I dont enjoy using him for the same reasons. first day i started using this reworked freddy, i was 4K'ing most games.A few days later, i took all the perks off, used him again, still had no trouble winning games. not always getting 4k then but still punching above my weight as im not the best killer by all means.

The only way you would win a killer with nothing is if the survivors you were up against are weak. Also the only way to tell if a killer is viable or weak is based on your performance against the very "top 4%" ( those group of survivors that know how to work every loop on every map, have >5000 hours in the game each of them). You can get a 4 k even with clown if you are good and the survivors you are given are randoms with less expirience. To all those saying a killer is "too op", i wish you would have 1 entire day as killer of your own choosing going against 4 man swf with more then 5000 hours each, that know every map every loop, and use communications, and then formulate an opinion

Just had a couple of games that very much ended like this:

Due to match making I (rank 17/16) got a few high ranks (upper purple and red) as Deathslinger. I'm in no way good, but in all these matches I got several hooks in and at least one of the high ranks kicked the bucket.

And each time due to one very odd thing:

Their unwillingness to change their tactics.

Now, we all already knew that's the issue, but today I had the most bizarre experience:

Red ranked Kate, I chase after her (one of the wrecker maps, the one with the small house), she tries to loop me. I'm not having it. I know what I can pull off and what not.

So I turn away. Usually survivors go on their merry way then... but the kate came after me. Very much demanding I chase her.

Again, I wasn't having it. I knocked down a jake, hooked him, and the kate stood there not helping (another jake got him off the hook)

Long story short, I hit her when she came close, shot and hooked her. She suicided on hook after I walked away (dunno if she tried to unhook herself or not).

It really seemed as if she was offended cause I didn't let her loop me.

And judging by the forum and twitter, the playstyle like that kate's is what people deem 'fun'. Why?

Quitting is bannable. From what you say here i can deduce a few things: 1) she probably wanted to depip intentionally, alot of people do that, and with quitting being penalised, the next best thing is for her to quickly die on hook. 2) she probably just wanted out. Not everyone forgets real life the moment they are in a match. The fact that you say that she was just standing there at certain points in the game could just be that the person had something to do in reality.

    I agree 100%

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/198221/remove-dc-penalty

I agree 100% I feel we shouldn’t be forced to play in boring matches. Yes I do understand that sometimes DC’s will ruin games but like you gotta understand the POV of both sides if your just on 1 side all the time you most likely don’t know what your talking about, instead of trashing one side you should try to understand both sides.

If you are to stupid to accept when the killer doesn't let you have it your way, please leave our community. If complain about camping , tunneling, then why dont you also complain about the fact that 4 people use microphones , A THING THAT IS NOT A GAME MECHANIC THEREFOR IT IS BORDERLINE CHEATING, to bully 1 person? Also stop using the word boring to describe matches that don't go your way. It's not called boring, its called "people adopting tactics that you can't win against" or "people being better at the game than you". Killers are there to kill you, they are your opposition! Stop crying like a little ######### when they do what they have to do in order to get their job done, that includes tunneling or camping. Were you gonna put youself on the hook out of the "kindness of your heart" ?

first of all, the DC penalty should not even be in the game if you can’t fix the crashes that force people to quit. There have been a lot of games recently where, upon spawning in as a survivor the game freezes and the audio gets thrown into a loop. Moments later you return to the Xbox dashboard. Once you get back to the character selection screen the ban notice is there because you supposedly left the game. You ABSOLUTELY cannot have a DC penalty in effect until this is fixed. I would have thought that is common sense. What the heck is going on with this game? Where are the devs heads at? Fix the game first don’t worry about a damn DC penalty when your game isn’t even running properly.

*side note: there are also Moments where after using a vault as a survivor your screen will freeze momentarily allowing the killer to simply walk around and get a free hit on you. how is this not making people upset enough to leave the game? And then you get to deal with tunneling and camping after that. That’s so frustrating you have so little to defend yourself with in this game. Generator and hook simulator is what I think about this game. It’s atrocious how bad my experience is playing survivor game after game. Killer is so much more fun. Just my opinion. But fix that vault glitch seriously!

second of all, the DC penalty should not even be in the game unless you can establish a system that works. By this I mean players should be able to reconnect to the game to avoid the penalty which is very similar to how other games are that incorporate a DC penalty which is typically useful for ranked play. However, a smaller penalty will be administered once rejoining that will allow you to play once certain conditions are met or depending on what you were doing when you left the game.

