Do you enjoy knowing you won by killing a weak player? Did you improve at the game? Will you go to Disney land to celebrate such a great victory? lol. Your example is pretty common. How you handle it is really the point of character.

You could do as you said and tunnel them out, and poof, game is over right there. 3-5 mins? Maybe?

Or do as you said "I'll chase the other guy I can see as well. I'm clearly winning at the moment, maybe I'll try to have some fun with the game."

That probably didn't occur to you, and thats fine. Some can't think past themselves in most things. Game on!

Fine then tell me, why as killer i should not ask for the same kindess from survivors ?

Let's say one gen is left, no one is dead and everyone has 1 hook, why i should not DEMAND that a survivor come to me and allow me to kill him ? Oh no wait, survivors can demand a "fair play", demand spreading hooks and demand the killer to be a moron with no strategy or logic but what survivors are supposed to do to return the favor ? drop the item before leaving ?

No man, people play to win, that's all matter in the end and i'm having a lot of fun, doesn't matter if i tunnel out the weakest one at 5 gen, not my fault if he is the weak link

  • I'm really curious to know why i should NOT tunnel someone out if that help me to win the game

Let's say one survivor has 2 hooks and he's the obviously the weak link in the suvivors team, another survivor with one hook and two with zero hooks. If i find the one with 2 hooks, why i've to say "hey you know, i'll chase the other don't worry" ? I don't think he is going to sit in a corner doing nothing and waitin his turn to be killed, he is going to do gens or other actions to win as well.

So why i should not tunnel someone ? why i've to respect a fake rule saying "you're not allowed to tunnel at 5 gens?" or other craps like that ? Are survivors working on a gent at time and don't run away when i move closer ? No they are not doing it.

Your role is to repair gen and escape, my role is to prevent you to repair gen and kill as many i can

  • @GeneralV said:

Yes, tunneling is a bit out of control.

Without DS as punishment or BBQ as an incentive to not tunnel, there isn't much that can be done if the killer decides they want you out of the game ASAP.

The upcoming DS changes have to be a good buff, because it is the best chance to fix this problem, and the only thing survivors will be getting for a little while.

I don't think more crouch perks is the answer, maybe learn to loop, learn to stop unhooking while the killer is few feets away, learn map design ( and almost every map is survivor side ), learn how to work on gens instead of tryin to troll the Killer because "my favorite content creator do it, i will do it myself screw my team mates" and so on.

The times of the "survivors rulebook" are finally over and those made up stupid rules are just garbage, both side play to win, if tunneling is the best and fast way to win then i'll do it. And no, a cruch perk won't change anything at all until people learn how to play the game, there it will be always rescuse under the hook while the killer is there, people doing boons, people hidin in the locker the entier match and more.

  • Maps I like are: Midwich, The Game and the entire mcMillan's realm

Maps that i hate are : Garden of Joy, the entire springwood realm

Maps that are hideous, unplayable and should be deleted : Hawkin's lab

  • The only way to "fix SoloQ" is to create a ranked mode, balance the survivors around SoloQ and allow SWF to play unranked mose or custom mode or event mode

Cheaters say reporting does nothing to try and dissuade players from filling out a report.

For hacking, it helps to have evidence and a report on their main report page to go with the in-game report. That said, chances are they cheat every game they run and will run into so many players reporting them BHVR has to direct their attention to them at some point, and even risk multiple people turning in video evidence.

And then what happen ? There's no hardware ban so they can simply swap account and ruin another game. Why i've to spend a lot of time to create a video, edit a video, submit a video to report someone who could simply play the game ? Honestly i'm frustrated to see how little our reports do and the silence from devs on this matter. A new anti cheating software, a better in game report, hardware ban and more harsh action against cheaters should be put in place

    Wallhacks. Mending simulator. ZERO counterplay.

The Legion was destroying us. 2 survivors were on hook and we only had 1 gen done. The Legion tagged me and ran off.

The ONLY way to be invisible to Legion's STUPID WALLHACKS is NOT to mend, so I didn't mend! BUT, I have to keep moving so I don't bleed out... I ran to the basement and started running laps to keep from bleeding out.

