You know what would incentive people to play other killers? Update/rework them and make them good.

These bandaid fixes won't get people to play bad/boring killers, there is a reason to why Wesker is popular

Again, this will not work. People want to play killers that are strong AND easy to pick up. Even with buffs other killers will not be picked since most require an investment to become good with.

  • They'll have to fix it at some point. It is the nr. 1 frustration of a lot of players and driving away new ones.

  • Tunneling and camping at this point have become a mechanic for killers that get outplayed but still want a win and know it can pay off. It is this game's dirty backdoor.

  • @Xarosan said:

Hell, they don't even have to remove it, just make it so they behave like Overcharge skill checks (You can move around while hitting it)

For sure, that would be fine.

  • If this game was actually balanced, we wouldn’t be needing the DC penalty. Balance is something they have neglected to do the first 6 years of the game’s existence. They finally started last year, the game is already much farer. However, a lot of big issues still exist. They will keep the penalty on as a bandaid fix.

  • @jesterkind said:

You don't hit hours and hours of DC penalty unless you DC a lot, and at that point, it kinda doesn't matter if you chose to quit or if you lagged out. If your internet is that bad that you're lagging out of matches more than every once in a while, the unfortunate reality is you really can't play team-based online games without running the risk of racking up DC penalties-- and trust me, I've been there, I know how irritating and frustrating it is. The fact is, though, it isn't the game's fault.

And, if you're the kind of person who spitefully DCs or ragequits constantly, you should be penalised for it. DCing heavily impacts the match, it isn't just about you. The game should have some basic quality control to ensure everyone gets a shot at playing the game properly, whether that's anti-grief mechanics or DC penalties.

Side note, I'm really not sure what comp modes have to do with DC penalties. Don't most online games have leaver penalties? Admittedly, I don't play that many, but they certainly should if they don't, unless they're like... a battle royale or something along those lines.

Not true. 3 DC’s in the span of 48 hours is already 15 minutes. It stacks up pretty fast.

  • There are more and more playable characters available in the game. You can prestige a character to 100, to get all available perks and cosmetics a minimum of 9 is needed. Bloodpoints are needed more and more. Especially for newer players it must be an undaunting task to unlock everything. The amount of bloodpoints we get per match, especially as survivor is appalling.

The anniversary has shown (again), at least for me, that this game becomes much more enjoyable when there are bigger rewards waiting for you at the end of a match.

They should at a minimum double the amount of bloodpoints you can currently earn per match.

  • @Gandor said:

As surv main I don't mind the perk one bit.

The only issue with the perk is information. I think obsession should know the perk is in game at least after 5th stack is gained - possibly even sooner.

Taking stacks from killer is the side-quest and reasonable counter.

And if you need to nuke it (I still don't think it necessary), then all you "have to" do is count m2 hits for loosing stacks (so there's no way around hitting obsession).

I do agree with you here. Survivors should know it is in play. More than not, the obsession (solo) is blissfully unaware while the entire team gets killed and think "I'm so lucky the killer isn't chasing me". With a warning this might change.

  • Yup, it is the biggest problem in this game. Had a match today where a P100 Blight got matched with a survivor with 100 hours in...

  • OP is right about one thing regarding this game. Unsportsmanlike or toxic behaviour is not punished in this game. As the other side you have to endure it or suffer the consequences of a DC. And because it happens more than once, that DC timer starts to rack up easily.

People who misbehave in a game should not get away with it.

You're joking right? The PTB hitbox was too big, no arguing with that, but the release hitbox was so small you could literally bounce off survivors. Saying that was better is just admitting you refuse to get better against him.

A lot of killers have small hitboxes, which is perfectly fine when using a power that is strong. One of the reasons everyone plays Wesker is because of his current strong power which is very forgiving. More often than not, you actually dodge him but he still grabs you. His hitboxes are about the size of Huntress' axes.

Oh, and I have no problem looping most Weskers. Doesn't make his power fair though.

