To play games on a PC, you need a graphics card. Do you understand that? The "GeForce Experience Filter" is part of the functionality of that graphics card. It is not a cheat tool. However, some people are being denied access to this functionality. The "GeForce Experience Filter" is no different from using the small buttons on a monitor to adjust settings for each game. It doesn’t make the sound louder, nor does it drop anything; it simply makes the visuals easier on the eyes.
Replacing some perk or character icons is an action that involves altering the game client’s data, which can be considered more malicious as it modifies the game. However, when it comes to replacing these icons, many people opposed it, saying, "Don’t take away our enjoyment." This is the same.

On one hand i understand why this is frustrating, but on the other hand the filters definitely gave an unfair advantage to people on PC
No, BHVR has not banned the use of this filter. This issue is only affecting some PC users, and there are still many users who continue to enjoy the "unfair advantage" you mention. Also, this thread is not about debating the pros and cons of the filter; it is purely to investigate how many people are experiencing this issue.
-
What?
How many weeks have passed since the PTB? If you knew that EAC was the issue, couldn't you have consulted with EAC during that time? -
I have been facing this issue for quite some time as well. Thinking it might be caused by the graphics card, I switched from a 3070 to a 4070 and even tried different hardware (I have a desktop with Ryzen + GeForce 4070 and a gaming laptop with Core i9 + 3070 Laptop), but the same issue persists.
If I restart the OS and start the game immediately, it works fine, but I notice that the desktop recording turns off after some time.
-
Hey BHVR, why did you ignore this issue even though it was posted in the PTB?
The following was posted in the PTB 8.2.0 thread.
I am currently experiencing this issue as well. In the live version 8.1.1, the GeForce filter works correctly. My GeForce product is the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 12G VENTUS 2X OC, and I am using the latest driver version released on August 6th. In the PTB, only the game filter is not applied, and it displays the message, "A supported game is required to use this feature."

This is a very random thought but I wonder if Japan D/Cs against Merchant like the west does or if they actually figured her out.
In Japan (Asia servers), it's not that common to see people giving up or trolling the moment they realize it's the Skull Merchant. However, it's not entirely nonexistent. Rather than giving up specifically because it's the Skull Merchant, there are more people who get upset and give up if they get hooked early in the match, regardless of the killer.
-
Of course, I expected it to be nerfed. But this change is the fastest ever. Even XENO had two weeks. That’s why I can’t accept a decision made in just two days. Shouldn’t you do the PTB twice?
-
I can't believe that it takes so long to adjust survivors, but killer abilities are adjusted immediately, even while survivors are still getting used to them. In that case, please nerf toolboxes for sabotage since they're hard to deal with too🙄
-
I believe that if the SWF status is displayed on the lobby screen, the match will never start. Currently, it’s somewhat possible to predict if players are in an SWF group (for example, if they are friends on Steam or have matching player names). Therefore, I would prefer to have the SWF status displayed at the end of the match.

There was an official response on Japanese X:
I'm using Google Translate for English. The original Japanese text is as follows:
Can this announcement be found somewhere on this forum? It seems that not only the Mage Hand but other aspects will also be adjusted. Isn't it too fast to nerf since the release? Please at least wait for about three weeks to observe the situation. It's ridiculous to have paid money for this.
-
It's great that we can choose the trailer movie when starting up!
Since we have this feature, I would also love to be able to change the background in the lobby. While it's fine to keep it as is during events, it would be a dream to choose from various backgrounds that change with each chapter, in addition to the default forest background. I would love to see the Silent Hill chapter background or the neon street from the Trickster chapter again. -
I often hear the opinion that 'this is a party game,' yet it's strange that survivors demand clean gameplay from killers. I don't think there is such a thing as dirty or clean for killers because they are killers. It pains me to see Skull Merchant being constantly bashed with unwarranted criticism.
-
In solo play, you are teamed up with different people every time. What skills do they have? How will they move? What kind of match will it be? And when you can successfully coordinate with someone you can't communicate with—it’s very exciting and satisfying. That’s why I enjoy playing solo queue.
Additionally, I play a lot of Killer, so I understand the advantage of SWF. Even without voice chat, you can learn your teammates' habits, which gives you an advantage. That's why I prefer solo queue.
-
I don't want to play matches with people who have red text ban records displayed on their Steam profile.
-
These statistics reflect that the limitation of regression events to eight has made killers need to be more careful not to have their kick or regression events blocked. Seeing spikes grow on a generator makes me feel like I'm being told, "You’re playing outside the rules!" which is very unpleasant. Generators in high-traffic areas are more likely to be blocked.
It's clear that the reduction of kick-based perks other than Eruption and Pop Goes the Weasel is related to this system. I believe this system is too excessive. At the very least, it should only activate when there are 4-5 generators left (from the survivors' perspective, 2-3 generators left).

