same thing with myers, it probably for all killers

Also happens with Huntress and Trapper from what i've seen after playing some more. Doesn't happen on Nemesis, Blight, and Plague. Seems like a lot of the older killers are getting this, if not specifically the older killers then the ones with the default vault animation.

  • From what I've heard, he does actually chatter when teleporting and in his mori.

I haven't bought the skin yet so I'm not 100% sure of that, though.

Hello I am new to DBD and would like to take part in PTB. Could someone tell me how to do so please?

    Thanks in advance.

PTB's only accessible to Steam Users iirc, but if you're on steam all you have to do is go to your game Library, right click on Dead By Daylight's name, click properties, then go to betas.

You'll see a location to opt into betas, if a PTB is up, you click on that and then select the PTB instead of "None".

Your game will update and then you'll be good to go!

To get out of it, you just do the exact same thing and change the PTB to none, but it'll also automatically take you back once the testing is over regardless.

  • Genuinely, this was one of the most heartbreaking things when it came to losing Stranger Things recently.

Nemesis, PH, and Pig aren't modern horror reps. People who were toddlers when Saw came out GRADUATED.

The characters already in DBD are iconic but NONE of the people from 2000-2004 saw the conception of them. They didn't grow up in the early 2000s, they grew up in the 2010s. Saw is a movie for people from the late 80s-90s, they were the people going into the movie theatre.

There are an entire 4 years of people born in the 2000s that fit in DBD's age rating of 17+. The people who are probably most likely to be joining this game are the people that have no reps anymore.

Once Stranger Things is fully gone that's it. Why would any of them play the game? They might recognize Ghost Face or Freddy- but they're not seeing the character they're seeing the Halloween costume they remember from when they were at a costume shop in 2009.

So far, I think every character deserves their spot, I'm happy to see Pinhead come into the game. People obviously deserve to have their favorites come in. But I think people born after 2000 also deserve to have at least a second rep that they saw come out while growing up.

By the time ANY franchise that people born in the 2000s grew up with would be "iconic" enough to be added- DBD's going to be long gone.

The fact that the only 2010s rep is getting removed from the game is pretty tragic, and I hope- maybe within two or so years we see another modern horror franchise come into Dead By Daylight to fill the void that's being left by Stranger Things.

  • Unfortunately, there's not really any blanket solution to dealing with Toxicity as killer.

The best solution I've found is just improving at the game naturally, playing both sides, and playing what you find fun to go against on the other side. Personally I ended up maining Demogorgon because I found it to be a lot of fun whenever I got to go against one, and the killer was just as much fun to play for me.

Unfortunately, you'll find Spirit is-- well-

The most hated killer in the game. No matter how well or bad you play Spirit, more than any other killer you'll encounter toxicity and hate.

That doesn't mean that you have to stop playing the killer, or even should. It's just something to consider that you'll have to be more in the mood to handle toxicity when you're playing her.

It's going to be a difficult road, and if you're not in a good mood that day you're going to have to seriously consider whether or not you're willing to play. It's okay to not want to play every day and it's okay to want to do something else. Toxicity can be a major deciding factor in whether or not you even stay with a game and it's okay if you decide to leave based on it.

Also, to answer your question-- There is a reason you're being matched with players of higher ranks: A shortage of killer players, likely due to the same issue you're dealing with.

Matchmaking times are very long for survivor frequently during certain times of day. As explained by the Devs it could be that there's 400 survivors in queue, and absolutely no killers in the queue.

The matchmaking system currently tries to pair you with players of similar rank, but some people have to wait so long for that one killer that the system eventually just decides it's been too long and gives a new player to a group of veterans.

As for improving, when I was learning killer a couple months back when I started the game my go-to's were Not Otzdarva and Scott Jund.

There's several guides on their YouTube channels that help, both of them have tutorials on specific killers, overall killer tips, maps, perks, and even gameplay analysis of other players or themselves so you can understand WHY certain things are done and see them in action. It's really valuable information that once you start figuring out how to incorporate into play you'll be able to fly through the ranks.

Toxicity will decrease over time as you get better, once you've improved enough you have direct control over the amount of toxicity in your matches. Killers/Perks/Strategies that are unfun to go against will be the main things that cause toxicity at that point.

If it keeps being really bad though, you CAN turn crossplay off by going to the main menu (Not killer or survivor menus), going to options and scrolling down. Console players are much less likely to talk and you can presumably just disable people messaging you on PS4 as well. There's also a button to hide the endgame chat in the post-game lobby (I believe it stays off until you restart the game or turn it back on).

Take everything at your own pace and don't be afraid to take breaks or just not play when you don't want to deal with it. You'll be okay.

I'm not really sure what's being reported here tbh. I can't see how losing the shred attack when you effectively tab out of the game is a bug 🤔

No, not tabbing out of the game. Opening the menu. (The one that shows all the survivors names and who they're playing)

Your Shred loses all forward momentum, effectively stopping you in place mid-attack for tapping ESC. It could be utilized to stop your momentum when you make a mistake. One of the biggest downsides to Shred is that messing it up throws you a significant distance away. It's never stopped me before when I check that menu during it.

I think this has gotten mixed up with charging Of The Abyss? I'm not talking about pressing ESC so you can keep it charged without holding the button, I'm talking about the actual Shred attack being stopped halfway through the lunge when you press ESC.

You're supposed to move for the entire duration of the attack, but just pressing ESC completely halts it. From what I've known playing Demogorgon, the attack isn't supposed to be stoppable in any way and having the way to cancel it be opening a menu seems really suspicious to me especially with the small but real advantage that can be gained from it.

Sorry for any confusion! I haven't reported bugs on here before.
