  • Welcome to Dead by Daylight!

Actually, I thought the toxic scum kicked in at Rank 16 or so, but I'm sure many SWF groups intentionally derank so they can pick on new players like you.

  • I would assume they're INTENDED to be equally viable, yes.

Obviously, they're not even close, but...hey, Freddy rework. At least they're addressing anything. Though I blame the base gameplay mechanics over any individual Killer's limitations.

  • The devs say their goal is for Killers to get 2 kills a game on average. That seems to artificially limit them, though, so I'd recommend aiming for 2-3.

BP is how you rank, but BP per game caps at 8k per category, so you're punished for playing a good Trapper, or anyone else prone to maxing a category. I heard Doctor is great for farming, but he's staying in the trash tiers with caps so low.

With conditions like that, you basically have to evaluate viability by kill potential, and then we're trapped in the realm of Nurse, Billy, and Spirit. They're the only Killers who can circumvent the standard movement limitations, although we'll see if Freddy joins them.

  • Huntress snipes and galaxy brain Traps feel amazing. Once you get into toxic games, though, the only joy that can really be felt is winning against angry people, and that makes me sad.

  • If they were cool, I open the gate for them once it's powered. At least, I did for an Ash once.

Did you know you get BP for opening the gate yourself?

  • They should at least scale to the Killer. Trapper would walk like that. Huntress wouldn't.

  • You're telling me Jake isn't gay? Back in my day, we called every one of those Sabotage lifers gay on sight.

  • Killers are just too limited to pose a real threat, is the issue. SWF to voice chat, and you will never be in danger because you will always know where Killers other than Spirit or Nurse are.

Although I was never an advocate of the Terror Radius, since a big part of being scared is not knowing where it is or when it's coming, and a giant directional alarm and red spotlight almost make voice chatting superfluous.

Too late to go back on that design, obviously, but Killers having options that could let them actually surprise Survivors would definitely spice things up. At least, in the games where gens aren't all rushed within 2 minutes.

  • Almost every asymmetrical horror game is better than Dead by Daylight. They're just less successful because DbD launched first. It's the Facebook of asym horror.

F13 is debatable, but it does have several features DbD should have, White Noise 2 is vastly superior to either, but was undermarketed to death, and Soul at Stake is a knockoff of DbD with better mechanics.

So it's completely POSSIBLE for DbD to be better. That's why people are complaining. This is, apparently, the only asym we're allowed to have, so we want it to be as good as we know it could be.
