uhm. None of the things say they are not on a gen. In two cases they are VERY likely on a gen actually. And even when hiding in a locker they probably have a gen nearby.
Yeah. I see both sides of this issue, honestly. If I start to suspect that a killer is running BBQ, I jump into a locker if there's one nearby when they pick up a downed survivor and wait out the timer.
On the other hand, we are supposed to be survivors. Not deliver ourselves into the killer's hands. So if a killer is running BBQ, and hooks someone and then sees zero auras...I don't necessarily blame them for sticking around, at least for a little while. Maybe making a circling patrol of the immediate area before leaving. I've seen fellow survivors do some REALLY stupid stuff, like rushing to get unhooks the very moment the killer turns their back without running BT, so...yeah. I don't hate killers who stay in the area for a bit, just to see.

Do I need to list all the reasons why? <3

no, you are paraphrashing and all of those quotes are still my opinion. So I've moved no goal post only further clarified my position. Also if i were to get other peoples opinions or "pushback" I dont change my opinon to strengthen my stance. Unlike a lot of swf defenders on here. If I were presented with something I overlooked or new info I would revaluate my position. Thats called a growing from a productive discussion. There has been nothing said that has changed my position yet but there have been things said that made me think about things in a different light. Once again you are just putting words in my mouth. This is the issue with this community its all my side vs your side theres no productive talk on here just a bunch of people trying to defend their tribe. Not specifically talking about you but there are a lot of people that are just trying to push things and not try to have productive conversations.
I never said that it was cheating i said i felt cheated. Theres a difference there. I do not care if you or the devs consider coms cheating. It is a massive advantage for those swfs, and if the game is ever going to see some sort of balance it should be addressed. At least in some way, but thats nopt what this post is about.
All I want is a test. I don't see the big deal in that. I can see how it could be abused to maybe smurf, so how would you prevent that?
I already told you. Don't punish killers who dodge lobbies by lowering their MMR. Punish them by locking them out of matchmaking for a time similar to how someone quits/disconnects in the middle of a match.

I use it xD

In my coments on here if you actually read them. I have also stated that i would only dodge if ive been facing consistent sweaty swfs. Whats with the attack on my character here? over seeing whos in swf? hmm You are trying to put words in my mouth.
I've already explained to someone else that the wait times for sweaty high mmr swfs will be different then casual swfs because their mmr will be lower.
Also I have to ask whats more fair? Trying to take into account n unbalanced feature of the game that is obviously being abused by these teams or waiting an extra 5 min? I would argue that if you are willing to give yourself an advantage over other players then you can wait longer. That is more fair, but i still dont think that the wait times would be that bad nor would i want them to be.
Like I said there is nothing wrong with testing this. They've already tested mmr for a year.
I did read your comments. I literally quoted you. And it looks more to me like you revised your stance a bit after getting some pushback. In other words, you moved the goalposts from 'I want to see SWF groups so I can avoid them' to 'I just want to see them so I can sometimes maybe avoid them' to 'I just want to see them so I can know if I lost fairly or not.' None of those are direct quotes - just summations of your shifting positions.
You still use language like "cheated" to describe losing to a SWF team. How is using a built-in game mechanic cheating? And no, don't bring up comms. I can say with utmost confidence that the developers knew people in groups would be using comms when they made this game. Voice comms is not a new, revolutionary thing that came about after the development cycle of this game began. It was expected and planned for all along. In other words, the devs don't consider the use of comms cheating. Nor do they consider playing with a group cheating. So why do you?
Sure, let's test your idea. I'm fine with it being on the test server. And while we're testing that, let's also lock killers out of queue every time they dodge a lobby. Because knocking down their MMR for leaving (which is what you suggested) isn't really a penalty. That's just giving killers who want to seal club an imminently abuse-able mechanic to do so.

