If we're exterminating characters that people who don't like them don't like just because they don't like them, then I have a small list of characters I'd like that done to. I physically can't play as or against Spirit because my hearing is bad, for example, so should she get pulled apart to accommodate me? Singularity's lore and visual design is a complete joke that makes Skull Merchant's look flawless and his power is a snooze fest, especially after the huge buffs he got, let's drag that robot to the scrap heap!

Why are we so insistent on carving up a Killer just because people don't like them? Every Killer has people who don't like them. There is no compensation that BHVR could reasonably give for straight up deleting my favourite character, especially if the lore and visual design and everything got changed too.

Dont act like its the first time that this happens, it already happened with Freddy (in the way that survivors doesnt know how to counter the power so the killer is gutted) and happened with Legion (the killer’s power is so bad designed that needs to be gutted) so why Skull Merchant should be the exception when she is the most hated and poor designed killer ever?

  • Also mentioning that some add-ons feel like pointless/useless without the manual scamper

Many people claim that Ultimate Weapon is the "strongest info" perk but the data doesn't support this. I've highlighted the most used info perks below, and 3 info perks are used significantly more than Ultimate Weapon:

    • BBQ and Lethal Persuer have double the usage rate of Ultimate Weapon
    • No Where to Hide has somewhat higher usage.
    • Discordance and A Nurse's Calling has similar usage

If UW was really the best info perk, its usage rate should be at the top not lower than 3 info perks.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JNYIOMZQKEGJ/image.png

    https://nightlight.gg/perks/viewer?role=killer&sort=pick&shown=pick&start_days=28

The reality is that UW is a perk used specificaly by killers synergise with it and is not a generic strong info perk:

    • Alien: ran due to base kit perk
    • Trickster and Huntress: locker synergy
    • Wesker: 40 m terror radius synergy
    • Oni, Nurse, and Blight: high mobility let's them easily proc Ultimate Weapon

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/1KYRC9HJ65FC/image.png

There are killer mains (like me) that dislike Ultimate Weapon and dont want to use it, why? Because it's a perk with low risk/effort and high reward. You just have to open a locker (waste like 3 seconds) and you have nearly every survivor tracked and without the most used perk for survivors (Windows of Opportunity), since they will get the blindness status effect. On the other side, BBQ is a fairly balanced perk, that has a limited usage in the match (11 times), the survivors can counter it, and you need to do something else that just waste 3 seconds opening a locker. In my oppinion, Ultimate Weapon is just a perk for new killers that dont know how to track survivors or killers that want the easiest match ever. I'm sorry, but UW is not fine and needs a nerf (and not in like 3 months, it needs a nerf right now).

okey so now ive taken the time to play the new patch and cause of this post i took more time then normal to take a reeeeaaally good look at the new killer and its skins to get a better view of them then only in videos.

op i can really not understand where you are comming from when you compare the base skin with the cheerleader skin you can clearly see that this has nothing to do with trans at all.

sure the overall shape and rig of the killer is still the same but thats also the case for legion and they are four whole persons and you can see its not just his normal male body dressed in cheerleaders cloth with long hair like that one bubba skin. it a whole other person that ofcourse got twisted and shaped by whatver the real killer is that now lives inside that shell.

if you look at the stomach you can see that with the cheerleader skin the big outstanding belly is missing and the face has a diffrent shape aswell since the male skin has that grin that goes from ear to ear and the female skin does not have that and you can clearly see its a diffrent face

Exactly, thats what the game tries to tell to us, The Unknown tries to mimic the appearance of their victims, but fails in some aspects, that’s the point of the skins and if someone misunderstood the concept to harass some community in social media and not in the game itself, BHVR can’t do anything about it

  • @fulltonon said:

I mean, we've removed bubba mask before, I'm not exactly sure if this is that different.

