take this all with a grain of salt. Just sharing my two cents.

  • It showed up on my lvl 40-something non-Prestige Legion's Bloodweb today. I'd bought it... earlier today.

I honestly don't understand the Bloodweb sometimes.

I hope you've seen this when you first entered the Forums, it's very obvious

Wait for a fix, most likely next week

That's not the error message I've been getting, though, and from OP's post, is not what their issue was either. We'll be waiting for a fix, I just hope BHVR are aware of this specific problem. It's pretty bad to lose all of the progress you made in a match because of the server, when you've made sure your connection is stable so this doesn't happen.

  • I know this post is a bit old, but I've been having the same problem. My internet was bad last week, but it went back to normal this week and I'm still having disconnects (plus other errors, such as the save and rank errors). I just got DC'd as Killer a few minutes ago near the ending of the match, when I already had 2 sacrifices and a bunch of Bloodpoints stacked up. I lost all of them, plus my offering and items, and I assume the 2 survivors who were left lost everything too. Yet, my PS4 tells me I was connected the whole time, the internet didn't get disconnected on my phone and the Youtube video I had playing in the background on it was completely fine too. I can only assume this is on the game's end.

    EDIT: typo
