I repeat, FIRST MATCH. BHVR, get this joke that you call a matchmaking system fixed. This is utterly ridiculous. Is it really that hard to wonder why new players don't stick around?

I am a level 20 killer and got matched with a rank 6, 11 and can't recall the other but one was a 20. I don't think they were a SWF trying to carry a lower level but this isn't the first time I have ran into this and it can be very punishing for people new to the game or those that don't have a lot of time to invest. I will try and grab a screenshot of when it happens again because I feel confident it will.

Remember that slugging isn't all that toxic. Waiting for people to bleed out when you could just hook them? Yes. Slugging to apply pressure? No. It's a pretty good tactic, applies just as much pressure as hooking a survivor and you don't have to waste time picking the survivor up and taking them to a hook, you can just get straight into another chase.

I am a noob killer and would always hook ASAP so as not to appear toxic. But in the lower ranks so many survivors will run to the hook that you get accused of camping so I will almost always slug the first survivor for a bit to try and pressure a gen. Sometimes you'll be labeled as something no matter what. Anyway, I am terrible at chases so I have to try to slow the game down by running whatever perks I have that do that. I seem to do okay with Hag as you can prepare for some loops and catch them off guard. Good luck and feel free to add me if ya wanna practice customs. Gt is PulmonaryRex.

So I got into two games in particular tonight. One against Huntress the other with Oni. Neither had killed anyone all game. The games in my eyes went too fast and I figured that the killers didn't get nearly enough bloodpoints. So I decided to signal to my teammates to get out and let the killer kill me. They were both hesitant at killing me. Repeatedly dropping me off at the exit gate. I convinced the Huntress to kill me but with the Oni, I got forced through the exit point. I felt bad. Should I feel bad?

P.S. I ran the Oni for 3 gens and the other two got finished in quick succession leading to probably a 7 min game.

Well, I am a terrible killer, played about 50 hours, so I appreciate when people will realize I'm not much of a threat and let me get a hook. I don't mean to imply they should but it does help take the sting away from going 3 or 4 matches without a single kill so thanks.

Except I had data in form of experiences. Again you take a comment out of context. Holmes is saying don't just go on nothing. If you have SOMETHING, whatever that something is, you can consider that data. My personal experiences playing as and against the killer can be seen as data. While I didn't exactly record the details of every single game, the fact is I am most consistent with Freddy and most oppressive with Freddy (and feel the most oppressed consistently playing against Freddy) compared to every single other killer suggests something. That something is supported by not 1, but 2 data reveals by the developers, the first of which included more detail stats. When looked at as a whole, I was able to identify exactly what makes him so good and articulate that in the OP, then provide clear and simple solutions.

I mean, people that hate Spirit can't articulate their argument as well as I did in the OP. They say very vague things about it, don't have a clue what the solution could be (maybe because they have a hard time identifying the actual problem), and on top of that the data doesn't support it either. So it's faulty all around.

My OP is not that at all. I have a solid well formulated points about Freddy, and while I only posted the recent data dump I could go back and get the previous ones (and I probably should... and may).

You are intentionally strawmaning my argument so you don't have to admit Freddy is too strong and needs a change. I can and will use these charts to support my claims because that's how this ######### works.

Again "do not draw conclusions" =/= "data is meaningless".

Dude... You're personal experience can't actually be used for data UNLESS YOU HAVE THE NUMBERS. Personal experience is subjective and yours could vary wildly from others. If you want to prove Freddy is OP you are really and I mean really have to spend an inordinate amount of time collecting data across multiple sources. Personal experience is not a valid form of data when you're discussing something that multiple people can use in wildly different ways. I am not trying to dog you but those numbers presented don't mean a lot on their own. Way too many variables that aren't accounted for, etc.

  • It's November and I am a level 18 killer that consistently goes up against level 7, 4, 5, etc survivors. Is the match making still busted or working as intended?

I've noticed ever since I hit rank 5 survivor on Ps4 (crossplay on) I've gotten nothing but red ranks as teammates and killers. Very difficult getting to red but I like a challenge. Some games are better than others, need to take it all with a grain of salt. When it's late at night I get all ranks and colors haha.

And is it fun when I get put up against a rank 1 killer when I've only been playing for maybe a month? No not at all but it's all a learning experience. This goes for anything in life. You can learn things from bad situations if you know how to help yourself and not dig into the drama.

When I do play killer and I happen to pick ghostface, if the survivors start t bagging I t bag with them. Because at the end of the day it's just a game. Play it or don't play it. I don't like seeing people go though because this is a slowly dieing game

Offtopic; I like Ghostface as well. Only level 30 with him but I find myself getting constantly knocked out of Night Shroud even when crouched or leaning and stalking. I know, "practice, git gud". Seriously, something seems a bit off or else I am totally playing Ghosty Boy incorrectly, which is a definite possibility. If you happen to be on Xbox and wanna run some customs just for practice I am more than willing.

  • New player and I'm lucky if I get 2 kills at rank 18. Even then I was told I was tunneling. Like, I saw you and killed you... isn't that my job? I have issues with my hands that make playing the game difficult but I kind of wish I could play well enough to get some heat from the survivors other than "u suck ez bb killer". Its whatever. I may get better and I may not but at the end of the day, I play the game or I don't. I like the idea of the game but match making seems busted and it is tough on new players. Sorry if I thread jacked.

  • I'm a noob so I don't understand the ranking system but as a level 20 survivor I run i to level 20 killers with all 4 ultra rare perks. Really makes it tough to play. I don't know how people who have clearly hit a higher skill level are allowed to play with completely new players but it happened 4 matches in a row. Fully kitted killer vs 4 newb survivors. Just had to stop playing as much as I would like to. Beyond frustrating.

Is it me or has anyone else noticed most matches the killer has almost always a perfect game. Killer score is 30-32k while the survivors dont even have half of that......it just doesn't sit right with me anymore...there are clear discrepancies here...

Shoot.. Not when I play killer, lol. I am a noob but if I get a 3k it is a HUGE win for me.

  • I hear ya. Just started playing about a week ago. I have met a few nice people but the wait times to play as killer are INSANE. 20 minutes? I have to say I am glad I haven't been around and waited until this was on GamePass because I would be FURIOUS if I had bought this game and it was in this current state. I am a rank 20 killer and have been matched up with level 10-12 survivors. Then, if someone quits in the lobby the entire waiting process starts afain. It's bad.. Like, can't even play bad.