  • @leviivel said:

there’s definitely a lot of Skull Merchant players that 3 gen and it’s boring but it’s usually not completely uncounterable, but it does require coordination (which is hard in solo queue but that’s a given). Especially if the player plays in the EXACT way that everyone describes her, it would be so easy to counter because she would just keep circling between gens. JUST DO SEPERATE GENS DON’T DO THE SAME ONE TOGETHER.

although some of ya’ll just DC against her for no reason other than “me no like drone woman” because i ran a full chase build on her and i had a match where i had no drones on a gen (and the survivor’s weren’t even bad at looping mind you) and they DC’d when i downed them and i hadn’t even kicked a gen once that match.

also, unless you suck at skill checks (cough cough overcharge), all the good gen slowdown options in the game currently require downs or hooks WHICH SHE SHOULDN’T BE GETTING IF YOU’RE GOOD.

They bring CoB, Overcharge and Eruption with SB most of the time. They put up a drone after kicking the gen. Normally, these perks are not that good. However, it takes a while before you can remove the drone. Meanwhile she injures everyone with SB so yes, she’ll get downs eventually.

Even premades struggle against her. As a solo player it is not worth my time.

And why would they create an amulet of country flags? There are hundreds of countries, it's technically and economically unfeasible.

On top of that, it will draw politics into the game. People will get attacked over their nationality and so on. No thank you

    She needs a buff.

the issue isn't that she can lock down the game, the issue is that she CAN'T afford NOT TO lock the game.

if people understood that the issue with Knight, Skull Merchant AND NOW Singularity... is that they are too weak and too conditionnal.

locking down a 3 gen is like ... the 1 trick they can "try" and even that now was nerfed into the ground so of COURSE you'll see those killer tunnel and camp like there is no tomorrow... they are M1s with no mobility and now MFT (AKA New DH) is in play.

People will always go for the easy plays/win. Even if she gets buffed people will still play here as a 3 genning killer. Jane, and others have proven that SM is very viable as a chase killer.

at this point her whole power needs a rework

  • @Emeal said:

Well, she is not. bHVR is working on a system to the game which is going to prevent 3 gen strategies for her and all other Killers.

After that can happen, bHVR will look at how she is played and make changes after that.

    Time? Probably a Year lol

Even after a rework regarding 3 genning, she’ll still be a shitshow to play against. She just places a drone over a generator, kicks it, you cannot immediately disarm the drone, she’ll make you waste resources (pallets) and makes you heal longer with SB.

SM needs a rework from the ground up.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

She needs to be kill switched until they rework her.

You can do a little bit of research and see this isn’t true. For example, Canadian wait times for specialists and special surgeries are on average 7 times longer than the US. The Canadian gov lowers HC costs by limiting their specialist, which causes this increase in wait times.

And yes, I know that. It does not hurt to ask. I agree, every flag should be added.

If waiting times for non urgent care is your only reference point for what is or isn’t good healthcare…I am sorry, but I’ll leave it at that.

There are also more countries on the planet to compare to than Canada.

  • @NotSpectral said:

Honestly, the game being balanced around good killers and Solo Q right now is bound to make this happen.

go watch some competitive DBD, you'll soon learn that they have a whole set of rule to limit the power survivors have because they are otherwise completely overpowered and there is no way they could lose like ever.

This. The problem here is premades and S-tier killers being overpowered. It would be good for the game to lessen the gap.

I understand where you are coming from.

In terms of your healthcare comment.. my rebuttal (statistically proven) is our healthcare, while not universally free, is unmatched in quality. Success rates in treatment are much higher here than places that have universal HC, not to mention much higher wait times. But that’s besides the point. All of it is free for me anyway. (I am military. Lol)

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3473293#Comment_3473293

I don’t care if you care. The same could be said for other things in the game that aren’t necessary.

I can tell you as a MD and one with a medical license on two continents including North America, that only your healthcare is top of the line in certain private and high end teaching hospitals. On average US healthcare is subpar compared to healthcare in a lot of northern European and East Asian countries.

US healthcare is driven by profit and liability; its professionals are not very good, and the system is slow and complicated.

And to stay on topic: they put out a Canadian symbol because Behaviour is Canadian. If they are going to give out charms for other countries, they will have to do so for every nation.

  • This has been suggested time and again. For some reason the developers still haven’t tackled this issue. Sounds like an easy fix right?

If it was fine people wouldn't spend the entire time playing her as a 3 gen killer.

Her chase power is fine. 3 genning is just stronger on her

  • I is a lot of crap. It used to be better, upon release. But then a bunch of people started whining it being too hard and they increased the hitbox.

