  • I can't go anywhere DBD related and not hear people screaming "The sky is falling!". I keep trying to understand their frustrations because how could an entire mob of people be wrong? I played a few matches yesterday and a ton today (Survivor & Killer mind you). Um, what is everyone smoking?

People seem to be upset that the UI is in multiple locations on the screen. As if peoples eyes are glues forward and they have to rotate their head completely in a new direction to see the information. People are like 'The focus is everywhere!!!'. You mean like a lot of other games out there? Metal Gear Solid had a radar top right. Life/Armor top left. Weapons bottom right, and items bottom left. Obviously the UI was just to complicated for PS1 players to understand so the game never sold any copies and it's a barely known game now a days (sarcasm). The new UI is fine. Every match I've played I was able to find the information needed within a split second. I think what we have here is a bunch of people with thousands of hours really upset the game has changed, and they don't like change. Please -_-

The Survivor pictures for the new UI are pretty bland & out of place though. I keep seeing a mock UI example in this thread where the Survivor faces are just a simple white portrait (I don't care the location these portraits get placed on the screen mind you). Those simple white portraits are dope as hell and would fit the UI/game waaaaaay more. The color portraits used new just for some reason aesthetically don't work.

The animations are okay. I'm not going to say they're great but they work.

Survivor new movements are just amazing though!! (I've been playing mainly Survivor mind you!) Having people spin like drills because they spam keyboard & mouse movements has always been super cringe. I mean this community wants this game to become competitive right? Having absurd movement actions doesn't give DBD credibility at all. Trying to use a Killer power on a Survivor who is spazzing their movements out has made a lot of long time Killer vets stop playing specific Killers, or Killer at all. I'm speaking about people with thousands of hours practiced just dropping fun Killer because of how erratic Survivor movements have become. It was only a matter of time before BHVR had to reign in how extreme the movement have become. Don't worry Survivors! Remember, these type of movement abuses only really work on "Baby" Killers, right? So why care if they get nerfed? You know you play so many hours you usually play vs high ranked Killers anyways. Obviously such tactic which is only good vs "Babies" won't be missed at all, right? (sarcasm) Typical exploit abusing gamers with their backward logic *rolls eyes*

After the complete overreaction displayed about this update I can now understand why BHVR doesn't regularly ask for feedback from the community like they did with the new possible OoO change. The DBD community is just mental.

  • Wow, just in a short period a lot of terrible things in the game are being changed for the better. Mori's & Undying were just terrible and I rejoiced when I heard their changes. I'm doing the same for DS & the proposed OoO change. Very nicely done BHVR. There are plenty of other things to shore up in the game and you folks seem focused on making DBD the best it can be. I look forward to the future of this game.

Dude, you didn't read the original post at all. How am I miss timing the flashlight if I'm getting successful We're Gonna Live Forever stacks? We're Gonna Live Forever gives you a stack for flashlight saves

Incorrect, you get a stack when you blind the killer whilst the survivor is on their shoulder. Go into a custom game and try it. Blind them early, get a stack. Blind mid-hook animation, get a stack. I know this because blinding mid-hook animation is literally how I farm stacks.

Please read the post before just assuming you know what ppl are talking about and just bluntly blurbing out rubbish.

I did, and I applied my own knowledge to answer your issue. You're mistiming it, it's that simple, and take this from someone who uses WGLF and a flashlight literally every single survivor game. Please, learn how the game and it's perks work before blubing out rubbish.

"you get a stack when you blind the killer whilst the survivor is on their shoulder."

Exactly. That's the whole reason I made the post to begin with. I'm stating that it's not working properly.

We're Gonna Live Forever states: "Blind the Killer to rescue a carried Survivor."

So if I use a flashlight on a Killer and get a stack from WGLF and the Survivor doesn't get rescued by the flashlight, that means there is a bug. The original post stated this. Please go back and read the original post to understand what we are talking about.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

This is what happens when you mistime it. Either too early, and they don't drop, or too late and they're already mid hook prompt.

Dude, you didn't read the original post at all. How am I miss timing the flashlight if I'm getting successful We're Gonna Live Forever stacks? We're Gonna Live Forever gives you a stack for flashlight saves. If I'm getting the stack that means I successfully blinded the Killer and the dying survivor should be dropped by the Killer. Nah this is an actual issue.. I've had this happen to me countless of times since the update/patch/hotfix. You can time it perfectly and they just keep on walking right through it. I've had it happen while the pickup animation was completely over and the Killer was walking. Got the notification for the blind being successful but they didn't drop the survivor.

