Try going against insta-saw Billy with an ebony on the new dead zone maps. I doubt you could win.

It's possible but not against a 4 man swf who is organized

Nice bait calling this bait :)

or you must be bad at playing killer

Certain killers have too much capability of being too efficient. Especially high mobility. Solo play isn’t playable. Hell if you don’t have 3 other coordinated teammates it’s unplayable. I think the loops can be ridiculous but that only accounts for what.... a small portion of the map? The other 90% of the map is killer sided? I spawn in sometimes and see a pallet every 20-30 steps or so. Maps are shrinking and loops are getting taken away. Yeah I’d rather not play anymore. Killers that don’t need buffs get buffs.

I play rank 1 killer and survivor most loops are no where near killer sided and high mobility killer are playable against in solo play ik cause I play both sides at the highest level the game is heavily biased to survivor

Why do survivors keep getting nerfed and killers are saying things like "try play against red ranks" i may only be a rank 9 killer but i've played against full lobby of red rank survivors countless times, most of the times sfw, and i never get less then a 2k, usually a 3k with the 4th person getting hatch, like seriously hitboxes are broke af and people get hit across the map and you're removing good loops ? i don't get what the devs are doing, stop saying this new update will "balance the game" because in reality killers are too OP as it is especially with specific builds. what killers are OP ? I'll tell you, doctor, freddy, myers (with infinite tier 3 or insta mori) and specific builds they can be even better, even deathslinger is up for debate because of hitboxes. :D i can hear the killer mains typing already

Try going against an organized actually good at the game swf it's hard I'm a rank 1 killer and I've gone against a four man swf that were organized it's impossible to win, even as spirit or nurse I doubt you could win.

  • Rank 1 usually sometimes rank 2 I main ghostface, Huntress, Wraith and spirit

Yeah, I agree. I also know that some people say they lost because Ruin was gone early which is like... Meh. When they get Gens done fast, the Killer is not putting enough pressure (which is not possible sometimes, but thats a map problem and has nothing to do with Ruin.)

I guess thats more of an Plague Issue. I faced a Plague yesterday with Ruin, Thana, PGTW and Corrupt and I was about to vomit (no pun intended), because 4 Slowdown Perks is just lame and boring.

I can say ruin being gone early or instantly on a small map doesn't effect me that much but on a bigger map it's worse

Rotten fields is absolutely crazy. Even Nurse doesn't stand a chance on that map, because cornblindness. Whenever I get that map as survivor, I just lean back and am like "Well GG WP, everyone".

Playing that map as survivor I'm exactly the same I know most of will likely escape so there's no worry, I've won only a few times and they were either potatoes or I was playing spirit(post-nerfed) all times I needed ruin or else gen rush

Fellow red rank killer here, so naturally I know the struggle.

Yes playing low mobility killers on red forest or rotten fields, feels bad, ruin makes it easier

Thats not how it works when you play low or mid-tier killers. You have no mobility, so it takes ages to get to generators. You have no chase power, so even if you scare them off, you don't get anything from it, because you can only chase one person at a time.

You are the first person to understand this I swear

  • @megdonalds said:

If the survivors have toolboxes and keys then Ruin is useless anyway.

No it's not cause you even with a toolbox ruin still slows people down and keys don't work till there is only 2 or 1 gen

You are playing an anti stealth killer, you can apply a ton of pressure with Doctor. I'm not saying you're bad, just showing the options. That said, the Doctor rework might make the anti stealth a bit harder since they are changing the way his passive works. On a large map, it might be hard to get around, but if you shock everyone enough you should know roughly where they are and what they might be doing.

I'm not talking about doctor I like the doctor change I don't like the ruin nerf i was never talking just about the doctor there is other low mobility killers I don't main doctor

You would have had the same result with Ruin. Sounds like you just don't know how to apply pressure against them. This is the problem with crutch perks like Ruin, people tend to start depending on it and acquire bad habits, like not applying any pressure on gens or survivors and just tunneling one person while 4 gens pop.

Applying pressure gets harder when your low mobility and on a large map with ruin they either waste time finding it or or it just slows them down.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

You would have had the same result with Ruin, if they are really good Survivors. The best Survivors dont really care for Ruin anyway, sometimes I feel they even let it lit to have some form of challenge.

You have a better chance with ruin and yeah a good team will likely do gens fast but sometimes it can really help slow down gens and buy time

  • @EleaticStranger said:

To be fair to the devs and to the game, maybe we should wait until data is available to make any firm judgments about the Ruin change.

A DbD streamer I watch often - he is well known, very smart, and an excellent player - did a review of the announcement and was convinced that the Ruin change would be such a detrimental blow to the game that the survival of the game itself would be at risk. Then I watched this same streamer and others play the PTB. All of them performed about as well as they usually do. It's just not possible to make definitive statements yet.