You're putting words in my mouth. I never said ######### you to casual swfs. If i ever swf its with my friends who dont like to play the game anymore because its a sweatfest. So they suck and we play to have fun. There is no proof that que times will be that long if killers can see swfs, however there is also no evidence showing that they wont be. Thats why i suggested a minimum of testing it. They tested SBMM for a year surely they can test this. Someone else also stated something to the effect of lobby dodgeing penalties and i think that would be a smart way to lower the mmr of killers who dont want to be placed so high.
Okay, fine. You never LITERALLY said those words. But let's take a look at a few things you have said. Your original post has been HEAVILY edited since you first made it, but it still says -
"Show whos in swfs so im not constantly facing them."
How would simply SHOWING you ensure that you don't constantly face them? Oh wait, it wouldn't. The only way you would be able to ensure you're not constantly facing them after being shown they're there...would be to dodge them. You also said -
"I think they can suffer to wait until they find a killer that wants to deal with it."
Once again, implying that you would REALLY just like to dodge SWF teams. Let someone else deal with it. And if they constantly get dodged because everyone just ASSUMES every single SWF is a super competitive, amazing tryhard team? Even if they're just filthy casuals? Your opinion = screw 'em. They can wait. You also said -
"I should be able to choose not to go against these tryhards every match"
Once again, showing your real motivation for wanting to be able to see SWF groups in the lobby.
Here's a thought - even IF you were shown SWF groups in the lobby, how would you, or anyone, know how good they are? You wouldn't.
So what would you do? Based on your comments here, most of the time you'd dodge.

You are right and most SWF's are not super good but just being SWF is an advantage you know who you are playing with and like you said you try to make cohesive builds, that's a huge advantage over if you were 3 solos cause you'd all prioritize self preservation in most situations. On killer side, it's impossible to tell who's good or not until you're facing them so it's always a safer solution to just dodge the lobby and prevent possible frustration.
Honestly the Simple Solution is to just make a casual playlist and have SWF as an option there, that way there's no harm towards everyone. It's casual doesn't matter if it's solos or SWF, it's casual so it doesn't matter if you kill everyone or none... As long as they made the ranked mode worth playing they could sustain both playlists. Casual people can just play casual and Comp people can play ranked when they choose to and then relax on casual. The biggest problem would be people who try hard on casual playlist.
Of course it has advantages. But the point I am making, and I think many others have made the same (or similar) is that being in a SWF team doesn't mean we're unbeatable or amazing. Not everyone who is in a group is super good at the game. We do play to have fun, and don't rage or get mad when we lose, and don't use certain items. No flashlights, no keys. But we do play with the spirit of the game and do our best to complete objectives and help each other. And yes, being in a group conveys advantages we wouldn't have otherwise. But honestly, it just puts us on par with average-to-good killers.
Believe me, I have been a killer against full SWF groups where everyone had a flashlight or key with purple or pink add-ons, and they all had DS and Die Hard. It's absolutely no fun playing against that. But I don't get the sense that that's the majority of SWF groups that are encountered. I get the sense most of them are closer to me and my friends.

One of my friends has been playing this game for a while, and is...decent, but not great. Myself and another friend recently (within the past month and a half) joined him and started playing as well. We play together a lot, a 3-person SWF. We suck. We regularly get 4K'd. We honestly do TRY, but we're just not good. We try to get better, and we try to do objectives and help each other, and try to pick perks that have SOME cohesion. But we still get wrecked by good to great killers.
And your attitude to us is, "######### you, you can wait in a 25 minute queue getting endlessly dodged until someone feels like dealing with a team of friends who wants to try."
That's kinda messed up.

Whats wrong with those swfs going against the sweatier killers? Killers dont have a difinitive advantage over other killers like swf does over solo q. Knowing what killer it is a completely different thing. That will break the game. Because no one will go against nurse/spirit. Thats different then a team that has an unfair advantage over killer and solo q. There is no defending this. Whether they do it or not is another issue. At a minimum they should test it. They tested mmr for the past year they can test this too.
The irony of complaining that nobody would go against Nurse/Spirit if survivors could see who the killer is while simultaneously advocating for the ability to know if you're against a SWF so you can dodge them...

Jane. I just love everything about her!
-
Thank you, everyone! It was definitely my best Killer game since I started playing lol.
-
Thank you. I am just SO bad at getting chased :( I am trying, I really am. But it does get discouraging when Leatherface just downs you in 3 seconds and you feel trapped with nowhere to go lol...but yes, I actually just had another decent match where I was able to evade a Freddy for a bit! Granted, he was only a single perk Freddy and a rank 18...but still...I actually did it!
I feel like against decent killers though, I stand no chance :( I'm trying, though! I really am!

Thanks for the tips, everyone! Meg is my highest level survivor, and all my best chases happen with her. So getting her perks for others makes sense. I'll look into some others too. When I play Kate, I do use her Windows of Opportunity.
Thanks for the suggestions, I appreciate it.