It’s different because that happened in the game itself, not just in social media like this Unknown issue. The thing is that BHVR can’t be responsible for things that are happening outside the game, if the issue goes into DbD itself i think that BHVR can do something about it, but from what i read it’s just happening on Twitter/X so…

  • If the issue is happening outside the game, you should aim to block that people, and continue enjoying the new content and the game itself. BHVR can’t be responsible for what’s going on in social media (outside the game)

  • I think that your solution to the problem is wrong, if someone makes these kind of “jokes” into the game, they should be banned, instead of erasing content from The Unknown. In any game or social media, it’s impossible to keep all the transphobic persons out, and i don’t see how Trans Representation will solve this topic, i support and think that DbD needs Trans Rep. but i think that this time, it isn’t the solution to this problem

  • Add cooldown to missing chainsaw hits and remove the addons that reduce the penalty. Even the Xenomorph has more cooldown for missing hits and isn’t an insta-down killer lol

  • STBFL just needs the M2 hits nerf. The perk is undeniably strong, and for me, ok to use with M1 killers, but the problem is when its used with M2 killers. The perk is named “Save the Best for Last” and if you hit your obsession with a M2 attack you are not “saving the best for last” so you should lose stacks too.

  • @IHSGames said:

Ever since the Alien chapter (at least what I've seen) There's been a surge of STBFL users. Nothing wrong with a lot of killers using a decently strong perk. HOWEVER, it's not just certain types of killers but they're playstyles as well that makes the perk VERY annoying to go up against. M2 Killers like Demo, Slinger, Wesker, etc etc. These killers usually use STBFL since they can get almost UNLIMITED value off the perk due to them having an M2 attack that doesn't rid stacks since M2s doesn't remove a stack if you hit the obsession's with it. So what problems does this cause?

-Survivors will have a harder time countering a perk as only the obsessions will have the ability to do so. But since killers can M2 attack, the perk is almost uncounterable. All perks should have either a counter or downside and if those can be avoided EASILY I mid you, easily, then the perk is not healthy.

-Killer performance plummeting to the ground. No need to learn useful Demo shreds at loops. No need to find places to trickshot with slinger. No need to go for unique tech bounds with Wesker when all you do is M1 as its easier, less punishing and you get a benefit to your M1 cooldown reduction. Basically you get rewarded for playing safe and easy. No need to even learn how to mindgame loops since you can Zone them with your M2, pushing them from a loop making it easier for you to hit them. This makes killers worse in terms of overall performance as they never learn how to micro and macro game, use their abilities to their fullest potential and lose more often because they spent time micromanaging they're playstyle to a single perk. This brings people to say "X killer needs a buff" when really most are not playing them optimally due to a single perk. This creates boring games which...cmon.

On top of that one midchapter from a year or 2 ago that shortened the cooldown of a killers basekit M1 attack cooldown (basically basekit 2 stacks of STBFL) and a shortened duration of the Survivors speedboost after an attack, it's safe to say that this perk, though not overpowered, can be very problematic to both survivors and killers in the long run.

    -How would I nerf STBFL?

First I'd start out with removing 2 stacks, bringing it back to it's original stats before the midchapter that reduced killers m1 cooldown. Second, I'll make it to when the obsession loses a health state by ANY means, they'll lose a stack. Meaning M2s can cause them to lose a stack. No more using M2s to avoid stacks. Third, I'd also make it to wear if the obsessions dies, a random survivor becomes the new obsessions. This will stop the killer from tunneling the obsession out the game in order to gain stacks without having to worry about the obsession taking hits to remove stacks or just worry about losing stacks while in a chase with them in general.

I would also like to BUFF STBFL.

-M2 attacks can ALSO help you gain a stack. Is this controversial? Yeah. But it'll be unfair for killers to lose stacks M2ing and not gain them from M2ing. We want to encourage M2 killers to use their power more in order to make more better, smarter and more skillful killers without a perk hindering them. STBFL still ONLY reduces M1 cooldowns though, not M2s.

All of these changes will still make STBFL viable to all killers, but discourages M2 killers from utilizing the perk while avoiding all the downsides that come with it. These changes will also force killers to use their M2 more as they can't use it JUST on the obsessions to avoid stacks, but they can also use it to gain stacks as well. This change will keep the perk strong but healthy.

Let me know your thoughts below please! Thank you for your time!

STBFL just needs to lose stacks with M2 attacks, not both nerfs. The perk is just strong, and for me, ok to use with M1 killers, the problem is when its used with M2 killers. And since the perk is named Save the Best for Last, if you hit your obsession with a M2 attack you are not saving the best for last, so you should lose stacks too.

