I try to ignore them once I realize they are cheating and kill the rest of the team if possible. So far it has worked and nobody has taken my game hostage. It sucks but I am sure the devs understand the impact it has on the game and are working to address it. This is in their best interest.

I try to do the same but usually the game will be busted anyway. I have to say I can't reall imagine that they already noticed how bad it is already. If you follow some streams than you will see that they take the games hostage. It must be known but it doesn't really feel like something is happening. Maybe they think it is just a problem for streamers, but it is not. This game is pested by cheaters.

  • Same Problem. Trying to queue for Survivor results in the same Error: Timeout

  • Sure, it is stil la problem of the matchmaking that you have people who doesn't even use the information they are given in highranks. but this is a different problem, what should not be topic here.

I see it all the time there when I play survivor and a killer camps that the lack of information is what gets everyone killed in the end, because no gens get done or, that is the second effect, the solos never know that they have to work together quickly here before it is much to late.

  • 32m was much more of an example, sine terroradius wont affect stealth campers the hooked can still "see". I often run kindred and don't get saved anyway. killer there or not, surely this wont fix that some people don't really care about the game, but why does this matter in this regard?

Swf can always tell a killer is around and focus on gens, solos have to come to the hook just to find out what is going on. every single one of them. That is what makes camping so effective and therefore common.

  • There is no universal language for survivors. Some wriggle just for fun, you will enver know. It is solo Q. there must be some mechanics what helps with stuff like this, and not some bandwagon perks everyone needs.

  • That is what I mean, while I do not really care if someone is salty post game. They are just embarassing themselves, like unsporting was something anyone would find funny and nothing every normal person looks down to. *roll eyes*

When they really want to do something against toxicity than fix perma *clicky clicky* and teabag. Like make it like you dropped down from somewhere after htting crouch two times in a second, before you can sprint again. the game is stressful and this is building the frustration you are gonna see endgame chat.

  • You are wrong. I would only play killer if my connection wouldn't travel back in time to early-2000-levels every evening.

  • Of the extreme hackers (like insta heal, insta repair gen, fly around, etc.) I have the same quote. I am talking about people who turn their movementspeed sligtly up so that they will look like they run normally unlike you chase them and realize that you are actually slower than them as a killer.

  • I am sadly not able to record it. It isn't obvious always from the start. The reason why I opened the thread was an obvious case, the guy never cared and just had perma "sprint". But most times you realize as a killer that they are slightly fast than you. Furst you think, okay, maybe I take to huge turns? But than they outrun you on a straight line and you know what is going on. I didnt play for month. It wasnt that bad before. Now I see them much to often and want to raise awareness. I think it is a serious problem already.

  • Can imagine that. To be true, I would not recognize it on a killer so easy, but why shouldn't it be used there, too.

    Maybe specify?

    Things that have to go:

''SWF and certain perks like Object of Obsession and items like Maps.''

And what you're saying for the gens is that i should not pop the gen that is 1 second away from being done so i don't hurt the killer's feelings?

    Big lol.

Stop being so sensitive over a video game, mate.

    And what about my feelings?

What if i get face camped with a chainsaw and no one comes to save me?

Go and cry on the forum's shoulders like you?

######### read the post actually man. it is specified by the context and i am talking about facecamping, too. and i start with 10% which are actually 8 seconds, not the last 1. and this is just for an not so extreme average since gens get done from the stzart in your face if you met real players.

but you just refuse to read the post, so you just keep on asuming what i maybe wrote, meant and didnt mention, not? but at the end, personal attacks are always better than trying to counter the arguments, so why waste your time in getting to know the point of view of the other one. a few keywords, imagine the rest and you are ready to go