This the worse and most hilarious survivor main complaint i have ever seen. Just say that you get angry when the killer rekts you with mori or that you are a little ######### who would quit the match when it doesnt let you have it your way. DC penalty is one of the best features they've added to keep punks like you from ruining it. Crashes are so infrequent , its such a pathetic excuse. DON'T LISTEN TO THIS SWF MAIN TOXIC

  • Personally I love Cross-Play. i get to meet new people and i have fun reguardless of their skill level. and even reguardless if i die. as killer it can be stressful but thats part of the game with or without cross-play. the integration of crossplay makes this community come together EVEN more, i dont see any reason to turn it off so far.

I'll start by saying I don't necessarily think this will improve or impair the actual quality of matches, so its not a change I'm particularly worried about unless it kills queue times.

That being said, its extremely easy to see why an MMR system cannot ever work for this game: There are too many variables. It is impossible to design a system that accounts for all of the variables that go into the outcome of a match. People have thought of solutions for years and there still are none. You just simply cannot do it.

Here's what I mean, with a line from the update:

"Going forward, we will use a hidden skill rating for matchmaking purposes. Your skill rating will increase when you do well and decrease when you do poorly."

Already this is now flawed. You cannot determine what "doing well" and "doing poorly" in this game is, so the system is based on a premise that is impossible to define to begin with. What killer are you? What addons did you bring? What map did you get? What perks do you have? What perks do the survivors have? Is this map bad for this killer? Did someone kobe? Did you get bad map RNG?

There are an infinite number of variables that result in the outcome of each match, and you cannot account for all of them, or even most of them. You're not a bad player because you got Blood Lodge with Wraith and everyone can see you at all times. You're not a bad survivor if you spawn in a deadzone with a Billy that comes right at you. With an automated MMR system like this, the game will simply draw the conclusion though, without taking anything into account. How do you even determine who is good at survivor? Is an escape good? If so, hide all game, get the hatch. You're now a God. Is altruism good? What if the killer is facecamping and you literally cannot save in any way. Are you now bad at survivor? What if its tied to how long the match goes? Billy slugs for the 4k in 2 minutes and is now a bad player.

What if I run Iridescent Heads 200 games in a row? Am I now a godly Huntress? Is this Huntress being compared to an addonless Clown with the same system?

The thing is, you CAN tell when a player is good. A person can spectate and KNOW "this killer is good, this survivor is good." A SYSTEM cannot ever do that because its impossible to code for every variable that happens. A good survivor might perfectly know the distance of a lunge and run through a pallet, baiting a swing, saving the pallet and wasting the killers time. A system is not going to be reliably able to record situations like that and assign a skill rating to a play.

You can't even determine how good a survivor is based on how long they last in chases. What if someone uses every single pallet on the map. Just straight up camps them. He makes the killer chase him for 3 full minutes. Now no one else has anything, they all go down instantly. Are those other survivors now worse?

Yeah. Its impossible. It cannot ever be done, and its not because the developers are bad or anything. No one can do it.

This is why this game should never be treated competitively, no matter how we feel about it when we play. Its 4 v 1, it is never intended to be a competition to give it so much thought to the point where we forget that its main goal is to simply enjly ourselves. I' m curious to know what is your real life job and if you have ANY sort of real life responsabilities, seeing that you have all this free time at your disposal to debate the state of a videogame . I love dead by daylight as much as all of you, and i spend my free time playing it to the points where , in the past 2 years i accumulated 2100 hours on steam. BUT to actually waste my time and thoughts on theories and hypotheses on a virtual reality, which at the end of the day this game really is, seems utterly pointless, childish , and it gives the feeling that you don't have any real life priorities. I'm sorry i come of as harsh/rude , i am a dead by daylight fan , but not to the point where i become so obsessed that i must analize every aspect of it as if its something essential to my existance. And i apologise if my comment seems unfair . I just don't see the point of analizing a videogame so much. I dunno....i guess thats my 2 cents on things. Maybe when everyone here will get to a certain age, have kids of their own and priorities, they will understand what i meen when i say that "analizing a videogame, reguardless if you love it or not, is a childish thing to do"
