It's reasonable. Look, BHVR has tons of bugs in this game, many things are unbalanced (just weak or useless or incredibly strong), on the other side they want from us to accept something like that? Like really? There is no logical reason for that. Yea, except... uhm... money.
Just a small reminder, you maybe forgot. This game isn't for free. You have to buy it. Also some of the content isn't free either, actually game is in condition where you will either spend money to get perks, killers and survivors or spend hundreds and hundreds of hours getting it with shards. And yes, hundreds, because for getting 9k shards for 1 character you need to play for aprox. 24 hours of clean time. 9k shards = 1 entire day. In shop you can btw find skins with price 14k or 21k :) But playing just with shards would take incredibly long, because you can't buy everything with them and for perks you would have to wait for Shrine.
I get it, devs want money for their game, alright, that's ok. It's their job, I get it. But now you have game full of bugs, unbalanced play systems, glitches, toxic players in chat, cheaters, errors and so on. Do you know for example that you don't have chase status with Knight, when he places his Guard? Noice. Community is annoyed already. And the reaction to that isn't something like "Dear players, we are very sorry for issues in our game. We are trying our best to fix all major bugs. Please, be patient and help us reporting all bugs you encounter on our forum. Thank you and see you in fog." or something else to just calm down us but the reaction is "We will make old cosmetics limited. It makes no sense but whatever. You will play our game anyway."...

They could give us more shard and no rift tiers. I don't know about others but I personally think you can do 3 tiers in day or 2 pretty easily. Anyway fancy rewards.

Pretty certain Mandy said on the forums before that altering icons can end in bans.
Uh, I don't know where my comment disappeared, wanted to add something. Nevermind, let's try again.
I've been searching for this information and all I found from mods and official statements, that game won't ban you for this but EAC can potentially change how it's working and detect icon changing (which very likely won't ever happen).
But if that would happen, it would be either first on PTB or someone would dig it out from data mining before it was released. And if you are still not satisfied, when you have some corrupted or weird files in those folders, EAC will warn you before you turn on the game.
As much as nobody can ever be 100% sure, I am still pretty sure you would know about this kind of change somehow in advance.

I searched for those informations and all I found is that mods are basically saying, it's not something they will ban you for but if EAC will some day change it's function and will detect custom icons, you can be banned.
Which is ofc true but also not very likely to happen. Of course, you are using all 3rd party apps at your own risk however if you have at least some small experience and knowledge around EAC and DBD and how those 3rd party programs are working, you can pretty easily say that the risk is near 0. Because to get banned for something like that, you would need to EAC get changed which would be probably first on PTB and if not, there are still nice amount of people diging out new data, even around EAC. I am not 100% sure but I think it's pretty safe to say that you would know about this change in advance.

Then let me ask, why do they let streamers and fog whisperers to use it as they wish?

I was using Blood Emporium but it's kinda slow, so I stopped (it's literally better to level it up manually than using slow BE). But in this case you can be 100% sure you won't get banned. Risk is only when you are using something that works with in-game files and manipulate with them. Blood Emporium is just basic script with image recognition - it takes your monitor, recognize what do you have in bloodweb and based on math and priorities you entered into it it will just click on icons. That's all. Everything is done by this script, it doesn't operate with in-game files.
EAC won't recgonize it, as much as it doesn't work with in-game files. For EAC it's just regular mouse clicking, that's all.
It's good to be careful but when you know how the program works, you can also define if it's risky or not. For example Dead by Daylight Icon Toolbox is software to change your icons in-game, it gives you no advantage at all, it just change graphic of few things. You won't get banned for this either as much as this isn't some active software running on the background and it doesn't edit anythingbut textures. But regarding this you are in higher risk just because it somehow operates with in-game files. Well, Toolbox is completely safe too, it's just comparison :)

To be honest, I am pretty sure I know why it's like that. You remember that bug with sound being too loud after summoning Guard? It's fixed, because you can't double tap anymore. I would say it's intentional "lazy patch" from devs regarding sound bug. Still, it's just my guess but it makes a lot of sense :)
-
Bump, really annoying bug. You can't hear anything through it, chase music, gens, survivors, nothing and it's really loud. For some people with high volume on default could be dangerous.
-
Can confirm that DBD runs somehow on the background. It happened to me today, when I closed it and went to do a work things but my CPU has been unnaturally loaded. Dozens of % showed in task manager on CPU running something but no DBD, no anti-cheat, no Steam running. Issue has been solved by restarting computer.
Win 10, Steam version with latest update.

