    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/222695/why-does-the-ptb-restrict-you

the ptb uses your account information to determine what you have access too. so if you don't have lori but have unlocked DS from the shrine you get DS but not laurie. so it's just simple to copy the accounts over to the ptb instead of having anything special going on. the PTB is updated then the accounts are copied over and then the ptb is launched on steam. this is why it's like that, much simpler to do and give you the access, they do however take the extra step to unlock the new survivor/killer when a dlc is coming out. why do need to play freddy if you didn't buy him on the real servers? none...

Would actually be a nice way for people who haven't gotten around to it or are new to try out other Killers and see who they want to buy first.

So there is a reason lol

Partly its so it does force people to check out the general menu of the game and try out the Killer/Survivor without the "Optimal" build.

Though it would be nice if there was some way to "Unlock" unlimited Bloodpoints on the PTB after some time so players could unlock perks that may otherwise be locked for them.

Maybe introduce a PTB exclusive code that adds 1Mil bloodpoints a few days after the PTB starts. But who knows, people may just wait until that code drops to start testing the PTB.

I was more referring to the fact that Killers are locked if you haven't paid for them in the live servers.

  • For clarification im referring to having access to the Killers that you havent paid for.

    Not bloodweb related things