@HectorBrando i usually lose 2 gens, always before i hook the first. even if i hit everyone and have one slugged. with myers i could end up losing even 3 before leaving tier 1 if they play really carefully with spinechill. really rare, but it happend and i played much myers, too, so it doesnt comes from all to big mistakes(not to say that i am godtier myers, but iam good enough to pull of good games if i didnt end up with 2 gens of each side of coldwind after the second hook. i had a game yesterday on azarovs, played freddy. i relized early that i was going against a good swf, got one who dropped pallets really early, even the god one was gone at the start of the game. they did 2 gens on the other side, while i planed my now nealy pallet free 3 gen area to protect. y bad for me they just come in and finished the gen while i was slashing through them. just sprint away, i goes for him.. rest straight back to the gen. i hit them often(downed but didnt hooked, since i dont have the time) and they take long for the gen, but at the end they got the gen and i got nothing out of it and iam pretty sure that was nothing i could have done but too hook the first downed to have at least this because i didnt have the power to stop them. it was the maximum of possible "pressure gens" without a instadown(played freddy) i could thought of, but it wasnt enough because they just didnt care and why should they... it isn't an allday happening, but it is possible and if people would be good as their ranks it would happen regulary

    Things that have to go:

    OP's post.

I get how SWF has the biggest advantages in a game like this, but you do know that IF they remove it the player base would drop drastically, right?

And good players will always pop a gen right in front of your face because they are not scared.I know how much it sucks as a killer but don't expect me to run to the other edge of the map because you are coming my way when my gen is like 98% done.

maybe read? there is no where seen that swf should get removed. just certain perks should be blocked for swf. and for the gen, see the other post. you can do much more than just 2% while the killer is already there and not "coming your way". it should be a high risk , high reward thing, but actually it is an rly low risk, especially with adrenaline, dh and dedicated servers. if you had read the post you could discuss the suggestion of not being able to repair after you got hitted but i think that would be to hard? better make more assumptions like removing swf was the intention

  • @Steve0333 said:

Lol why do maps have to go? You know maps have an add on that allows all survivors to see the aura of the map. So maps dont really give swfs an advantage that you cant get with solo. Maps are not that strong anyway. They are good for totem hunting and finding the hatch but that's it.

And survivors finishing gens in front of the killer is not done to " disrespect" the killer like tea bagging is. It's normal for survivors to commit to a gen and accept a hit if it's close to being finished. Why would I run away from a gen that has only a second left and risk it being popped goes the weasel'd and then regressing to a point it never gets done?

At least they have to use an addon for the same effect on maps and dont come with ultra range...

And the problem with face-gen-finishing is not "disrespect" like teabagging but the problem, that you cant pressure gens when they get finished in front of your face. Why would you run away? Because the ######### killer is behind you. But you see, you dont want to give a ######### about this fact, since why run, gen is nearly done who cares about the killer...If it a second to go, avoid the hit and go for it. But actually it is much more there are 5-10 seconds to go and you just push through it. And a group of good survivors can finish it form the scratch while the killer is next to it if he doesnt have instadowns. it is just about "pressure gens" while you just cant pressure gens if survivors dont let themselves pressured because they dont care about the killer, like you actually do?

I'm a survivor main, and tbh I don't like the ruin nerf. I think they could have nerfed it, but still kept it somewhat more powerful. Playing before the nerf, seeing that ruin was like a panic and you HAD to go find that totem. Now when I see ruin, I'm just like "oh dangit, ruin I guess" and don't feel the need to desperately find that totem.

That is why games go always faster now even compared to games without using Ruin before. Usually there were one or two Survivors who would just start searching for a possible Ruin before hitting a gen. Now everyone just jumps on the gen.

We've nerfed plenty of survivor perks as well, if time isn't a factor. Let's not forget that Sprint Burst used to have a 20 second cooldown and recharge mid-chase. Several nerfs later, you could still stack it with Lithe, Balanced Landing, and Dead Hard. Nowadays Exhaustion exists, and it doesn't cooldown while running at all.

Double pallets are gone, DS doesn't activate the first time you pick someone up, MoM has been massively toned down, instaheals are no more, instablinds are dead and gone, vacuums have lost their suck- the list goes on. There's changes to both sides, we're not picking favourites. Sometimes there's going to be changes that are great for you, sometimes the pendulum swings back the other way.