I dodge only when I see bully squad in lobby without flashlights, because don't want another 30 min game hostage just because it's fun for them. When I see bully squad with flashlights, they are actually easy to beat, I just take Lightborn and have 2-4 DCs in first 2 minutes. Also 2 or more survivors with prestige more than 70 are kinda red flag. Either strong SWF or just randoms sitting on this game for days without a break. I want to have fun, not to watch entire game how every chase is the same => hit => hug the wall pixel on pixel => 2 gens pop => second hit => flashlight/flashbang/body blocking => another chase => hit => hug the wall pixel on pixel => 2 gens pop... Really boring and frustrating playstyle.

I don’t understand why we need a PTB for this? I can tell everyone right now that I’m very often forced to slug survivors because I literally can’t get them to a hook. Zero of the PTB changes will address this. I can already say with great confidence this will be abusable by survivors.
And I’m already in so many matches where the last two survivors will just hide and refuse to do generators. So I know that when last standing happens, the last survivor will probably just hide the entire time, since they have zero reason to travel to the slugged survivors. Bigger FoV won’t help a killer find someone that’s hiding on the other side of the map.
Agree with you brother.

Which is the whole point of a PTB though, so players can actually play around with it and test it and it can be refined from there.
Nothing is set in stone here, which is why it's not scheduled for the Live build.
Yes but PTB doesn't always help to community. Do you remember, I don't know, some recent updates? Wesker for example? He had huge hitbox on PTB and what BHVR did for live? Nerfed his hitbox much more than needed. For a couple of days (I don't remember, 1-2 weeks?) was this character in horrible state.
Pig - players are telling to BHVR again and again that Pig is nerfed to the ground and BHVR always came with another update and with another direct or indirect nerf on Pig (just an example how BHVR treat with players).
This thread may seem like overreacting. But BHVR doesn't listen to the player base very much, doesn't perceive them.
And as far as these changes are concerned, it is clear just on paper that this is a bad idea. Are you seriously considering releasing it as a PTB? For the sake of all of us, I hope it doesn't make it to the live servers at all.

@Mandy said:
I'm going to remind everyone that this is something that's being tested and something that we're going to be watching for feedback on intently during the PTB.
This is not scheduled to be in the next update on Live, it's something that we're requesting players test and give feedback on.
Yes, we know. But I think it's time to say something against bad decisions. Honestly, you have cheaters epidemy out there but BHVR is making changes for gameplay? Alright. Are the changes good? No, not at all. Devs should turn on the game and play for some hundreds of hours with randoms. Then they will delete those ideas even without threads like that.
With all due respect to the developers and the game, they don't listen to the players very often and this is a pretty critical update that if it gets to the game, it will change a lot of people's minds about the game. According to the "popularity" in a few hours from the players and from the content creators, you can see that these ideas did not meet with understanding.

Really unhappy with these changes. I would have much rather they used the dev time to go after camping and tunneling personally.
Infinite Unbreakable is a massive buff to flashlight and sabo SWFs and will only make playing non-S tier killers feel even worse than it already does against groups of survivors in voice chat.
When I play killer I like having the ability to carry the last person to hatch and also find it pretty satisfying to pick up and hook slugged survivors after a close game. Not to mention moris can get kinda repetitive since each killer only has one. And I think the new mori offering is pretty useless personally. You're basically gambling getting your blood points back which feels bad to take over an add-on.
At least these changes have the benefit of stopping toxic players from slugging all 4 and watching them bleed out I guess, which I think there are better solutions for (let them press a button to toggle bleeding out faster or "give up" after a certain amount of time being down consecutively).
Ye, killers won't slug, instead of it you will meet more and more campers and tunnelers. Because nobody will want to deal with this.
-
For those who are flouting about this and saying "uhm, game will be here forever", ye, game maybe, player base not :)
https://steamcharts.com/app/381210
You want to argue against numbers? And those are numbers even before that update. How many players will be there after it? Half of it? More? Less? Even now has game half/less of the active players than had year ago or 2 years ago or 3 years ago or 4 years ago in same month.
But ye, game is in perfect state, nothing happens, everything is fine. Numbers are just coincidence, right? :) Not even talking about those cheaters BHVR is ignoring.

