(sorry if there are any grammatical errors, not my native language)
I read on Steam that BHVR planed to make the torment effect of the executioner a bit easier to apply by having it also inflicted by his ranged attack and not just his trails because good survivors just play around the trails without breaking a sweat. But they think its to op because you could hit/down both survivors while unhooking and also apply torment on both. And i think i gathered a few different solutions for that.
- torment is only applied by the ranged attack if the survivor loses a health state. So the unhooked survivor would still be saved by borrowed time for example
- make it so the ranged attack does not apply torment when used in range of a hook. So torment cant be applied by the ranged attack while unhooking.
- Torment is only applied by the ranged attack if the survivor is put into the dying state by it.
- Buff the trails. Make them faster to plant, increase the hit box, make it so you can also put them around hooks or gens and make them stay longer. By buffing the trails, a good executioner could use them more as intimidation and not as weapon. using trails mid chase to seal off vaults, pallets or hooks.
- Make it so the Ranged attack only hits the nearest/furthest survivor and/or make it so only the survivor with the highest health state gets hit.
i hope those ideas maybe spark a few solutions in the heads of the developers.
If someone has another good idea or has a problem with one of the above, feel free to write a comment.
Why couldn't it just be made so while you have the BT from unhook, you are invulnerable to the torment in question? Meanwhile the survivor who unhooked their teammate while being unprotected, gets tormented ? excuse my poor english im baked and its late

What about when all 4 survivors TUNNEL a gen?

I have, from what I can tell, heard a very loud notifying sound upon the placement of a Boon Totem every game without fail.

Go take a piss or get a cup of water while it happens. Come back and its like magic. IT NEVER HAPPENED!!!!!!

I rarely use the Cage as a Pyramid main... I prefer to not give the Survivors a way to get rid of their Torment levels.. So yeah... very rare and totally situational..

What the hell did I just do.... Why did I just subject my self to two pages of some Goofball arguing with himself and changing his argument WOW ..... Jerry Springer vibes in here... <passes blunt>

I like Dead by Daylight very much, I like the emotional expression of this game, it presents the classic horror movie bridge for the player, and it is interactive, the player needs to hide intermittently, observe the killer, feel the heartbeat, this is exactly the video game The great thing about this interactive art.
But, until I met survivor auras. The killer can see the survivor auras, which completely breaks the logic of a horror game or killer movie. This leaves survivors feeling hopeless, as there seems to be no time when their privacy can be assured.
For example, as a survivor, you follow a killer who is kidnapping other survivors. You have to follow it and rescue your teammates. This should be an unforgettable moment in horror games, killer movies, or real logic. This is definitely an excellent strategy. I think this is also the initial vision and core experience of the game Dead by Daylight. But it was destroyed because of a killer perk. At this point the killer sees the survivor's auras. Ruins a great horror experience. This is unreasonable in reality logic, because in reality, the survivor did nothing wrong and he should not be discovered by the killer.
This ruins the emotional expression of the game. Turning a horror game into a skill confrontation game similar to moba, if that is the case, why don't I play DOTA2?
Why do I think survivors have no problem seeing the killer's auras? Because survivor auras and killer auras are not equivalent. The survivor's auras are the survivor's only bottom line, the only thing to protect. The equivalent of this is not the killer's auras, but the killer's attack. If the survivor has a lot of perks that the killer can't attack, it will also ruin the killer experience. Make the killer feel fake. Because it doesn't fit the logic of a killer movie.
Survivors should be stealthy but weak. Killers are supposed to be clumsy but powerful. If the survivor's secrecy cannot be guaranteed, this is not a horror game or a stealth game at all, and it contradicts the core experience of Dead by Daylight. If so, why don't I play biochemical infection mode of some FPS?
Note that I'm not discussing balance issues, just discussing the emotion and sense of substitution of a game. In other words, it is a logical self-consistent problem of the game. The core selling point of Dead by Daylight is obviously a game that creates that kind of killer movie, but it has a certain mechanism that destroys this core selling point. Isn’t this a kind of logical inconsistency? And it's not that I don't know that this game will provide thousands of hours of play time, and the game may not be so scary later. But I don’t think that’s the problem. Even if the late game isn’t scary, it doesn’t mean you’re about to break your core.
It's like you have played Counter-Strike for thousands of hours, you definitely don't feel that you are fighting terrorists, but it doesn't mean that Counter-Strike has to add a gun without the slightest recoil, because a gun without the slightest recoil will completely Destroys the core gameplay charm of Counter-Strike.

I think corrupt is already strong and don't need any buff.
Since hexes are weak right now (sure they can still change the game outcome - especially dhope and NOED if u hook someone next to the totem), I think it would not be too oppresive giving them 20s basekit protection (at the start of the trial only - pentimento/face the darkness don't need extra protection whenever they spawn) - so at least killers that can protect them (like demo, or trapper, or hag) have time to actually get to them and do that
Yeah, I'm sure CI is already balanced enough as it is. Maybe a new killer coming in the game can provide hex protection via a perk .. or a baseline 20s for everyone like you suggested. Or maybe a new perk that does something like, 1 time for only 1 hex totem, you can bring it back up. But if it is something like Devour Hope, then it would reset back to a fresh totem without charges or something. Thanks for the response also

Make the quantity 4 and make more of the hooks Scourge. Maybe all hooks?

These are simply my opinion based on how I play and my experiences. (Soloq Survivor when I play Survivor)
Survivor
Underrated: Distortion/Corrective Action
Overrated: For the People (Unless you are in a SWF this perk is near impossible to use in a way that isnt a complete waste of a perk slot.
Killer
Underrated: I'm All Ears
Overrated: This was harder but I had to pick Save the Best For Last While it is obviously good, I often find that I get more value from something else in it's place.
and just an unrelated note, I hate people using No Mither in soloq games.... They rarely last 3 minutes.

Yesterday I played 4 Ghostface games in a row and today it was 4 Huntress games back to back as well. I was not picking up what the game was putting down.
