I don't want to have to compromise my experiences in gaming because others don't want to invest in their free time.
I have a desktop but I'm away from home for a prolonged period of time. Aside from potential solutions to my personal situation, do you have any reasons why it's not a good idea for the developer to try to optimize the game better for lower end machines?

I agree with this. At the same time though, I listed a bunch of games that have comparable graphical quality but have no issues with heat. Why is Dead by Daylight the only one that has the problem?