Maybe I'm still too new, but I don't blame killers for my suckiness lol...and believe me, I've got a lot of it going on.
One thing I have noticed though, as it relates to your example. It seems to me that whenever someone gets downed, or gets picked up, a lot of other survivors immediately drop what they're doing and move toward that area, crouching nearby and waiting for an opportunity to unhook. So from a killer perspective, it makes a lot of sense to stay in the area where they just hooked someone. If the survivors are going to come right to you...
Meanwhile, I try to stay doing generators, because I suck at being chased. So I don't want to make it even easier for the killer to chase me by going right to them. I let the two other people do that, which they almost always do. For example, I was literally just in a match with a Leatherface. He hooks the first one. The other two drop what they're doing and immediately go to the area. I stay on my generator. The other two fail to get the rescue, and he downs both of them. Now I'm all alone, with two downed teammates, and one teammate on a hook. Oh, and did I mention he hooked them on a basement hook?
I managed to heal one of the ones who was crawling, who managed to rescue the other crawler who got put on a hook. While I went to do another generator. The first person who got hooked died.
He ended up killing all 4 of us. We managed to repair a total of 2 generators, both by me. The match lasted maybe 6 minutes, lol.
Was any of that the killer's fault? Not the way I saw it.
-
Regarding the two posts above - yes! I have gotten a couple pallet stuns now, and it feels great, precisely in a, 'Whew, I finally got one! I actually did it!' type of way lol.
I just played a match against Nemesis and I managed to pallet stun him twice and run him around chasing me for a while. I even completely evaded him twice! In the end, he still killed all 4 of us...but honestly, I still had fun! It was maybe my best all-around game, and I didn't even survive.
I feel like I'm starting to 'get' it more now :)

Just wanted to leave a follow-up to this...
I followed the advice given here, and even watched a couple YouTube videos. I'm having a lot more fun now! I'm not good by any stretch, but at least I'm not ALWAYS the lowest scoring person in the game lol...and I don't always die first. My Meg is level 19 now, and I am slowly figuring out ways to prolong chases. I still do get caught and die a lot, but I am on the lookout for vault opportunities and pallets and stuff now, and am not panicking as much when the killer is chasing me.
Against some of them, I still feel like I have no shot. Spirit for example. I've faced her a few times now, and I don't know what it is, but I just cannot evade her. Maybe all those players were just really good players. But most others, I don't feel like I'm instantly dead when they start chasing me now.
And I try to do as much as I can for the team now; I don't just run away and hide and try to repair generators, lol. I heal teammates, rescue them from hooks, try to distract the killer, etc. I've tried a couple times to get them to drop a survivor with the flashlight, but haven't quite been able to figure that one out yet.
So thanks everyone, for the helpful replies and suggestions! I'm enjoying the game much more now, and starting to slowly figure things out!

I appreciate the honest feedback! Thank you! To address a few specific points -
Yamaoka, I don't know yet that I can't have fun unless I survive...I just sorta thought that was the ultimate goal of the Survivor role, so I have been gearing my gameplay toward that.
Seraphor, that's a good list. I'm getting better at skill checks. I rarely fail, and occasionally get Greats now. Numbers 2, 4, and 5 I have yet to do. I think that's part of the frustration. I see that the tools are there for it to be possible, but I feel like I am incapable yet of pulling off a scenario where I can actually evade a killer.
Orion, I get what you're saying. The deck is stacked against me, if the killer finds me, I'm likely going to die. I guess it would just be cool if I could OCCASIONALLY pull off scenarios 2, 4, and 5 that Seraphor outlined above :) It would be nice to not feel helpless the moment I'm detected. I guess that just comes with practice, and that was sorta the point of my post - what made that stuff click for you guys? When did you reach a moment when you could occasionally do things like Seraphor outlined above, and also survive every once in a while?
Huge_Bush, thank you I'll check out some videos and try playing some Killer matches.*
*Pending post about when does killer get fun/how do I actually catch and kill any of these slippery survivors! lol...just kidding. Maybe. xD
Thanks for the feedback so far! I'd love to get any additional!

Yeah, I don't really understand what advantage/disadvantage the fog is supposed to give to killers or survivors. It just seems like flair that doesn't really have an effect. It doesn't seem to affect my view much, no matter which offerings are used.