  • @DEMONANCE said:

haven't played him myself but seen lots of gameplay of him by killer streamers and they seem to be crushing it with this dude he is pretty oppressive in the right hands so idk maybe try watching gameplay of him and then you might reconsider?

Which ones? I haven't any that have been crushing it against good survivors, lol.

Same for my games, haven't met one that "won" unless the other survivors were bad.

  • While I agree with you some maps have too many pallets, this one is one of the more balanced ones. What stood out for me watching this clip is you playing a killer with an anti loop ability and you not using it :-/

  • @jordanjustice said:

I don't pretend to understand the devs mindset, as their game has been terribly mismanaged for 7 years now. The killer is, for some reason, the administrator of the game. Which means, the game goes, as the killer wants. If the killer wants to slug everyone from the beginning, they can. If they want to facecamp, they can. If they want to tunnel out a single person to make the game easier for them, they can. If they want to play with decency and skill, and not play scummy, they can. To add to this, the killer can see the survivors and what they are bringing in the lobby, but the survivors are blind to everything about the killer pre-match. The game is very lopsided to the killer.

Point being, the devs need to take away administrator rights from the killer. This is a game. Limits should be placed on both sides. You should HAVE TO play within a certain ruleset. Right now, its just a free-for-all with the killers having the keys.

Devs placed Borrowed Time as basekit to try and stop tunneling. This tells me that the devs understood (eventually) that tunnelling is an issue. Unfortunately, tunnelers just wait it out. In a previous suggestion, I suggested that this (before exit gates are powered) be extended to unlimited time... or maybe just a full minute. As stated, either they start helping the team (which cancels the BT) or they don't and they become useless to their team until that BT wears out. I don't see any issues with making this change, logically.

Following suit, Devs need to allow survivors to get themselves up. Not exactly Unbreakable, as that also speeds up the progression. But if a survivor is left on the ground for a full minute, let's say, there is no good reason why they shouldn't be able to just get themselves off the ground. Clearly, the Killer didn't have enough skill to actually play the game right and decided to just slug everyone. This is not fun (to the survivor at least... not sure about the 10 year old killer doing it) This is a detriment to the game. This needs to be addressed. Do I expect it to? No. Please go above and beyond my expectations and make your game better.... Do something to stop game-allowed cheating.

On the survivor side... I guess SWF's are the major problem for Killers. I wouldn't know. I have only ever played in solo queue. So, to make it right for Killers... after you fix the game and take away their cheatey admin rights, do something to nerf SWFs. The game uses Steam's friends list to join, right? I'm sure there are ways to code nerfs into the game if a survivor team has 3 or 4 'friends' in the lobby.

I completely agree with you. It shouldn't be possible in a game for one side to ruin the other's experience. Camping/tunneling/excessive slugging/gen rushing and overpowered premades need to go. Once these core issues have been dealt with, what remains needs to be balanced out so the game is "fair" for both sides and a win or loss actually comes down to skill and not just a busted map, being on comms or tunneling out the solo player just to make a match easy.

  • Most maps are already plentiful with safe loops and pallets, when playing against a M1 killer. Now, you can loop the same structure or pallet even more before finally going down/dropping the pallet. All the while generator rushing is at an all time high. Yes, that sounds like balance... /S

We finally got rid of Dead Hard, a broken perk. And they replaced it by another broken perk to cater to the newer players. However, meanwhile more veteran players keep loosing matches against premades when not playing Nurse or Blight.

  • Remember when a code would be given out almost every month for 500K-1 milj. BP? Now, if we're lucky we get one for 30K, lol.

  • Sorry, meant Reassurance 😂

It's because you aren't prepared to playing against those strategies. I am not gonna say it's not boring, because anything that limits interaction with another person is (SM 3-genning, gen-rushing with toolboxes etc.), but another part you as well as me find it unfun is that to deal with it you need not only specific perks, but specific teammates and communication, the last of which is not available to the average solo survivor. If it was available, that part could be the fun one as people would strategize and co-ordinate to overcome the killer and that would generate interaction among the survivor.

I am a solo player, this is true. But even in a premade I do not find it fun. I always bring Resilience. In a premade you use that perk and slam generators. Not my idea of fun.