The Legion found the last survivor and slugged them. I waited to fully mend myself just in case they had Unbreakable. Otherwise the Legion will just tag them again and then use WALLHACKS to find me. When I saw their recovery stop at 95% I fully mended myself. But no...

Even though they did not crawl toward me while slugged or run straight to me after the Legion let them wiggle free, the Legion just had to simply tag them with Feral Frenzy and come straight to me with WALLHACKS!

    ----

The ONLY counterplay to Legion is being extremely good at playing injured and looping the killer. "Spread out" doesn't mean jack when it comes to solo q because I cannot physically keep my teammates away from me!

I am NOT extremely good at playing injured or looping M1 killers, so I should NOT be facing Legions until then!

Back to maining killer for the next few months.

If Killer instinct ( an ability many killers has other Legion ) it's a "wallhack" i do wonder Lethal or NWH or any other aura reading perks are to you

  • Nothing new here, cheaters are everywere at least in EU server and nothing has been done to block them

Which I think is extremely dumb because Hatch is, for all intents and purposes, keeping the Kill Rates lower.

If you get out through Hatch, you aren't winning. When you see a 40% ER, knock off a percentage for Hatch Escapes. It means ONE, that's right, ONE Survivor is on average escaping from the trial.

Well it's your opinion and I won't argue with what you think is or isn't dumb

You can't nerf SWFs without nerfing SoloQ in general that's what I was referring to.

For the same reason killer perks shouldn't be nerfed just cause Nurse/Blight exist.

On the other hand, you can't buff SoloQ without buffing even more SWF and, according to numbers, SoloQ need to be slightly buffed

As said, that's a problem bhvr have to solve one day, they can't work on survivors whitout noticing the huge difference between SoloQ and SWF

  • @Pulsar said:

And SM is killing 3 people per match.

Survivors should escape 50% of the time, if you want balance.

Well, BVHR think differently "We try to keep Killers near a 60% kill rate on average"

  • @Gabe_Soma said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3649991#Comment_3649991

How and why would you nerf SWF without destroying survivors in general and only because that 5% of the total (High MMR) is 'problematic'?

BHVR should decide if this game is designed for SoloQ or SWF and then balance the game around this decision ( for example, a ranked mode only for SoloQ and a casual mode for swf )

  • @Pulsar said:

So, basically exactly what I've been saying.

39% escape rate and those pesky awful sweaty 4-man SWF's at high MMR aren't even escaping HALF the time.

    Also, lmao, Skull Merchant.

Not a single Killer getting less than 2 Kills.

Those persky awful sweaty 4-man SWF at high MMR are escaping 8% more than what it supposed to be, they are not suppose to escape HALF the time but they are very close to it

58% is likely fine. This is an average against all killers, so some individual killers might be underperforming and need some buffs.

On the reverse some killers also might be overperforming and need some nerfs.

Indeed, some tweek and and there, some need to be buffed while other nerfed, overall they are bit under the 60%, just a bit, they are in a pretty good spot, just few QoL could help to reach the 60% without ruining the statistics

What really need to be looked at is the 48% in the High MMR 4 men SWF

  • Overall KR Average is 58.50%, a bit under the target of 60% KR, a slight overall buff to killers in general is needed

High MMR 4 man SWF is 48 % not a surprise, that's why SWF should be nerfed

High MMR soloQ 39% a bit under 40% they can perfom well but need to be slightly buffed

Those number mean SWF and SoloQ need two separate mode and a separate balancing, BHVR can't keep working as survivors thinking they are just a single group becuase they aren't

Taking Steam data, the player base continues to decline. I know Steam doesn't count consoles and I'm not saying dbd is dying. But why?

The game is much more balanced now than 2-3 years ago, killers are very solid and viable (except for a few), there are many balanced maps (except for a few), many "broken" strategies no longer exist...

In theory the player base should increase and not decrease.

Some people will now say "there are no new game modes"... "lights out" had literally no effect on player numbers.

    your opinions?