  • Yeah for the event i am currently running random builds made by a discord bot. Yesterday a match as Doctor against 4 MFTs + Resilience + Hope + WoO in Badham was the worst match i had in a long time, then the survs say “Why am i facing too many Nurses/Blights/Weskers?” or “Why the killer is so tryhard” Thats what i dont like personally of DbD, if you want to have fun, you need to make no failures, bring a meta build as a killer, other way, the match will be unplayable

I am not saying gen rushing doesn't happen, but in the majority of solo lobbies i have been in and I have played at different times of the day gen rushing hadn't been a thing. I am referring to times when we are at 5 gens and I was already killed dead, and before someone misconstrues a skill level I have 1500 hours in the game and run distortion lucky break and overcome to keep myself relatively hidden. There are many matches where i have just been flat out tunneled they find me, and boomerang back to the hook ignoring the other survivor and going straight for me. In situations I have managed to get back away, they have found me and immediately went for me.

Survivors have been constantly getting nerfs between med kits, flashlights, and many various perks over the last year. We only recently got some perks with Cage that do have some use, but are mostly for Memes. I feel survivors are actually taking a beating. This is coming from a player that plays Killer and Survivor. I find sometimes I have to slow myself down so I don't kill the survivors at 4 or 5 gens. We killers are powerful enough. There are many perks that killers can run to slow down the "gen rush" discordance and thana are two big options.

Slugging for the 4k is lame call a spade a spade honestly. Especially with the way you have to get a 4k to get their "achievement" its just teaching killers that behavior is appropirate.

Yes, that’s the main reason i dont do that “strategies” since i think killers are powerful enough, and playing by that way, i wouldn’t improve as that killer. Also i enjoy chases most than anything, so in a lot of matches i really dont care if the survs are rushing or not; it will happen anyways. But i think that the reason why tunneling and slugging are so popular it’s because both work, make your match easier without too much effort or needing to improve as a killer in general, or as the killer that you are playing.

  • @Dallas_Corgi said:

So then my question isn't deliberately tunneling and focusing one person, 'Intentionally targeting to ruin gameplay experience'. One survivor gets taken out of the game most of the time with under 10k, because the killer intentionally decided to take them out of the game, This ruined the gameplay for that survivor, and in addition it ruins the other survivors game play experience, because instead of being a 1 vs 4 as intended a good or even lower skilled killer can make that match a 1 v 3 in less than 5 minutes. Especially if they are running the right perks, but even perks like lethal or Floods of Rages aren't even needed to do that.

In addition "slugging for the 4k" doesn't that also ruin the gameplay experience for the survivors. It removes the hope of getting hatch because the odds of the hatch spawning next to you in most cases is next to 0, and even if it happens to be close the speed at which you move while downed makes it neigh impossible to get to it. To be clear I am not suggesting to change crawling speeds, but I am suggesting adding the base kit unbreakable that was teased many patches ago. I realize the final mori that was coupled with it probably was a dud. I know I wasn't a fan of it, but the unbreakable was worth it. In addition it would alleviate the aforementioned problem of people slugging to grief people and ruin gameplay for the survivors.

The problem is the gen-rush meta. Slugging and tunneling comes in a way to “prevent genrushing”, i personally dont like to do them, but i understand the killers that use both to avoid genrush. However, in this meta, basekit unbreakable would be awful, making killers to prefer tunneling than slugging. Also, don’t you think that Boil Over and Saboteur would be a problem with that? I think that’s the main reason why that ptb changes didnt go live

  • Nice, congrats to the devs, thought her rework would take a lot more. Waiting SM to be a fun killer to play as and against

  • yeah we can put a jeep wrangler when you face the velocirraptor, and you can run over it; goofy concept

  • Wesker. Despite the fact i liked Wesker before by Resident Evil, his form of injuring survivors is unique. Also a thing that i like in killers is you can tell the difference if someone played it for a lot of time or not. The techs that you can do with Wesker makes the difference.

They enjoy the easy wins you get with her. As you said, there is nothing to learn, but she is still quite "strong". Low skill floor killers with a high power level have always attracted people who just want to win without doing anything

It’s kinda fun how her difficulty to play in the game says “Hard” lol

  • @Alen_Starkly said:

I've also been getting kicked out of matches due to server issues. It sucks especially when the match was a fun one. :/ I also had killers I face DC randomly, which I only can assume happened due to, again, server kicking them out.

I also would like cosmetics have less or no dirt and blood on them. It unnecessarily ruins the look. DBD hasn't been a hide-and-seek game for a looooong time. We've finally been getting colorful and vibrant cosmetics. Which is great, because that's what we want, and it sells. No need to smear it with blood or dirt to justify its existence in matches. Let it be pretty. Period.

