"Since I've started playing DbD I've noticed a common trend where the devs constantly buff the bottom line of killers and nerf the top tier survivors."
It only took one sentence to know this was bait.
-
"A lot of people use it and I don't like it so it's a problem" like how are you gonna say this about Corrupt Intervention, a relatively weak killer perk, when Decisive, Borrowed, Sprint Burst, Unbreakable, Self-Care, and Adrenaline are just as if not more common than Corrupt while also being more powerful? Like come on, dude, killers can't have ######### without survivors complaining for it to be removed/reworked into the ground.

It seems like survivors are getting nerfed "so much" because for a long time they haven't. Instead of balancing and keeping Survivors under control as time passes, Behaviour has instead opted for doing it all in one big wave. When one side has gone so long without being balanced, it can feel like an unprecedented amount of nerfing when they finally do get balanced but it really isn't. Just imagine how Killers feel almost always being nerfed or never getting the buffs they need until now.

Gen rushing is pretty dependent but I would say it's every third or fourth game that it happens and I don't think it depends too much on platform.
As for bullying, it's near constant on PC. Back when I played Xbox it wasn't that bad but I would say out of 10 games, you will get harassed in about 8 of them for something. You will be told to "rope yourself" or just get bullied in some other way almost every single game. It's part of the reason why so many PC killers are quiting.

There's literally no reason for there to not be colorblind settings. All arguments against colorblind settings aid the arguments in favor. Too unfair because non-colorblind people can use it? True, we can use it. But it's better to allow everyone use it and have us all on an even playing field instead of throwing colorblind people in the shitter. Bump this ######### up, lads.

I don't remember ever being called vitriolic slurs by Killers before in post-game chat. Survivors however, goddamn do they go off.

Welcome to Dead by Daylight. Enjoy your stay, buy some cosmetics, buy some DLCs, and then quit. Thats the business model of Behaviour.
See you in the fog!
I know you're joking and being sarcastic, but that's basically exactly what I'm talking about here. ######### like this happens almost 24/7 and the community just brushes it off. If I had a dollar for each time I've been called a racist or gay slur, I'd be able to buy all the DLC and cosmetics.

Balancing a game around new players is never a good idea. Please have a meeting with whoever handles game balance and show them the wonders that is trickle-down balance, the objectively best way to balance any game. Uncle Dane, a TF2 Youtuber, explains it in this video really well and in a way that applies to most if not all video games.

I dont know if its because im ancient and I know where the term free to play comes from , or its just people cant seem to understand the actual words they are speaking ...
There are two types of online games , subscription based , and free to play . These are not terms referring to the cost of the program . You dont go buy the newest expansion of WoW and say im subscribing it , no your buying it . So why is it so hard for people to understand that if you are not paying a monthly fee to play a online game with a real support system that that is free to play . I mean look at the words themselves for crist sake , Free = no cost , to , play , not free to buy or purchase .
Try to understand things from a developers side , all the things you want cost money for them to do , balances , nerfs , rebalancing this or that , dedicated servers , new content . those things takes 100's and 1000's of labor hours a day , A DAY . Those hours cost money , thus games are in one of two classes , subscription or free to play .
Now think about this , would you rather have free content with dcl's or expansions still costing you to buy like every other game on the market , and pay a $15 subscription price per month , or would you rather deal with being able to sit back get some things for free but not all and deal with micro transactions . There is also the third option and that seems to be what a lot of people on this forum have been acting like and that is they want everything free and the company to go bankrupt in the next few months .
This will be my last post on this matter as I feel like im trying to lead 100's of dodo's away from extinction and we Hopefully all know how that turned out ...
Holy ######### there is actually so much wrong with with this entire post, I'm gonna need to break it down into parts. First, there are many pricing models in gaming and the three most popular are purchased, free-to-play, and subscription-based. An example of a purchased game is Dead by Daylight, a F2P game being Team Fortress 2, and a subscription game being RuneScape. A game is not F2P just because you are not paying a monthly fee. If I pay $20 at the gate to own the game in my library, absolutely in no way is that game free to play. I paid for the software. It is literally impossible for a game that requires you to buy it to be free to play.
As for "looking at things from a developer side" yeah I agree with you. It is difficult to run a game and sometimes as a developer you need extra ways of bringing in money. Isn't that why we started to get paid DLC content at $7 a pop? In exchange for supporting the game further we gave them money via DLCs they released. Then Behaviour decided to inject this game with microtransactions, giving those that ponied up the money for skins all the customization in the world. Meanwhile us losers who can't afford to buy new skins are stuck with #########-all because they refuse to give us anything beyond a few ######### recolors and Prestige clothing. That's it. Why is it that a game that costs $20 at the door then shoves DLCs down our throats also allowed to peddle micro transactions to us all the time? If the purpose is to bring in more money for Behaviour; isn't that the reason they made DLC? Why, it couldn't be that Behaviour has slowly become money hungry, could it? Remember when customizing your character in a game was free if the game had it?
Next, you think the act of Behaviour having to balance the game justifies insane in-game monetization. Balancing takes a few employee hours at best with most of the work coming from the community testing and vocalizing what's wrong then Behaviour putting in the shallowest piss puddle of effort to "balance" the game. That's why PTB exists. We test for them for free. As for dedicated servers: We have been paying for most DLCs since December 2016 and only in the last few months has Behaviour even put effort into dedicated servers. We all know that the reason for the insane amount of DLC, skins, microtransactions, and now the Rift is all for greed. Not growth. To say otherwise is pure, willing ignorance. If they wanted to use DLC and microtransactions to actually grow the game for players, we would have seen dedicated servers launched by the end of last year or at least during the second half of this year.
Now for your question about how people want the game to be monetized, let me just answer it for you real quick. We paid twenty ######### dollars for this game on PC; thirty on console. We are constantly having DLCs pushed on us. We are constantly having microtransactions pushed on us. We are now going to have a battle pass pushed on us and pressuring us to buy it each season and spend money to advance levels. Dead by Daylight, a game that you have to pay $20 for, is using three free-to-play methods of monetizing the game, despite being a game you have to purchase. Stop acting like this is okay. Just because we're "getting some content for free" doesn't make it okay. We paid $20. That content locked behind a paywall in the Rift should be ours. We paid money for this game up front and are constantly hitting paywalls to buy new DLC, not even mentioning skins. Stop enabling Behaviour to do this. Giving any developer a pass on putting free-to-play monetization into a paid game is actively hurting the video game industry. We should not have free-to-play monetization methods in a game you have to pay money for. If Dead by Daylight was free-to-play then it would be 100% fine, but guess what, it isn't. Imagine if instead of Behaviour putting most of the skins behind a paywall they just gave that ######### to us as rewards for playing their game. That's how it would have been done less than 10 years ago. Since you're an ancient gamer according to yourself you should remember this. Remember customizing characters in Tony Hawk? Remember how that just came with the game? We didn't have to pay ######### for that on top of already buying the game. Battleblock Theater. Payday 2. No Time To Explain. Quake Live. Borderlands 2. These games all gave you ways to customize your character without dropping $10 on a single skin. It was just there. You bought the game, launched it up, and were either immediately presented with it or unlocked it for free.
TL;DR: Enabling Behaviour's use of greedy monetization acts taken from free-to-play games used in a purchased retail game that costs money to play is ######### gamers over.

Will I get my money back since half the thing I paid for will be unusable?