Not to mention that a final verdict should come after people have had the chance to experiment with new builds. Right now the obvious ideas are the ones being debated and tested, but the dynamics of the game are complicated enough that new possibilities haven't even been imagined yet.

There were several good reasons to change Ruin. There are also potential drawbacks. Let's try it out and see how it goes.

    I can agree to that

  • @BadMrFrosty said:

Got your legs chopped off? Adapt and win that marathon, idiot. What do you mean you needed those legs to run? Nah. You're just bad. : )

You say that to me but you don't say that to the survivors that say it's "frustrating" to go up against ruin and doctor and losing ruin is not bad on some maps but on red forest losing ruin is like losing your arms while you have no legs

  • @JOBreazy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/982002#Comment_982002

Yea but there are just some games you wont win, the game requires skill and if all 4 survivors are really good then its going to be hell for the killer.

the same thing can be said with a really good killer and decent survivors or bad, they just get smacked around and bullied bc of them not being looping gods or having good map awareness.

you cant balance this game based off the top 10% who are amazing at it, if you do that then only that 10% would play and it would not be good for both sides and this game in general

But taking away tools to help killers win against the better survivors isn't what should be happening they need to seperate them I had a full rank 2 team go against me as ghostface with ruin on badham and they got three gens done but they couldn't do really well on skill checks I saw them failing them and bad survivors should be given the chance to get better by learning against bad killers, I'm not saying you will win every game I'm saying you should at least have a chance even with ruin I have lost but !let of the time it's because it was destroyed fast and that happens I dealt with it survivors should deal with the skill checks and or finding the totem

Im not saying ruin was weak or that the change is right. My post was about the people crying about it and having nothing good to bring to the community.

ruin isnt the only perk to slow the game down and it shouldnt be the best one to do it. For all we know the next killer could have the next meta perk for killers

so many people are jumping the gun and see how things go with the new change

I know there is other slowdown perks I like running pop but with the new ruin change I can use pop and ruin in the same combination I have tried corrupt but it doesn't work well on big maps with killers like ghostface who don't have huge Mobility

  • @JOBreazy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/981931#Comment_981931

No thats up to the killers pressure, how does ruin slow gen speeds when they can just hit the skill checks and find the totem in under 2 mins?

Pressure gets really hard to do when your a low mobility killer on a bigger map you have to consider this

  • @JOBreazy said:

No thats up to the killers pressure, how does ruin slow gen speeds when they can just hit the skill checks and find the totem in under 2 mins?

Ye or it lasts a decent amount of time they don't hit the skill checks either of those buys time for the killer especially on bigger maps

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/981776#Comment_981776

Ds is meant to help survivors against tunneling toxic killers and it does its job, not to mention it can easily be countered.

as for BT i think that it could use a cooldown or something bc it can be annoying as killer when survivors go for an immediate save

Ruin is to help against gen rushing

  • @JOBreazy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/981761#Comment_981761

Wrong about good teams, ruin is non existent against good teams, they can just hit there skill checks so the change doesnt really effect anything against good players, the change only helps the survivors who arent that good and need that help.

its not hard to 4k a team of potatoes

Good teams can mess up and when they do they will want ruin gone when they will look for it wasting time which is very helpful not all good teams can hit ruin skill checks

  • @JOBreazy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/981597#Comment_981597

Exactly my point, everyone just wants to jump the gun and throw so much hate to the devs rather than testing it out, hex perks have never been reliable and to depend on that perk just means there limiting themselves to becoming a better player at the game.

and im the same as you when i play survivor and killer, ruin never really effected me that much and the totem would just get cleansed in the first 1-3 mins of the game. So again i dont know why people make such a big deal about the biggest crutch perk on killers side

Ruin helps keep gen pressure when you get a good team or big map or your a low mobility killer

  • @JOBreazy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/981642#Comment_981642

Adapt to what? A perk that literally had no change since it came out? What exactly is there to adapt to if it was never changed?

The survivors need to adapt to doing skillchecks or finding the totem it's simple

  • @JOBreazy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/981560#Comment_981560

Im aware of that and im not defending the change, my point was all the people who are complaining and saying they are quitting dbd bc of it.

to me its just stupid to even say that bc knowone is quitting the game bc of that and its annoying to see people cry about it rather than try to come up with solutions to make the devs here

I where your coming at but the devs have been hacking at killers for awhile, while survivors have minimal changes.

  • I just think they shouldn't address it by changing ruin to a perk where you have to focus on gens while it ignores that you get one survivor off the other three will just get on another one and if you don't want that to happen you'll have to camp all the gens and doing so on a big map with a low mobility killer is hard the game isn't a 1v1 it's 4 survivors vs 1 killer, the killer has to juggle between those 4 survivors.
