I have found a solution that is now my preferred method by far. I don't need this bug fixed anymore.

1: Download JoytoKey (I included it in the zip, but you can go to the site https://joytokey.net/en/download

2: Open the config file (Open With - Choose Another App - Select the JoyToKey.exe in the folder)

3: You can use any controller that's not Xinput (the game detects x-input now so it'll just cause this bug again)

Which means no Xbox controllers, everything else goes as long as it's a standard gamepad or directinput gamepad.

Step 1 :

Boot the game.

Step 2 :

Play as killer (Huntress) in a public match.

I don't think that's what they had in mind when they ask for steps to reproduce the bug homie.

I hit the leave match button eventually and just ate the penalty. I didn't get any error codes or anything.

Yeah that happened when they pushed out the patch today so I think that might have had something to do with it.

Hopefully there's a fix soon.

This is different than the colorblind issue, that didn't prevent someone from playing the game (just made it more difficult)

This is arguably unplayable.