Have you ever discussed that without those short gen times you could buff survivors and give them tools to "outplay" the killer without destroying the whole game, because even a tiny mistake(or good play of a survivor) currently can mean a 4 man escape? if gens wouldnt pop so fast you could get more meaning to sabotage again, since a failed hook wouldnt be an insta loss, you can make escaping chases more likely, since it wouldnt mean game over right asap, etc?

i saw you commenting in another thread a few days ago, that it wouldnt be fun for survivors(though i pla as much survivor as i play killer..) to hold m1 on a gen. that may be true, but currently there isnt much you could do beside doing a gen, since everything else i ineffective, and it had to be this way or it would be impossible for killers to kill something.

just think about the possibility of longer games... you could buff survivors so that they can work against the killer, since a dead mate will much more crucial than an unfinished gen finally. holding m1 for longer will open the room to get much more of the exciting stuff.

actually it is just boring, because you hold it down for 3-4 minutes, run through the door and have to wait for the next 3-4 minutes of holding m1, or you are the one with the quick action, are not the best looper and got killed in a min so that m1 is still the biggest part of your gameplay...

in my opinion gen times are the biggest issue of the game, and an average lasting ruin was the only way to produce exciting games if there were good survivors for the challenge...

  • why should nerfing swf affect solo survivor? you can just add handicaps for prebuild groups. like 2 in a grp -10% action speed, 3 -25% and full swf -50%.(numbers are just a random example...)

or things like no hatch spawn for swf, 10% faster entity calling. so many things possible without touching solo

  • Killer is unplayable, 30 ms and plays like 500 ms before. Much less problems as a survivor, since for every hit i take thanks to the lag the killer misses 5. Maybe wasting some pallets because i throw them early since you cant be sure. People who say that they dont have problems are either lying or to, lets be nice and say too unexperienced, to notice the huge desyncs.

  • @MeatBycicle said:

Dedicated servers have been completely fine for me and have no effect on how fast your ruin gets cleansed.

Where did is say that it have an effect on ruin? The game is unplayable as killer. Yes i play mostly survivors the last days, because it hurts the killer much more. For every late hit on a pallet or more he hits 5 time the air. And my ping is superb but this doesnt matter. With killer i even reached bloodlust tier 3. I never saw tier 2 before the servers. Now i hit into a full screen of survivor and still miss. And thats why i say i leave when ruin get cleansed to early, because chases take 3 times longer than before. And this is just one issue on a long list.

  • Main reason to rage quit is when you think that anything you cant control holding you back. Like a bad team or in this case lag.

I have to admit i am doing the same when my Ruin gets cleansed before i even reached it. I didnt do it before, but the servers made playing killer frustrating and a real pain. And without Ruin it is just a frustrating waste of time currently and i just cant stand it anymore.

Sorry for anyone there but deidicated servers are ######### and i am completly fed up. Pretty sure that this goes for many people who play killer and that is why you see this more often.

  • The servers showed to be a very bad idea. You will never have the same results like ptp. Desync is a huge problem and game breaking. For Feedback here is my list of issues, sadly i am not able to make videos for you to show how bad it really is, while i usually have 50 ms ping(central germany):

    Survivor side:

    1. Vaulting or using a pallet and get hit a second later
    2. Using Dead Heart and still get hit
    3. Killer isnt at the position you see him

Killer side(much worse and unplayable since there is much more player interaction):

    1. Your screen is full of survivor buy you miss
    2. Survivor seems to run against an obstacle and you swing into nothing while he appears serveral meters away
    3. Survivors move sometimes like they are hold by rubberbands or straight blinking over the screen
    4. Starting Grapanimation just to get cancelled out of it after a second while your victim teleports speed away
    5. Sometimes survivors seems to be too fast, like they have perma haste.
    6. You passed the pallet and hit, just to get thrown back into a stun on the other side without hitting
    7. Sometimes scratched didnt seem to appear or appear to late

-> Because of the jerky movement of survivors, it is extremly hard to hold track when they are close

I think you had the best wishes for the servers, butz i can promise they will never work as intended. Many fps games suffer from desync which is especially a problem on close encounters, and dbd is a game of close encounters. When you first start the game im pretty sure that you didnt choose peer to peer just because of cost, since it will always have the best results for this kind of game. Please remember that, i am not ready to lose dbd yet :(