Okay so I'm not the only one. I'll put a post in the bugs section then. I really wish flashlights would just work properly for once. They're bugged in one way or another every other patch/update and when you try to talk about it 75%+ of the time ppl just auto say "You did it wrong". Like no it's not me if We're Gonna Live Forever is registering it as successful, the flashlight animation (Which btw is super easy to notice when it works or not by the animation alone) shows the full blind, and the game just doesn't register the save for the Killer so they still get to hook. Flashlights aren't that hard to use. Ppl act as if its brain surgery or something.

  • Thank God they finally nerfed Mori's. Watching the Killers offering not spin around because it was secret always ruined a match before it even started. All survivors would play super stealthy bush wookie, and the killer just camps/tunnels the first hooked survivor bcuz you know... that's the whole reason they brought the mori to start with. Good riddance OP offering.

So BHVR, whatcha gonna do to keys? ;)

  • The problems with the Twins revolve around their power. The best way to use Charlotte is to park her somewhere & camp. Every match I face versus the Twins involves hook camping, basement camping, blocking doorways to gens, blocking exit gate levers, and camping the exit gate. The Killer is literally a 'How to' guide for terrible camping style game play. I honestly think that BHVR needs to go back to the drawing board with the Twins and rework their power to remove the camping style of game play it promotes. The longer the Killer is out, the worse it's gonna get.

  • The Twins are a hook camping/slugging machine. Give it a couple months. Survivors will grumble every time they see The Twins and DC/Kill themselves on hook at the start of the match. It's going to be miserable to play The Twins.

I also feel as time goes on their will be little to no counter play to be had versus Victor. Once people get his attack down you will have little chance getting away from him. Try tossing a pallet. He will just wait and lunge at you over the pallet. Try vaulting. As soon as you start the vault animation he will just lunge at you. Try spinning. He will just hold his lunge until an opportune time and then strike. He's invulnerable until the Killer makes a mistake. Once Killers get good enough with him that they make almost no mistakes, he is just going to run rooms. Meanwhile Charlotte will be parked back at the hook camping a Survivor.

  • @SquirrelKnight said:

What does victor even do anyway? From what i can tell hes like a really crappy hatchet

He lets Charlotte camp the Survivor on the hook while still providing map pressure. If Survivors are injured he is a slug machine.

  • I've been having the worst hit reg today. Killers will complete their full hit animation, another split second will go by, and THEN the hit registers. This is happening when the Killer clearly hit me with an attack and when the hit is questionable. I'm playing Survivor only today so I'm not sure how it feels playing as Killer atm. I'd assume it's all the same. The game has a lot of people on right this second and I'm sure the servers are just acting wonky. In the week before the new release I was playing regularly and the hit reg was feeling as normal as DBD dedicated servers will allow for.

  • Events for games are usually about giving to the community. This event seems to be about getting more money from our wallets & trying to take up every last minute of our free time watching twitch content creators dangling trinkets over our heads. This is a non-event. It's all about what BHVR can get from the community, not the other way around.

  • I love Midwich as Survivor & Killer.

  • I tried creating a BHVR account today so that I could setup cross progression. When I got to the email verification step of the process, BHVR's website just stopped functioning properly. The code I was sent didn't work. Requesting a new code didn't work. After logging out and trying to log back in, BHVR's site told me my email or password were wrong. When I tried recreating the exact same account and I was told that the email was already taken by a player (No duh, that player is ME!). When I tried to change my password and BHVR's site told me my email wasn't used for any account...... wait.. what!?

Are You Serious!? I'm trying to create a simple account for a website. EVERY website on the planet can do this flawlessly. But not BHVR. I put a ticket in to have the issue resolved, but I wont expect any customer support anytime soon because it usually takes 3 months to hear a reply. This is ridiculous. Any amateur operation could do this without a hitch.

Cosmetics though! There is nothing wrong with the cosmetics department for DBD. They are pumping out art assets on a staggering pace! And the DwightCrow code! Like nice job spitting on the majority of customers/community which are Console players. I've only been playing since the Silent Hill release but I'm already getting the impression that I shouldn't invest anymore money into DBD cosmetics. This developer has its priorities in the wrong place and I shouldn't instigate their bad practices.

  • I've pretty much been watching DBD creator content daily since I started playing several months ago. The code system which is being used for the DwightCrow is disgusting. I'm personally boycotting watching any DBD creator content until this event is over with. Shame on you BHVR.

  • The DwightCrow code giveaway is a TERRIBLE idea. I just had a streamer list 5 codes (minus the last two characters of each code) and then they posted the last two characters of each code all at once. I punched it in within less then a second and was... to late? How are console people going to do this if I can't do it on PC in under a second? The way BHVR is going about this is so archaic.

