  • Funny enough I have tons of experience on both these servers as a south american currently residing in Asia. Thing is, and I can't say much about the remaining regions, swfs in Asia don't pay attention to secondary objectives such as totems and chests (heck, sometimes even rescues) at all. I remember when I got here I had to get used to people just rushing through my ruin (which was still old ruin) and escaping without even bothering to look for it or save their teammate who got hooked in the endgame. Maybe this craving for efficiency is a cultural thing, as an outsider I wouldn't really understand.

South America is a different story - people there, at least up until I left, actually felt like they were playing for fun, not to be efficient. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of extremely good players there but they're very casual about it. I didn't fear going against swfs because they were usually just a group of friends trying to have a good laugh, which is totally not the vibe I get from most Japanese/Korean (which are the most common nationalities in the servers I play in) groups, they feel like comp teams in terms of objective, although they often are mediocre at best when it comes to looping.

Honestly, and I know this is gonna sound very lazy, I just started checking profiles to see if the lobby has a 3-man or higher swf group. If it does and I'm not feeling like sweating too hard, I dodge the lobby. Shameless, yeah, but it helps me keep on enjoying the game.

dont forget about Jeff and legion, even though they only interacted once.

Thanks! Gonna give them a read.

  • Yeah, I enjoy the fact that he's unlikeable and unrelatable to anyone but a complete narcissist. She felt kinda stuck up but that gave her some personality. Also I've only read like 5 characters' lore but have we ever had a killer this connected to a survivor before? Cause that's pretty cool too.

EDIT: Except Michael and Laurie, ofc.

  • That's just solo queue for you. All it takes is a stupid mistake from a stupid survivor and everyone can be punished for it. You said you run kindred and that's basically all you can do as the hooked person. If another survivor is getting camped and the others don't have that perk time WILL be wasted and you'll most likely be doing gens by yourself for the next two minutes or more if another person gets caught. Game's frustrating and people will never stop making dumb decisions. Just try your best, say gg and move on.

  • At this point it feels like people are just looking for reasons to hate on the killer. Believe me, not my cup of tea either, but all this rambling about his looks is starting to get a bit annoying. So what if the devs want to make the killer a good looking dude? If his power isn't tweaked nobody will be playing him a week into his release anyways. Just accept it like we did with The Legion's edgy teenager aesthetic.

Also, as a lot of people have been saying, it's been a hot minute since DBD stopped being a horror game. The only people who should expect to be scared by it are new players.

  • I can only speak for myself but I play normally to see how the new killer's mechanics would apply to a regular game. In my first game I thought it was okay to run around looking for the killer to see how he chases but that's it. I'm not going to sit there potentially competing for the killer's attention with 3 other survivors when I can just do the things survivors do and wait for them to come pressure me instead. Since I don't care about BP or pips, being on the PTB doesn't really make a difference as far as playstyle goes. When I played as the killer I didn't expect the survivors to just run at me like that either. Some of them did, some stayed on gens like you're ideally supposed to. I don't know how new you are to the game but that's something you're gonna have to get used to.

  • I decided to start playing a lot more killer. Found out it's a very decent and fun role and everything looks like it hits for me so I feel slightly

  • Deathslinger and flashlights.

  • Never relied on bloodlust before, didn't expect people to make such a big deal out of this.

  • Actually I kinda feel you

It's small and a preference thing, but I kinda liked the times when everybody could communicate via chat because they were playing on a keyboard and not on controllers, the occasional salt and the occasional wholesomeness were part of the experience to me. Now depending on how bad the lobby I get is I just feel like I'm playing with bots because nobody can say a thing; we can't argue, we can't laugh with each other, we can't exchange discord ids to get to know each other better and eventually become friends... And I can't just turn it off either - I'm in South America and not enough people have turned it off to fill lobbies. That means I get sent to NA servers in which I have really high ping if I want to play with only PC players.

If only it was off by default so that only people who want it have to do play with other platforms... Not enough people would have it on for it to be a justifiable feature in the first place. So they just force everyone in. I honestly hate how they do stuff sometimes.

  • Pelo que eu li só dá pra migrar o progresso do Stadia pro PC e vice versa por enquanto. Ainda vão adicionar pra outros consoles.

  • I have no friends haha ;(

  • Ignore people who seem to want my attention too much

I'll make it a point to tunnel if somebody DS's me after I hook another survivor

If I think the survivor is funny I usually let them go

If there's a DC in the earlygame I just farm

Camp a pallet (as in don't try to loop me on it even when it's possible to get a loop or two going) and I'll bloodlust you on it (except for overly safe pallets, in which case I'll bloodlust you on the next one you get to)

  • It happened to a friend of mine as well, I think those are getting removed along with the exclusives everybody got (twitch, crew shirt, etc).

  • I was recently back from an almost 2 year break and grinding my way back to rank 1 as survivor was horrible. Most people at grey/yellow ranks don't do gens (some don't do them because they can't even hit skillchecks consistently), get downed too fast, waste too many pallets without needing to... And I'm not saying they're supposed to know how to play perfectly, I'm the one who isn't supposed to be there but I did have to deal with that a lot in order to go back to ranks I feel comfortable at. There ARE people like that at rank 1 but they're not the majority anymore (at least in the SA region) so it doesn't bother me as much.

As killer though, completely chill games until I was around rank 5 which is where things normally start to get stressing (pressure to pip, etc). I'd even stay at green/yellow ranks if I didn't feel bad. Can't help but feel like I'm smurfing and ruining newer players' experiences.

  • If legacy hacking counts as cheating, I've seen one like a month ago. Nothing else though.

  • I play mainly survivor because killer gives me anxiety

  • The hatch will appear regardless of there being 5 gens left or no gens left. If you absolutely demolish a team and kill 3 of them before they have the chance to repair a gen, the last survivor still has a chance to escape by dumb luck. If you kill the third survivor when there's 1 gen left, the 4th one likely already knows where the hatch spawned. If you slug for the 4k because you don't wanna feel robbed, you get called sweaty. If only there was a way for the last survivor alive to actually prove they are good enough to escape...

  • As survivor I'd give myself a 7 and as killer maybe 4. I can mindgame and all, but the second the survivors decide to hide there's nothing that can save me.

  • I'm all for it. Can't see what exactly keeps the PC version from having something like Mobile has. Way less stressful and helps build up confidence.