I played like 30 games per day on average so it makes around 400 games and it happened only once. I dont know what exactly the problem is but it seems it affect some people more than others.

my guess is something related to packet loss with certain internet providers

From 30 games it happen only once not, if i am lucky. If this will be the new state of game, dbd is going toi be dead for me soon. It is unplayable and never will. They would be the first fixing desync

  • @steezo_de said:

Playing Myers right now is rough. I'm sure they can fix the EW gauge with some tweaking but one thing I haven't heard many people talk about is the jerky survivor movement. It's real noticeable when you're right behind them in chase. Before, when turning left or right, the survivor was very easy to track. It's not like that anymore with the dedicated servers. It's almost as if the animation loses some frames and I miss a few easy backrevs a night because of that.

I'm glad Ohtofu and Brother Cope noticed the same thing because I thought it was just me.

I notice this too. Doing 360 is extremly powerful currently against a killer, since he has huge problems tracking you blinking over his screen. as a survivor the servers are a pain, as a killer they are a nightmare

  • No, the problem are the servers. They are the biggest possible nerf to killers. While you where the host you wont desync, but you do now: Hits are going to miss which hadnt missed before. Sometime you need double action on gen regression or pallet break because your animation got cancelled, you grab animation got cancelled etc etc etc. Happened here and there you lost a second or two and another one or three. You didnt notice it always but it happen even when your ping is "great"

And time is your game and you lose this hard thanks to the desync. Why should survivors start to play more swf today or get suddenly better when there is this one obvious change.....

  • Thanks for the answers guys.

Hey, as a fellow player, I recommend playing as other survivors and play as their playstyles and it will give you more content. I'm not sure what happened with your ranking but I believe rank 13 starts to take ranking points if you don't pass a certain quota in the trial. Also, there are a few characters you can buy with Iridescent Shards, which you get for ranking up. I was led to believe they were some-what limited when I first started playing but once you get past level 100 you get Devotion, which let's you prestige and get even more Iridescent Shards. Also, if you want a little more content, you can prestige your characters when they reach level 50 which will give you a cosmetic difference to those who haven't reached that level yet with a character. All in all, it's your choice what you do, but if you get bored with the game, maybe try a different loadout or playstyle, try leveling up different characters, or try mastering the Nurse. There's more content in the game, you just have to dig a little. Oh, also, if you struggle in chases maybe watch a few YouTubers play DbD and try to learn. Hope you can keep finding joy in playing. Heard there's a new update coming at the end of August 2019. Oh, and the fear usually wears off the first few times playing it, so it's nothing you should be worried about.

heard first time of Devotion, i am currently level 49(account). Good if the shard gain will speeded at some time because it is to slow. Have 10k now, 100 hours played.

I read that prestige reset your perks. New cosmetics are cool, but playing killer without perks is just no fun. My claudette is now 50, i think i will go for it there.

About the ranking: at tzhe end of the game comes +1, +2 points or what ever. for example i am rank 12, one point left. i 4k the game and got 2 points. in the endgame-statistics i am displayed 11 now.right corner too. I leave the game and are back to 12 with one point left. Happens regulary.

    @Zurcarak said:

to be fair doctor and wraith are the worst and unfun killers in the game, maybe try mastering HillBilly or Nurse, Huntress, those are free and are top tier in terms of fun and "hard" the perks only work if you are at rank 1 vs swf or nurses or spirit that are the best killers in the game if you are vs any other killer perks doesn't matter if you are good i think.

Wraith was a really good starter killer since he got no terror radius but it gets a disadvantage from rank 15 up since survivors just do gens if terrorradius isnt present. But i think i worked out a good tactic and i can still 2k or better most games. With doctor i do even better(he is my first 50). But it is just frustrating when you have so much control, hooking them through all hells. they running around like chicken, do stupid things one after another like unhooking when you just hooked and still got most times 3 or more gens done or even worse make it to the exit gates. it just feels unfair btw you as killer feel completly powerless.

Tried billy and nurse at start but i couldnt handle them. sure i will try them soon, especially nurse for the perks, if i dont get hag with my points to unlock ruin first