I'm personally boycotting all DBD creator content until the event is over because of how mismanaged this is. BHVR, you can't buy my unlimited attention by dangling a silly little trinket over my head. It's extremely insulting to your customers/community when you treat us like this.

    Please just stop...

Changes has to be done with him OBVIOUSLY and this is the right call on him, just accept it. Also pretty much the same will happen to Deathslinger 100%, so better safe your tears.

Let me look in my cristal ball.. next on the nerf list are:

    • Keys
    • DS (once survivor is doing any action, DS deactivates)
    • Moris
    • Unbreakable (recovery speed nerf)
    • Infectious Fright (cooldown of ~30 seconds)

Just because you want him changed doesn't mean he requires changes. I 100% disagree with you. As many people in this thread have stated, their opinion is the proposed changes wont help him be more palatable to the Survivor community and will probably leave PH a low tier rubbish Killer. Most opinions in here also seem to think he isn't overpowered to begin with and are questioning why he is suddenly being overall nerfed.

I also dislike how you have a list of everything that needs changes and that will be changed as if you are the end all of DBD. I took a look and a lot of your recent comments on this forum and a vast majority of them is you talking down to someone about how you know more and they are wrong. People are allow to come in here and have individual opinions. We don't need your list of things that "100%" will be changed which justifies you telling us to basically 'shut up'. If we want to make a thread and have a discussion about the PH changes we will and we don't need you coming in and trying to browbeat us into not doing so.

  • I know this isn't exactly the topic being discussed in this thread but I wanted to state my 2 cents about PH before PTB drops and we test it.

My issue with the proposed changes has more to do with why is PH next on the chopping block for changes? There are a dozen or more truly abusive things that the community has been begging the developers to change for ages and they continue to ignore them. When I load into a match vs a Huntress and the very first teammate that gets downed auto DC's due to Iri head (usually along with the rest of my team) I see that as a much more pressing issue to be fixing. People hear or see Spirit in a match for 1 second and auto DC. I regularly see PH's who are competent enough to get downs, hooks, and "cancel" loops by using their power efficiently and STILL don't get 4ks. PH isn't that strong.

I would also like to bring up that if they are making changes to PH now, could we please get some add-on changes? I mean his ultra rares are ultra garbage in disguise. He has such a dud set of add-ons and I feel like if they are going over PH now, they mine as well tweak those to make them better while they are at it. I would love some useful add-ons that actually bring diversity in the play style of this killer. Blight's add-ons are amazing and he has only been out a couple weeks and BHVR is already tweaking his. Can PH's add-ons get a little love please?

  • I've got less then 100hr total as Killer & am rank 12 green.

I did an MMR experiment yesterday. I took the Pig, a Killer I literally have never used before, and I started playing her. I played 12 matches in a row and purposely got as little emblem/blood points for each match. Out of 12 matches I got zero hooks and only killed 1 single survivor (a Bill with a bear trap hat tried leaving). Over the 12 matches the Match making system kept ramping up the ranks I would play against. At the end I was facing 3 red/purp & a green.

Today I logged in and played Pig to see what ranks I would play against. I got the sweatiest of sweaty SWF full red ranks. Multiple unbreakables, DS's, BT's... meta builds to the max. Yesterday I literally only got one gold emblem, a couple bronze, and a single kill in the 12 matches, and the MMR system has placed me at the top of the system to face sweaty SWF red rank groups.

I'm confident in saying the DBD MMR system doesn't work properly. Whatever metrics BHVR is using or however the match making system is calculating "balanced" matches is not working as intended. Playing more matches doesn't fix the issue. The issue isn't based on the MMR system needing time to calibrate itself. The system isn't calculating results properly and is miss pairing everyone to the extremes which is creating the most unbalanced matches possible.

  • For me as Killer the match making is extremely extremely poor. I've played less then 100hrs as Killer so far and ever since the new MMR system was implemented all I get is SWF Red Rank teams... every... single... match. I just keep playing the same Killer over and over in hopes the system will register I'm in the wrong MMR bracket. I've all but given up and have put on a meme build. My end game scores have tanked even harder and somehow the system just keeps sending me SWF Red Rank teams.

I have played a lot more Solo Survivor then Killer and my matches as Survivor are acceptable as of now. Sure I get flop teams & overpowered Killers regularly, but I also see more lowbie Killers then I ever did before the new MMR was implemented. I guess on the Survivor end the MMR system is trying to find me lowbie Killers I can noob loop and both me and the Killer can look like goofs together as we learn.

Overall the new MMR system is a pretty underwhelming experience. I would really love to know what metrics BHVR is using to determine skill level.