Same. This is pure bs. It doesn't even help to survivors. It will make killers even more aggresive and camping. This update is without any exaggeration killswitch for the game.

There is still plenty of time for them to read the feedback and change it before it goes live.
Ye, I know, that's the reason I wrote this thread. Because this whole update is really bad idea. Nobody will benefit from it. They will delete any fun from this game for survivors and killers. Literally nobody can be happy about it, maybe only toxic SWF who can abuse their powers more.

Buffs? No. Fixes? Yes. Specially AI on zombies, hitbox on M2 and sometimes broken animations. But Nemo is fine if we talk about balancing him. It's fun to play against him and even as him.

It's not rude, I clearly said it's an assumption, that would be understood if you actually read my post. I don't care about being corrected since all I said was it was an assumption. Take it or leave it.
Stop crying. If you read what I wrote, you know that I wrote that your assumption is wrong. Then you went crying and into debate with us about it. You are really sus person. You are even making assumptions to defend cheaters. Bruh... My last comment on you, it's really just waste of time.

Nah, have experience with 4 your comments and you are very sus person. Have no idea why do you defend cheaters, trying to make nonsense assumptions or trying to flout it but alright, will be better to ignore you I guess...

I think the problem is, these streamers that also cheat are also the game's biggest money spenders, so why would the devs even think about banning them? I feel like they would definitely turn a blind eye to cheaters who buy almost every cosmetic the game comes out with. This is just an assumption, not saying it's the real reason.
Are you serious? They pay nothing. They can have whatever cosmetics they want out of the box with cheating engine. They just pay for this cheating engine, everything else is included. Not even talking about some cheating services where you actually get small refund if you get banned and they give you new account where you can continue. So, yea, that's really bad assumption from you.
-
Sorry, what? So you will rather pretend it's not happening?
It's not issue just for streamers but even for players. In high and mid-range MMR you can meet a lot of them. People have records, there are recorded incidents on streams. I have 46 separated videos just from last month and I am not even streamer. But it's not worth reporting every one of them, because it's literally waste of time. Can't sit entire day on their support and report everybody who is cheating, that's their job to implement some working anti-cheat, we paid for the game.
If you don't value your time or money, please, that's your decision. But please don't speak for the majority of the community when you obviously have no idea what's going on in the game, thanks.

Just because we're angry and over it doesn't mean they're gonna do something about it, cheating has been complained about since this game released. Streamers cheat often and are they ever banned? No. Nothing will be done about it.
As I said, fine, then a lot of players will leave this game. It will be sad and I am not gonna probably find game like this soon but still more worthy than watching and experiencing this again and again.

You literally have DbD's largest content creators and streamers being held hostage in front of thousands/millions of people.
They need a better anti-cheat and more protection for content creators against stream-sniping, etc. What they are have ingame is borderline useless and only causes more issues for everyone else (e.g. anonymous mode being used to hide profiles to make reporting useless, etc.).
Nah, that's not only about content creators. In high elo and mid-range elo are having some of us 1/4-1/2 games with cheaters. That's just pure fact. It was nightmare at the start of the summer, then it calmed down and now you can again see them everywhere. It's annoying.

@My_Aespa said:
A lot of posts have already been made about cheating, we know about this issue already. Unless there's hard video evidence, there's nothing they can do.
Fine, then a lot of people will stop playing this game. Sorry but it's not even funny anymore. To get another killer into game or getting subtle cheaters. It's BHVR job to maintain their game, not our job to spend half of the day just recording, writing, uploading, etc... every cheater. It's not even possible anymore. It's frustrating... Players are angry, I am too already.