Map are NOT balanced and at least 10-15 killers are just crap, game is a bit more balanced than before but still not balanced enough

What has lead me to leave the game are

-cheaters : way too many cheaters and too little effort to stop them

    - q&a : they keep pushing out content but the q&a is very very lacking, too many bugs, too many emergency fixes, "balance" changes take months or even years

-very few changes : the core game is the same as 7 years ago

-lack of communication from the Devs

    I agree with you.

First of all, developers and everyone must understand that in any competitive game there are two types of players

→players who prefer casual play and

    →players who prefer ranked play.

And both players need to be respected.

Many, many players are asking for that but for some reason for the Dev it's better to have both comp and casual all togheter in the same pool and use a very broken MMR system

  • @baharuto48 said:

I know there are a lot of people that say the only way they can have fun is by winning. And then they will define what winning means to them. But, is there a way that all five players can have fun in the same match? Does anybody ever have a match where they're like "Man, that was a great match; we were all pretty evenly skilled and it was so fun. I want to keep playing!"?

Sorry but that doesn't make sense, I'm not responsible for other people's enjoyment, it's not my job to entertain others. If they have fun good, if they don't have fun they can change game

  • Dev should decide if this game IS a casual game or a competive game

A rank system should be enable, ranked mode and casual mode and then start to balance on the route they have choosen.

Game is casual ? fine then the balance should lead in that direction, otherwise in the comp direction

Same goes for SWF and SoloQ, Dev should decide if the game is designed to be SWF or SoloQ, because BOTH are not working

So let's say they decide this game should be SoloQ competive then the balance should revole around those factors, for example the ranked mode is only allowed to soloq ( SFW can play in casual lobby but not in the ranked mode ).

Another change is the number of SWF in a game, max 2. Four are allowed only in custom mode

How on earth are those first two things possible?

Even counting extreme edge cases I think those numbers are kind of a stretch, what am I missing?

Video is a bit older but it has been made after the healing nerf and iirc a bit before pt and bnp slighty nerf ( or around that time anyway )

So yeah, it is possibile to do a gen in 25 seconds and heal in 6 seconds

    https://youtu.be/X_nsrd1IZiQ?si=UNaZF9xHZ0ZWr4OT

  • @C3Tooth said:

Would you prefer to go back to pre 6.1.0 patch? Because its seem that currently the game is alot harder for most killers after 6.1.0.

Perhaps it was alot easier for killers to play against

    • 5sec DS that activate in end game
    • DH for distance
    • Circle of healing to heal in 12sec
    • minus 50sec extra of Gen
    • 16sec of self healing
    • 3 health stage Medkits
    • old BNP
    • survivors get more distance on hit
    • killers get no progression lost on Gen kick
    • Gen tap
    • slower weapon cool down
    • no Shadowborne basekit...

And yet gens can be done in 25 seconds (or less), healing can be done in 5 seconds or even mid-chase with a layer of endurance, way to many perks can provide speed boost ( and they stack ), there are permanent buff ( WoO, Deja.Vu, and so on ) and a comp SWF can beat almost any killer

So yeah, no it's no better than before, it's just different than before

  • Problem is BHVR have to solve this issue not the players. Players ( killers and survivors ) play to win and both side use the most easy tactics, the most OP perks, the most best item to win. I do tunnel not at 5 gen, i start to tunnel as soon the game begin, why ? Because i can, because is not against the rules and it's a valid strategy to win the match and, on my opponent side i doubt they bring the best toolbox and item just because they want to "have fun", they play to win exactly like me. It is BVHR responsability fix the game in order to avoid tunneling ( for example ), gen rushsing or slugging or anything else that may ruin the game but it is NOT players fault

  • After 2k hours, this mod made me wanting to play DbD

The "normal mode" is a meta fest, swf all over the place, insane perk and more, this mode is like the "root" of the game, a bare experience and i'm loving it so much, here skills matter, not OP perks

  • Best part of this mod is the "no perk" side, that's why i'm loving it

Watching survivors running clueless around because they can't use WoO is priceless

This mod should be used by the Dev to realize how much perks impact on the game, more than anything else