The teabagging doesn't need to even enter the convo. They'd do it regardless.
This is how I see it. As long as there are people teabagging at the hatch after winning, I don't think killers will stop tunneling and slugging for the 4K. -True

I don't think killers will stop tunneling and slugging for the 4K. -True
Its stated again and again that they do it to 'win' as they can't any other way, apparently. And that is a very sufficient reason. We need to come up with better solutions since BHVR simply won't.
Annnnd…
That's right. In the end, it's all an ouroboros.
Survivors want to feel good by overwhelming the killer and escaping.
Killers want to achieve an overwhelming victory by killing everyone.
To achieve this, survivors execute GenRush,
and killers resort to tunneling and slugging.
But both of these strategies are within the rules of the game. That's why the debate will continue forever.. -
I never quite understand why tunneling is so disliked. If you encounter four monsters that heal each other, and you're trying to beat them, attacking them equally one by one will never lead to victory. As long as there are people teabagging at the hatch after winning, I don't think killers will stop tunneling and slugging for the 4K.
-
I'm sorry, my post was duplicated.
-
As a Japanese person, let me provide some additional context.
The tier list in the original post reflects the perspective of players from a company that operates a game strategy website in Japan. They believe that by using the strongest combination of addons from each killer, it's easier to aim for a 4K. This is why Michael is ranked highly, as his addons like Tombstone make it easier to aim for an instant kill, quickly eliminating one survivor from the game and gaining an advantageous position.
On the same website, there is also a tier list created collaboratively by users who use the site.
This list might be closer to the tier list of killers on the Asia server. However, when looking at tier lists from various Japanese streamers, the consensus is generally Nurse > blight > Spirit, but opinions differ below that.
In the Asia server, players focus on how survivors can cooperate to complete generators and escape, as well as whether the killer can protect generators and secure a 4K within that time frame. There are fewer complaints about tunneling and camping compared to the EU and NA servers. Additionally, while there are some instances of sabotage and flashlight saves in SWF, survival takes priority, so perks like Self-Care and Botany Knowledge are meta.
If you're interested in the Asian environment, try coming in with a VPN. There are fewer people giving up or disconnecting, so solo queue might be more comfortable to play in compared to the EU and NA servers.

The problem of scratches being scattered and becoming more difficult to see has not been resolved.
-
When will this issue be fixed? In version 7.7.0, Scratch is still widely scattered.
-
I don't agree with the content, but I do agree that there isn't enough benefit for the rarity level.
Restoring the medkit's capacity to its original state and maintaining the current version only for the time it takes for self-healing seems desirable. I feel there's no need for a decrease in efficiency during self-healing.
-
I apologize for the frequent errors in Japanese as well! Sometimes the content remains outdated, or it's written in a way that contradicts the actual effects. I imagine localization must be quite challenging😭
-
I apologize for bringing up something unrelated to map generation, but personally, I find the heads of the Jizo statues in the map objects to be excessively large. The Jizo statues I see in Japan typically have smaller heads. Many of them have proportions similar to the image here.
-
I apologize for bringing up something unrelated to map generation...
Also, the intricate details of the map feel a bit like 'fake Japan' to Japanese people. Especially inside the main building... It's too old-fashioned to believe Rin would live in such a place in modern times. It might be a good idea to have staff from the Japanese-speaking community confirm this. If the design intentionally makes it difficult for overseas players to recognize it as Japan, then I apologize.
-
VCPT refers to 'Survive With Friends (SWF) play using voice chat,' specifically in the Japanese-speaking community. In this case, it refers to games where all players are entirely in solo queue.
-
I love her🥺
-
I love her as a unique Killer character.I feel deeply hurt every time I see such posts. It's very sad😔

This system is having far too much impact on regular Killer gameplay. Perk effects like those of Kick perks (Eruption, POP) or perks triggered by kicking generators have a significant impact from the start of the match. Key generators, crucial for traffic-heavy matches, quickly reach their limit, making the game less enjoyable.
With this system, kick perks are relatively nerfed, their pick rates drop significantly, and the overall gameplay variety decreases.
As @Smoe mentioned, it should only trigger after reaching the state of 'only 3 generators.'

Does Grim Embrace's initial hook refer to the first hook until the third Survivor, or does it only take effect on the first hook for the first Survivor?