  • @Dream_Whisper said:

If only DBD has a balanced games in which killer don't always need to relie on slowdown/regression perks, nor needing to tunneling to win. The sad reality is, Survivors also relie on trading hooks/health states and just holding 450 seconds or less on gens with gen speed perks to succeed in escaping all together.

Medkit changes were made to make healing more common and slow enough ; to compensate for the pace of the game for killer. But even then, it is not always enough, experience Survivors that comfort Staying injured and spend every second not in chase to simply do gens as fast and efficiently as much as possible.

What the games needs is more basekit slowdown to gen speeds, or alternatively a 2nd main objective to make hooking more coming and less practical to needing to tunnel/camp every game.

Sure it will not stop toxic killers from doing what satisfy their blood killing ego; as they need to kill. But, if we can make less killers less pressure about time efficiently in gen defense and more into the chase and the hooks; only then.. can we balance the games for both sides.

The game just needs to be balanced on both sides. It’s an asymmetrical game so full balance will never be achieved but they can do a whole lot better.

Games stop being fun the longer you play them. They are always at their most fun at the beginning and when you're learning and it still feels magical. After playing for a long time it's normal you get burned out. Most of the people posting "I don't play anymore" or "the game's not fun anymore" aren't people who just started playing. It's usually those who have at least a year of playing regularly.

For me personally, I still enjoy the game if the other side plays “fair”. As a survivor I do not want to see hard tunneling or camping until endgame. It sucks all the energy and fun out of a match. You should win based off skill, not a cheap mechanic that should have been removed from the game at its inception.

  • That’s an easy one. Knight and Skull Merchant for sure. Third one depends on how often I see them and in what mood I am.

  • @TheTom20 said:

All I can say is there is a lot of people playing killer finding is very difficult an stressful as well.

It doesn't hurt to take a dbd break lots of people have done it. Sometimes the frustration from a few games makes us play worst an you then expect the worst a break coming back fresh can be a nice thing.

A lot of solo que frustration is team mates an I sadly i don't think anything the devs put in place is gonna make some solo que players more helpful.

All the best in future games :)

You shouldn’t have to take breaks from games because it is unfun. Games should be fun. The fact that people can make your game unfun is a design flaw, which is completely on the developers. They shoud fix/balance their game. It’s not like thousands of people went before OP asking for change…

  • @BabyLegend said:

So after the devs decided to nurf down self healing, Decisive Strike and Dead Hard, tunneling in the game has been overwhelming and we can not do anything about it. Almost in every game killers chose to tunnel (fast and easy way to win), game experince as a survivor is very bad and very boring. Specially if someone is playing in solo queue where there is no communication in the team and it is hard for teammates to protect each others.

In my opinion Decisive Strike should be changed back to stun the killer for 5 seconds and we should be able to use it in end game. And as a survivor you should be able to heal yourself at least more than once with a better medkit.

Me along with many friends have stopped playing as survivors, simply because game experience is bad. I hope the devs take this in consideration and actually do something that could boost up the game play and prevent tunneling.

Best regards from a sacrificed fellow surv <3

Correction, all these killers do is tunnel AND camp. Because they are bad at the game but get rewarded for what is basically is this game’s version of spawn trapping and killing.

And the developers know this is a problem…for years now. It is driving away new and old players.

  • You can clearly tell the game was never designed to have communication in it as it destroys strategies and playstyles from killers. Playing a stealth killer for example is infinitely harder against a premade. I agree, it gives an unfair advantage.

However, there is no way back. It would kill the game, if the would remove premades. Also, not all premades are try hards. It is not easy to balance.

  • The perk is fine as is. It helps both new and solo players. All it does is show fault locations.

  • @Crowman said:

He's currently very bad because survivors can easily punish him for trying to use how own power and his own power is hardly strong enough to warrant such a hard counter in the first place.

Overclock really isn't that hard to stall out if you mistime an emp. It's duration is very short.

And saying survivors can't get more optimal with emps because it's just pressing buttons can be said for killers and their power.

    Thank you, amen

I understand that completely, and that is literally why I am speaking up to contest it. There is a difference between those two things, and it is meaningful, because Singularity doesn't need giant overhauls. He just needs the EMPs tuned down, because he isn't completely unplayable.