Camping and tunneling are definitely obnoxious. 1 survivor should NOT be able to be removed from a match before any other survivor even got hooked. It's a harassment and very unfair to survivors, especially solo q.

My problem with rifts are too many Kates, Mikaelas, Fengs, Neas and Megs, and not enough of other survivors. Like come on, these girls are swimming in cosmetics, let someone else have some. Especially male survivors. Also, change the colors of deep rift recolors every rift, it's been getting very repetitive.

I hope TCM leads DBD devs into adding new modes to their game. I think a lot of TCM enjoyers love that as a victim, you are always moving, doing something proactive. Sitting on a gen in DBD is far from it. Although, doing gens in DBD is a nice time of break/relax for us who do enjoy it.

I dont know if im being too dreamy about this; but i think its a good idea that if you reach the deep rift cosmetics, you can choose their color somewhat like Fortnite does. It would improve those skins a lot instead of being just blue ones

  • A lot of the issues that you mentioned come as a result of the gen-rush/anti-gen meta that we are now. Tunneling, camping and slugging are a “way to counter” gen-rush, playing killers like Knight in a 3 gen way instead of a double chase way (like how it was intented to) its other result of the gen-rush. And obviously, the survivors are enforced to do just gens, and gens. I dont know why the Circle of Healing patch came with anti-gen perks nerfs enforcing killers to play like that. I think that if the meta is changed a lot of the issues will dissapear

  • @JonOzzie16 said:

This is for the devs. So all of the toxic player base can comment on this and it will NOT be read, so get started typing away.

    1. Broken window hits. There is no way that Bubba should down me with his chainsaw on Haddonfield when I have vaulted and am halfway through the room. Bad ping favoring killers is complete garbage.

    2. Survivor nerfs. Basically all survivors can do now is generators. Which is boring AF. Healing nerfed. Boons nerfed. Sabo nerfed. Flashlights nerfed. This game is becoming a generator simulator.

    3. Hackers. I'm on console and I've taken all the necessary steps to report someone for hacking and simply received an email saying that I will never know the outcome of the report. Really? That's quite lazy and pathetic.

    4. Maps. The new map is horrible, barely any pallets. Open dead space with nothing but opportunity to get slapped with Hatchets or whatever. "Reworking maps" to favor killers. The farm maps have been ruined with ######### tiles.

    5. Skull merchant and Knight. This has to be the worst thing the devs have ever come up with. Both killers are terrible to go against. Promote 3 genning and are just annoying as all get out. I'd rather face pinhead and wesker on repeat than encounter either of those. Great job.

    6. 3 genning, tunneling, camping and slugging. These are all very utilized strategies by killers. They take a lot of fun out of the game. Tunneling I will say is the least of my worries. But hanging on a hook and laying on the ground is totally aggravating. I am certain the anti camping mechanic will never see the live servers. Prove me wrong.

    7. Catering to killer mains. We all know this forum is like 75% killer mains crying and begging devs to nerf this or that. And for some reason I suspect most of the devs are killer mains, because they love coddling killers and doing the bare minimum for survivors.

    8. TCSM is just a better game. Very balanced. And I'm very excited to see what they do with it. I hope it doesn't get the DBD treatment with nerfs and buffs every single patch until the game is just an unbalanced mess.

    9. Rifts, events, and cosmetics. There are rarely any good looking cosmetics. Most of them have blood splatter, rips and tears, look like they've been dragged through the mud. The rifts are FULL of ugly recolors, ugly charms, pathetically low bloodpoints. Etc.

    10. Daily rituals. They are not worth my time. I can't remember the last time I completed one. They are all killer sided. The rewards are far too low.

    11. Bugs. The PTB should include console platforms as well. Every single patch it seems console players are riddled with game breaking bugs that could have easily been prevented.

    12. DC penalties because your servers are #########. Can't count how many times I've been force kicked from games and got penalties because your servers suck. I've tested my connection and it's solid. This is the only game I'm getting issues from. Fix your servers or remove the DC penalty.