Lucky you. I'm living in Japan and the meta here is tombstone Myers at least 5 times a day. You wanted bloodpoints, pips, or anything resembling an interactive match? Not here.
Is that true!? I also live in Japan, but I rarely encounter Tombstone Myers. Could it be in a different MMR bracket? In my case, I often encounter Nurse, Wesker, Blight and Wraith.
On a different note, I am against the implementation of a Killer repeat feature. The waiting time for Survivors at night is already long, so I would prefer the matchmaking time to be prioritized over playing with the same Killer.
-
I also get motion sickness in FOV perspective. (Although I've somewhat adapted now, I still feel queasy after prolonged concentration in games like Minecraft.) However, when I wanted to play this game because I wanted to play as the Killer, Chucky wasn't there yet, so I tried various things to see how I could play. Here are some things that had an effect. It might be good to combine several.
- Take motion sickness medicine.
- Play in a smaller window size rather than fullscreen. Display something stationary around the game screen, like the desktop, to play.
- Stretch between matches. (Nausea can also come from shoulder stiffness.)
Personally, combining 1 and 2 worked the best for me. Now I can play for hours in fullscreen without any issues. It might be additional advice, but please give it a try👍
-
I apologize for the deviation from the title, but is there any way to enable typing in characters other than the alphabet? In the Asian region, it's challenging to use the chat effectively with the current limitations.
-
Let's use Deja Vu. Once you realize there's a nearby generator, you can prioritize repairing it. If there are four Survivors at the start of the match, it should always be possible to break that pattern. In fact, I always do this in solo queue. I don't understand why you would repair generators other than that specific one and intentionally bring it down to three generators….
-
If voice chat is added, how would individuals who do not share the same language communicate through audio?
Can a server be provided for each language for this purpose?
-
I'm not a fan of the visual effects that appear when a snowball is thrown at me.
Additionally, I have a tendency to get startled more easily than the average person, so when I get jump-scared by a mischievous snowman, it genuinely startles me to the point where my body jumps. This element is truly unpleasant for me, making the game more discomforting than enjoyable every time.
-
I remember that Plague has lobby music. It's slow-paced music. I like it.
-
Today, I just played him, but since there were hardly any lockers near the gens, the teleportation didn't work🤪
-
If BHVR are will Implement this solution, I think you must be careful Hug ,Trapper or Demo things like that.

Bingo. You also can't retroactively put it on when you realize the Killer is trying to 3 gen. Once you're in the match, it's too late, so equipping something as a counter is not possible.
What I mean is that it's natural for perks to have no effect unless equipped, and bringing anti-3-gen perks like Deja Vu is a survivor's choice. Now, even SM has been adjusted to not easily become a 3-gen, and I always bring Deja Vu when playing solo Q. BHVR said "DBD is a game of choices." Why make everything a base kit without differentiation in choices?
-
I mentioned it in my thread as well, but the Japanese DBD official often adds unnecessary comments.
-
If you're on the same server but have different native languages, it's often difficult to communicate, so I don't think voice chat is necessary. Not everyone around the world has a sufficient level of English communication skills for gaming, and that includes myself.
I believe it's much fairer to impose restrictions on SWF than trying to bring soloQ up to the level of SWF.
-
If it's not necessary, can't you just choose not to buy it? When new content is released, if you like it, you can buy it, and if you don't, you can simply not purchase it; it's as simple as that. Even if it's not something you need, there are likely people who want it. If Starbucks introduces a new Frappuccino, and you don't like that menu item, would you go to the store to complain?
-
I want see a stats by region❤
-
Because if you don't secure a 4K, survivors will teabag in front of the Hatch or gates.
-
I think they should create a game mode where tunneling and camping are prohibited, so players who dislike tunneling and camping can play that mode instead. Personally, I don't want to play such a game mode.

Match preview is apparently not possible - it was requested multiple times and it always comes down to DBD making bad choice at the inception of the game - making this feature too hard to implement now. But yes - that would have been awesome for multiple reasons!

Yeah they said they would have had to side a replay system from the start, cannot be added in now.
It would ease their reporting system too, take much of the burden off of the playerbase.
Oh really? It's a n idea that it can't be done.
And I couldn't remember to the map today too.I wish get on Result screen that game's map🥺

@Gandor said:
All of the mentioned plus MMR, hours of each player and every other kind of information that could possibly be gotten. A history of played matches (at least last 10) would be nice - especially if they updated to fill in killer perks/addons/offerings once the game ends.
In endgame screen the match is over. It does not matter for that game any more - so all the other information serves for me to reflect on things (and to correct some biases expectations - like I won because it's soloQ or I lost because it's SWF).
Agreed! I definitely want the lookback function. I often mistakenly click the "Next" button instead of the "Lift" button, and I end up missing the Result screen. If possible, I would also like a match preview from the perspective of each of the five players.

Me too...

It's not a problem because the skins I purchased won't disappear.
Unlike the Stranger Things, this time it's only skins. I bought everything on the first day. I already have the ones I like, and even if the license disappears, I can continue using them. So I don't think it's a problem if the license disappears...