Nobody said he needs a complete overhaul. In his current state he is a weak killer. EMPs need to be downplayed heavily. Most and foremost, grabbing an EMP out of a box should not make the box spawn a new one until used. 4 boxes in total instead of 5. Longer charge times. And so on. This killer was released castrated more or less.

  • What really baffles me is, we had a PTB. The main conclusions from the PTB were 1. EMPs are overturned and 2. MfT is too strong. How on earth did both reach live servers? Why have a PTB in the first place?

  • @uganda_calm said:

I'm not having fun at all with Singularity.

sound like a you problem and not like a singularity problem. I had a lot of fun while playing him.

Being in "too weak" to "unplayable" isn't a good middle ground to be in, your nuance does not matter even in the slightest, the result is loads of bad games.

I think it is, do you think it would be better if he started super strong?

Slowly building a killer up from the bottom is way better than starting with a broken killer, in my opinion.

How can you expect to have full control and mastery over a killer that is not even a month old?

    1. I don't see anyone playing him.
    2. Everywhere I look online people are having the same opinion: he's not good.

I think you're the minority here

you just dont understand his power, it is supposed to be used in chases to counter pallets and vaults, not just to get around the map faster.

There biopods are manly for applying the slipstream and for in-tell. Thats why they give a warning before you teleport with them, because thats not there purposes.

His power serves both scenarios. One which is completely redundant now, the other only slightly viable.

  • @jesterkind said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3457474#Comment_3457474

    What?

The thread isn't correct to posit that the Singularity is, as they put it, "hot trash". There's obviously a middle ground between "hot trash" and "perfectly balanced".

And, after EMPs are nerfed... yes? He will be in a pretty good spot? He's already fun, it's just that EMPs are overtuned. So, yes, once EMPs are tuned down, he'll be a great killer.

I don't mean to be aggressive or anything, but I'm struggling to understand where you're coming from.

A killer that cannot use his power reliably is hot trash. With the EMP's toned down he might, but currently he is literally and M1 killer. Chasing and using Overclock is highly map dependable as well

  • @uganda_calm said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3457475#Comment_3457475

pre dropping does not work. if he teleports while you are near the pallet or still in the animation, he still destroys it and hits you.

Then why have I done it successfully every time? As soon as he can teleport you should throw it down, not the moment he actually teleports.

  • The whole purpose of this killer is to have eyes everywhere, infect and teleport to whom you see running around. The fact that you can only semi reliable use his power when in chase defeats the purpose of his design.

  • @uganda_calm said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3457461#Comment_3457461

with spirit fury, you will still get stunned. Overclocked only slows you down a bit. If the survivor hits you with a pallet during overclocked, thats a guaranteed hit for you. And with addons you even get faster while overclocked.

Singularity is basically immune to pallets when played correctly.

Yes, that's why you predrop. Problem solved. With the amount of safe pallets on every map these days, you can easily do so.

  • @uganda_calm said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/379633/the-singularity-is-hot-trash

Well, cant say any thing about the maps. he is very relying on getting the right maps.

But the EMPs, well i got news for you. The devs are already working on that.

Here is the post with the planned details:

Thanks for the suggestions here, we do have a few changes for the EMP's in particular ready for an upcoming hotfix. We'll be looking at reducing the EMP crates themselves to 4 per map, the generation time increased to 100s (currently 90s), and Survivors will also be slowed whilst charging an EMP by 10% as well as increasing the EMP charge time itself to 2.5s from the current 2s.

Duration of the pod disabling from an EMP will also be decreased down to 45s. There's also some score changes as we noticed Devious points were a little on the low side.

I don't understand why you can grab an EMP preemptively and the printer will print another one. It should only start printing when the previous one has been used.

  • Only this map? Or a lot of maps? Even on good maps all survivors have to do is EMP spam.

  • Trapper main here as well. I would go even further. I feel Trapper should just spawn in with all traps in hand. I also feel iri stone in some form should be basekit.

  • I have run the perk as survivor the last couple of days and played against it as killer.

Yes, it is an unhealthy perk in its current state. Being injured making you 3% faster is huge.

Almost every survivor runs it because it is that good. It makes you loop a loop a couple of times more. It makes you reach other loops, you otherwise wouldn't have made.

It extends chases significantly in a game that is already plagued by overtly survivor sided maps and generator rushing.

1 … 4 5 6 7 8