If you think about it, a lot of problems that you mention are a result of the gen-rush/anti-gen meta. The survs being forced just to do gens and gens and gens makes killers like Knight play in a 3 gen way instead of a double chase way for example. Tunneling, camping and slugging is a way of “countering” the gen-rush. I don’t know why the Circle of Healing patch nerfed anti-gen perks enforcing killers to play like that lol, if the meta is changed maybe a lot of things will be better

  • If you find it relaxing, it’s fine, my opinion when i played as SM is that her is so boring and it’s fine too. The issue with SM comes in what you like about her, when you play as killer you need to hear, be focused on what the survs are doing. That’s why i’m saying there’s apparently no point for you to play as SM against true players instead of bots, since you don’t care about what survivors are doing / will do. You just care about your 3 gen and camping it until the endgame, so why don’t do that against bots instead of runining the 4 survivors experience? It won’t affect your experience, and you won’t ruin others. It’s not an order, just a suggestion, because when i play against SM and see that she protects her 3 gen, i go right to her to kill myself on hook, it’s just not fun to play against a killer that ignores the fun part of DbD.

  • Play against bots and dont ruin the others experience. The things that you are saying that you can even listen to a podcast while playing, just says that SM is completely busted and needs no skill or concentration to play as. Certainly if you like that playstyle, you dont like DbD.

  • @ThaBatPope said:

have come across this multiple times and its VERY annoying. Two or more players do this and hold the game hostage so I have to DC

Avoid lobbies with flashlights, or use franklins demise meanwhile it gets fixed

  • Distortion is kind a 50/50 chance, like, it will work if the killer uses aura perks, if not, is just a wasted slot. I think that MFT is a bigger problem because it makes you faster than 2 of the Knight’s guards, if playing Knight is already a bad experience, imagine playing against 4 mft users. And also gives you an infinite advantage against every killer so…

  • @DaddyMyers_Mori said:

DBD is not really game for multiple mods.

It just doesn't work with asymmetric system, you already have two queues, where in one you need 4x more players.

With multiple mods you will end with only one playable anyway. Others will have impossible queue times.

it would be nice to include old events to custom games tho. I would like that.

Maybe just an unranked queue where there’s “weekly” events? Like random perks, random characters, because yeah, even a game like Rocket League have problems with their other game modes

I don't think anybody would ask to be able to grind more LOL.

Yes, that’s what i’m saying, like if for example you have Cheryl Mason prestiged at level 6, and also you bought James, James can also have his “bloody” costume, just that. Not meaning more characters to prestige or something else

I agree, but the ability to shut off my power which I specifically paid for should never be given to survivors.

I have a bunch of things to say about your post,

    1. Singularity needs to be countered like that, because slipstream can be easily spread into a survivor with one camera as you said, and also between survivors, thats why its in area and not self-useable like Virus-T Cure from Nemesis or useable in one survivor at a time like Uroboros Aid Spray. The point is that the Singularity needs that counter, because imagine if the counter didn’t exist, Singularity could be literally teleporting and teleporting right behind you, without even the need of a camera, because you will be slipstreamed.
    2. The thing mentioned in 1. is the main reason why people dont play Singularity, but there are some others like, the killer is so map dependant and is match dependant (Example: If you think the survivors will loop in shack and put a camera but nobody loops there in the match, your camera will be totally useless)
    3. Xenomorph’s counter is due to his power nature. Unlike Nemesis whip, Demogorgon’s Shred or Wesker’s Uroboros the tail attack doesn’t need to charge before using it, it just needs to be clicked. This in fact one of the most mentioned problems with Xenomorph, that there’s no clue about what the killer is going to do, unlike all the other killers that need to charge/activate an animation or sound to use their power. The turrets make the survivor to lose time collecting and putting them. You can even destroy the turrets with your tail attack, meaning you can destroy them earlier due to the attack’s range. And also if you lose your power, you can literally enter in a tunnel, spam W and S or A and D, and you can nearly insta-charge your power lol and exit by the same tunnel. It’s something that the devs need to be look into. But yeah, every decision have a reason to do it.

Could be a bug on Valve's end. Like I said earlier, some of us in Otz's Discord noticed it only happened after Steam maintenance on Tuesday evening.

It's not a bug from Valve. You can see the DLC's you own on the Support page, when you click the Dead by Daylight game. There you will see in "DLC's you own" all the DLC's, even the ones that you got from family sharing, so yeah, it's not Steam's fault or caused by some maintenance or update in their ToS like some people said before
