It's hard to enforce "Tombs being blocked" truthfully, because there's many ways to make a tomb inaccessible while its not exactly blocked off.

And tombs, themselves are actually already supposed to be used as traps. So it's very anti-purpose to have a fake trap amongst the things that are supposed to pull the player's attention

I only go for tombs knowing that they give reward for my trouble. If I have to start dealing with fake tombs just for an extra 25 yellow synthetite I'd rather just skip them and grind GenMat.

Edit ; Dont forget that we shoot traps with guns, this would mostly punish melee users while your run-off the mill gun runner would change their play style to simply shoot 1 cube away from tombs

These are some very fair points!

  • Thank you! I hope it adds value to be active here in the forum. I haven't seen any posts/comments from the devs or community managers here so it feels a little bit like talking to myself but I think it is a neat idea. :)

  • A companion app would be absolutely perfect for Meet Your Maker. Getting notifications and stats would be amazing - maybe someday?

As much as I personally love MYM, I think we are at the veeeeeeeeery beginning of the game with so much potential and designspace to explore. IF MYM is successful enough in the long run.

  • MYM is a social game. You are free to block tombs but why should you be so petty and deny resources if you can already live out your inner satan to the fullest extend inside your Outpost?

    Edit:

Instead of blocking why not simply build traps around your tomb and get some extra kills?

From personal experiences, there are some "Smart traps" that don't deserve to be played more than once.

Usually i leave after 6 death if I find the traps to be abusing a specific issue with the game. ( Looking at you infinite flamethrower trap behind opaque second wind lava blocks, underneath a complex wall-glitch wedge structure. )

    Wow that sounds really whack.

  • I see the point of beating your own level before publishing. But I would go so far and say that it would tremendously diminish the amount of big, complex and super difficult levels published.

We know how time consuming designing and building a level is and then asking the architects to sucessfully raid their own contraptions could be too much.

MYM is living or dying from the content that others create and it needs a constant flow at that.

Also, I've almost never raided an Outpost that was strictly unbeatable in my 20+ hours of game time. The game offers you all the different options to beat and outlast these traps. To this point I still do not see the issue.

  • I'd be in favor of improving the holocubes. If you got at least a couple hours of painful experience you recognize holocubes from afar and that takes a little bit away from the suprise.

Reskinnable holocubes should be an expensive mod though both in research as well as cost in build mode to prevent spamming of it.

  • I do not count my raids but since the easter break is over I try to squeeze in a quick session with a couple raids in between free time. :)
